Abstract

A folding door comprises a primary panel (2a) articulated on the frame by means of a first joint (6) and on a secondary panel (2b) by means of a second joint (3). In the closed position of the door, a selective locking means located in the vicinity of the second joint (3) comprises a bolt (8) connected to the second panel (2b) and capable of engaging into a catch (13) connected to the primary panel (2a) under the action of a spring (9). Opening is obtained by tilting the handle (33) which causes the bolt (8) to retract counter to the spring (9), this tilting being followed by a push which causes the panels (2a, 2b) to pivot relative to the joint (3). Application to the production of a folding door for a water closet of a railway carriage or of an aircraft, comprising a blocking device of relatively simple construction which eliminates the vibrations of the panels due to the shaking when running (in flight).
