Abstract

It consists of four cutting devices in the form of guillotines 1 at different levels and connected by a rolling path 3. The block 2 of stone to be cut is placed in the initial zone of this path 3 and as the latter is provided with freely rotating rollers 4 it moves under gravity towards the cutters 5 of the first guillotine 1. The distance between cuts is regulated by means of a stop 8 and the cut portion falls towards the ramp 15 which communicates with the second guillotine 1. In specific zones of the rolling path there are devices 19 for turning over or inverting the portions cut from the block of stone 2. The gradient of the ramps can be adjusted as it is possible to change the anchoring points of their longitudinal members 16 to the support pillars 12, which are provided with holes 18 at different levels for this purpose.
