Abstract

Potassium persulfate with a reduced content of potassium sulfate is obtained by the reaction of ammonium persulfate and potassium hydroxide, characterized in that at least part of the potassium hydroxide used as a starting material is added to at least part of the mother liquor after separation of potassium persulfate crystals obtained by said reaction to precipitate and remove potassium sulfate formed by the decomposition of potassium persulfate, and the mother liquor is recycled.
