Abstract
In the simultaneous crystallisation of sodium and potassium chlorides from aq. soln., esp. a soln. from processing of remelting slags in the secondary aluminium industry, in which the evapn. heat required for crystallisation is supplied by tubular heat exchanger surfaces, the novelty is that the temp. of the soln. is above 90 deg.C throughout the evapn. crystallisation stage(s). Pref. single stage evapn. crystallisation at at least 100 deg.C is carried out using (esp. mechanical) vapour compression.
