Abstract
Prod. which sets to an Mg cement with water is obtd. by reacting a metal chloride with Mg carbonate or silicate at 300-1000 deg. C and has the formula MgO-MCl. - Pref. the metal chloride is Na, Mg or Ca chloride, and is pref. provided as an aq. soln. which also contains one or more of Na, Ca and Mg borates, phosphates, chlorides and fluorides. The Mg carbonate and silicate are pref. provided in the form of a wide range of natural minerals.
