Abstract
The process, for making a resin for human use in treatment for reduction of cholesterol and providing a system for fixing bile salts and interrupting entero-hepatic re-circulation, consists of (a) reacting a mixt. of vinylamine monomer with benzoyl peroxide in toluene soln. (b) filtering and washing with toluene the insoluble polymer formed (c) dissolving in DMF and treating with epichlorhydrin (d) immersing the soln. in a propanol-water mixt. and treating with glycidyl ammonium chloride and (e) filtering and washing the prod. with methanol.
