LA RADIACION ELECTROMAGNETICA REFLEJADA DIRECTAMENTE POR EL OBJETIVO E INDIRECTAMENTE POR EL OBJETIVO A TRAVES DE LA SUPERFICIE DE TIERRA SE RECIBE EN LA ANTENA (3) Y SE PROCESA EN UN RECEPTOR SUMATORIO (9,10,11), CONECTADO POR MEDIO DEL CONMUTADOR DE TRANSMISION-RECEPCION (6) A LA ANTENA (3), COMO SEÑALES SUMATORIAS COMPLEJAS, Y EN UN RECEPTOR DE DIFERENCIA (12,13,14) COMO SEÑALES DE DIFERENCIA COMPLEJAS. UN PROCESADOR DE SEÑAL (15), QUE RECIBE LAS SEÑALES SUMATORIAS COMPLEJAS Y LAS SEÑALES DE DIFERENCIA COMPLEJAS, DISPONE DE UN ALGORITMO QUE DETERMINA LA ALTURA DEL OBJETIVO. EL ALGORITMO PERMITE LA DETERMINACION DE LA ALTURA DEL OBJETIVO MIENTRAS LA ANTENA PERMANECE DIRIGIDA AL OBJETIVO.
