Abstract

Liposomal preparations of drugs or vaccinal antigens for veterinary medicine. The liposomal preparations contain the drugs used either inside the liposomes, as an aqueous solution, or in the phospholipid bilayer which forms the liposomes. When the liposomes contain vaccinal antigens, these are inside the liposomes or in the bilayer. The phospholipids used, of natural, semi-synthetic or synthetic origin, are accompanied by antioxidants and stabilizers. The liposomes have a maximum diameter of 0.2 microns, and have been sterilized and stabilized for maintenance of their characteristics until the time of use. The liposomal preparations are used for the application of drugs or vaccinal antigens by the parenteral, intravenous, intramuscular or intraperitoneal route, in any animal species, leaving less residues in the animal tissues and causing less lesions than traditional formulations.
