Abstract

The hip prosthesis has a shaft (1) with a head section joined to it by a neck section (2). The shaft has a large metaphysis section (4) which is connected to an end piece extension (6). The shaft has a general axis (A-A') which forms an angle with the neck axis (B-B').The metaphysis section has two straight edges on either side of a symmetry plane which is vertical to the sagittal reference plane (S).Through holes (13) on the outer edge (10) are used for bands. The cylindrical end piece has a smooth upper surface and its length forms at least 65% of the overall length of the shaft. The end piece has two cross holes for fixing screws
