Abstract

Biomembranes for the extemporaneous encapsulation of tetracaine. The procedure for the extemporaneous encapsulation of tetracaine in biomembranes is based on the preparation of large multilamellar liposomes with the incorporation of vitamin F or natural oils in the membranes. The vesicles are then ruptured in an aqueous solution of tetracaine salt, using the osmotic properties of the vesicles, the restructuring of which allows the encapsulation of the tetracaine. Said procedure is characterized by allowing the encapsulation of tetracaine and of other water-soluble active principles in an extemporaneous form, starting from the biomembranes and a solution of a tetracaine salt, or other water-soluble active principles. The practical application of the present invention consists in the topical use of the preparation in lotions, gels or creams for obtaining a local effect of greater efficacy and lower toxicity than conventional preparations.
