Abstract

Un procedimiento de preparar un adhesivo resinoso que fragua al calor a la temperatura ambienteque comprende hacer reaccionar por reflujo en condiciones virtualmente anhidras1 mol de polihidroxibenceno anhidro de la siguiente fórmula unitaria**(Ver fórmula)** donde R es un radical seleccionado del grupo formado por hidrógenohidroxilohalogenurocarboxiloradicales alifáticos y arílicosy que no tengan más de un sustituyente del hidrógeno en las posiciones 246y de 0.5 a 0.8 moles del de aldehido anhidro seleccionado del grupo formado por formal dehido y sus polímeros en un disolvente anhidro que contenga metanol en cantidad igual a por lo menos 25% del peso total de los reactivos y el disolventerealizándose la reacción con un catalizador alcalino en cantidad de 001% a 1% del peso de polihidroxibenceno hasta el punto en que el producto de reacción es aun soluble en el disolventesiendo el producto de reacción altamente establey luego añadir a la solución del producto de reacción suficiente cantidad de un aldehido seleccionado del grupo formado por formaldehido y sus polímeros para ofrecer un total de 0.9 a 1.5 moles de aldehido por mol de polihidroxibencenoen presencia de 1.5% a 5%basado en el peso del producto de reacciónde un hidróxido seleccionado del grupo formado por hidróxidos de metales alcalinos y de metales alcalinotérreos suficientes para dar un pH de 6.8 a 9.
