Abstract

It incorporates a rotary drum with four equiangularly distributed jaws 26, the upper jaw carrying a pair of centring rollers 10 which receive the fruit individually from a supply hopper 3 and which, at a specific moment, drop it onto a cradle 28 which momentarily holds it until the jaws 26 act, in order then to rotate the drum through 90 degree, this jaw passing to the cutting zone where, by means of a clutch, the jaws and consequently the fruit are placed in a permanent rotary movement, thanks to the corresponding motor, at the same time as there is action by a pair of cutters which follow one of the generatrices of the fruit, whilst the latter is rotating, giving rise to full peeling thereof. Each cutter 63 adopts the configuration of a housing, is actuated by a preferably pneumatic motor 59 and is assisted by a sleeve 68, in the manner of a tubular palpator, which rests on the outer surface of the fruit.
