Abstract

Extraction of sulphur from pyritic minerals which comprises the oxidising lixiviation of pulverised minerals followed by extraction by means of an organic solvent this lixiviation is preceded by separation of sulphides of non-ferrous metals by flotation. The organic solvent may be benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene or xylene.
