Abstract

Integral dynamometer roller for accurately measuring the engine power and torque at the wheels of vehicles, fig. 10. The roller 6, driven by the wheels 26, contains inside a turbine rotor 24, an induced parasitic current stator 17 and an inductor stator 5 of a reversed asynchronous motor 14. The roller turns on a hollow static shaft 27, that can pivot on bearings 21, transmitting the torque to a dynamometer 10. The cooling water enters and leaves through the shaft, driven by the turbine pump. The roller can be fitted with external inertial discs 1 that can be coupled, and internally can be fitted with toothed crown wheels, a water jacket or various twin stators. Drives and brakes the vehicle by measuring the power and has application in the automotive field.
