Abstract

Dispositivo para modificar la forma de la córnea. Por medio de este dispositivo se consigue cambiar plásticamente la forma de la córnea mediante la aplicación del vacío. El dispositivo consiste en una cámara de vacío (1) con aperturas (3) que está conectada a una bomba de vacío (2). Colocando el dispositivo en la superficie de la córnea y después haciendo el vacío, se consigue una deformación plástica de la zona de la córnea por debajo de las aperturas. El resultado es que la curvatura de la córnea y la refracción del ojo son modificadas.Una córnea mas plana reduce o corrige la miopía. Aplicaciones de este invento incluyen la corrección de todos los errores de refracción: miopía, hipermetropía y astigmatismo.
