Abstract

Process which comprises the mechanical recovery of the sands and their storage in a silo, from which they are recovered in a reactor, countercurrentwise, by means of residual gases originating from an oxycombustion furnace. The gases from the reactor are conveyed, together with the vapours produced in the aforesaid silo, to a burner where combustion of the organic elements in the sand takes place. The combustion gases from this burner are passed via a recovery device installed inside the silo in order to heat the sand which will then pass on to the reactor.
