Abstract

A chassis apt to receive an electro-statographic plate which is used in medical diagnosis having a conductive back member, a side rail directed downwards which is fixed to each side of said back member and a photoconductive layer on one of the surfaces of said back side. Back member; characterized in said chassis because it comprises a base member; an upper lid hinged to said base member about its rear walls for rotational movement between an open position and a closed position, said base member having an interiorly disposed supporting surface that is elevated at least slightly above the wall front of said base member, said raised surface being able to support the lower central portion of an electrostatic plate inserted therein when said base member is disposed below said upper layer, at least one guide channel on each side of said base layer. Elevated support surface, each of said guiding channels being able to receive the lateral rail fixed to the adjacent side of the electrostatic plate when the plate is introduced in the chassis, a shaped support member that is fixed in said base member on the side opposite of each guide channel from said raised support surface to support the electrostatic plate in its proper position when the chassis is inverted so that the base member is located on top of said top cap; and means associated with said base member and said top cap for rigidly supporting an electrostatic plate in the chassis without contacting the photoconductive layer when said top cap is in the closed position.
