Abstract

The sleeve comprises a fastening body (6) and a shoe (8) which can be inserted at the end (5) of the tube (4). The end of the fastening body (6) pointing towards the outside of the tube (4) is connected, in service, to the element (2) to be fastened. At the other end of the fastening body (6) an inclined surface (12) bears on a corresponding inclined surface (14) of the shoe (8) when the sleeve is assembled. Clamping means (30, 40) are provided in order axially to urge the shoe (8) and the fastening body (6) towards each other. The inclined bearing plane formed by the inclined surfaces (12, 14) converts this axial load into a relative lateral displacement of the fastening body (6) and of the shoe (8) which produces an increase in the transverse dimension of the whole of the sleeve. The fastening body (6) and the shoe (8) bear against the internal surface of the tube (4) and thus immobilise the element (2) to be fastened at an adjustable position at the end (5) of the tube (4). Use for fastening an electric cabinet to the top of one or more tubular legs.
