Abstract
Process for the treatment of water in cooling towers and evaporation condensers and a unit for implementing the process. Comprises treating the dirty water forced from the base of the ponds for the purposes of lime prevention and decalcification by a treatment unit and returning the clean water to the pond and also the incoming make-up water which compensates for evaporation and a circuit generating oscillations directed towards the centre of the pipe to prevent lime encrustations and precipitation. The dirty water enters via three pipes from the base of the corresponding pond and through a suction pump to the filter which treats it and delivers it to the outlet piping after passing through an ioniser to the device which performs the conversion of the lime crystals into the form of needles in suspension and then returns the clean water to the corresponding pond by a return pipe, thus forming a closed circuit. When the filter, which is controlled by a suitable valve, becomes dirty, it is diverted via an evacuator, and the process is then recommenced. The integral dirty water treatment unit comprises the three extraction pipes and a return pipe, a pump, a self- cleaning filter, a silver and copper ionisation device, and another electronic device identical to that provided, the said unit being housed in a protective box associated with the corresponding pond.
