Máquina refrigeradora a gas frío que comprende por lo menos dos espacios cuyos volúmenes varían contínuamente con una diferencia de fase sustancialmente constante teniendo uno de los espacios un temperatura inferior que el otro y comunicándose los referidos espacios a través de un congelador un regenerador y un enfriador pasando en los mismos un gas de composición química invariable que permanece en el mismo estado de agregación por un ciclo termodinámico cerrado caracterizada por el hecho de que el relleno del regenerador comprende elementos a través de los cuales por lo menos una parte del gas que circula por dicho relleno está en contacto térmico con un medio que es independiente del ciclo termodinámico de la máquina.
