Unit which includes two metering subsystems located hydraulically in parallel, each one composed of a metering valve 5-6 with a torque motor 8-7 and variable displacement transducer 17-18, which subsystems are connected by means of a switching valve 10; the unit also includes a valve 15 for automatic compensation of failures in a valve 9 for monitoring loss of head and recirculation. With all the aforesaid, the failure rate of unrequested shutdown of its components overall is insignificant, the invention being especially applicable to aviation engines. <IMAGE>
