Abstract

A separator for use in separating first and second physically different components from an input material, said separator (10) being located in a heatable passageway and including screw conveying means (14) which compresses the material in chamber (12) causing separation of the material, one component exits through perforated walls (13) into chamber (15) and exhausts through outlet (18). The remaining component descends into auxiliary conveyor screw chamber (20) for removal.
