Abstract

Use of sepiolite in manufacturing processes of products reinforced with mica-containing fiber These processes comprise the following steps: (a) preparation of an aqueous slurry of inorganic binder, reinforcing fibers, retention fibers, mica, inorganic additives to improve the filtration, flocculants or dispersing agents and, optionally other conventional additives (b) wet shaping of the articles by previous elimination of water (c) curing of the shaped articles. Said use is characterised by adding rheological grade sepiolite in the initial aqueous slurry in concentrations such that, in the finished product, the sepiolite concentration is from 0.1 to 10 %.
