Abstract

The catheter consists of two concentric layers which allows diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to be carried out without interrupting blood flow in the duct. External layer has at the far end, in addition to the end hole, several lateral holes through which blood can flow through duct. By pushing inner layer, holes are obstructed shutting off the blood flow. The system allows introduction of a finer probe through the catheter into duct for more prolonged exploration or treatment while allowing flow of blood through the duct.
