Abstract
A high-activity catalyst for conversion of hydrogen and nitrogen to ammonia is based on iron with potassium as promoter. Activation, which has a critical effect on the final properties, takes place in an atmos. of hydrogen and nitrogen at not above 420 deg. C without any intermediate calcination in an oxidising atmos.
