Abstract
Method of analysis of acute rejection in orthotropic liver transplant by determination of the intensity of expression of the co-stimulator molecules (CD28, CTLA-4, CD80 and CD86) on the surface of peripheral blood lymphocytes by flow cytometry. This discovery relates to a new process for early and bloodless detection of the onset of acute rejection in orthotropic liver transplant by investigating the intensity of expression of the co-stimulator molecules CD28, CTLA-4, CD80 and CD86 determined from their mean fluorescence channel estimated using flow cytometry techniques in peripheral blood cells extracted 3 days after transplant. Applications: this method can be used for the early detection and preventive treatment of episodes of acute rejection in orthotropic liver transplant, which offers the advantage of avoiding damage to the transplant and the use of more aggressive late treatments.
