Un vehículo náutico articulado, que se caracteriza por estar constituido por dos elementos independientes y distintos, una proa aguda y un cuerpo posterior o popa, que se relacionan y vinculan entre sí, por medio de un eje-pasador que los cala a ambos de tal modo que en el momento práctico o activo de la navegación, se mantienen como prolongaciones de un mismo conjunto de cubierta superior completamente plana, en tanto que durante su pasividad permite su basculación y plegado que, disminuyendo la longitud del mismo, facilita y resuelve su transporte por tierra.
