Abstract
New F1 hybrid variety of asparagus termed "ANDREAS", characterised by the fact that it comprises only male plants, that all the plants are identical to each other, that the yield of each plant is substantially greater than the controls, that it has turions which are fairly large in diameter and have a nice appearance, that its enzymatic characteristics by electrofocusing on polyacrylamide gel are of the alpha , beta type for the cathodic peroxidase system, and of the IV1 III1 I3 type for the anodic peroxidase system, and of the PA2 type for the acid phosphatases.
