A term "and/or" used in this specification includes any or all combinations of one or more related listed items.
- As used herein, terms 'upstream' and 'downstream' are used for describing relative positions of components or parts of the components in an electronic atomization device in a direction of an inhalation airflow.
- As shown in
FIG. 1 to FIG. 4 , an electronic atomization device 100 provided in an embodiment of this application includes a first housing assembly 101. The first housing assembly 101 may be composed of a plurality of components, for example, a main housing, a top cover arranged at a top of the main housing, and a bottom cover arranged at a bottom of the main housing. The first housing assembly 101 may also be integrally formed. - The top of the first housing assembly 101 is provided with a suction nozzle 102. The suction nozzle 102 and the first housing assembly 101 may be formed integrally or separately. The suction nozzle 102 is configured for a user to inhale an aerosol generated through atomization.
- A first liquid storage cavity 103 for storing a first liquid substrate is formed in the first housing assembly 101. The first liquid substrate may be a liquid containing a tobacco substance containing a volatile tobacco flavor ingredient, and may also be a liquid containing a non-tobacco substance. For example, the liquid substrate may include water, a solvent, ethanol, a plant extract, flavor, a flavoring agent, or a vitamin mixture. The flavor may include menthol, peppermint, spearmint oil, various fruity aroma ingredients, and the like, but is not limited thereto. The flavoring agent may include ingredients that may provide various aromas or flavors to a user. The vitamin mixture may be a substance mixed with at least one of a vitamin A, a vitamin B, a vitamin C, and a vitamin E, but is not limited thereto. In addition, the first liquid substrate may include an aerosol forming agent, such as glycerin and propylene glycol.
- Generally, a capacity of the first liquid substrate stored in the first liquid storage cavity 103 ranges from 0.1 ml to 2 ml, such as 0.5 ml, 0.8 ml, 1 ml, or 1.5 ml. It may be understood that the volume of the first liquid storage cavity 103 is slightly greater than a capacity of a stored first liquid substrate. In this way, after storing the first liquid substrate, the first liquid storage cavity 103 may be divided into two parts. As shown in
FIG. 5 , one part is an air portion A1 above a liquid level A, and the other part is a liquid substrate portion A2 below the liquid level A. - An atomization assembly 104 is further arranged in the first housing assembly 101. The atomization assembly 104 is configured to atomize the liquid substrate to generate the aerosol.
- In an example, the atomization assembly 104 includes a liquid transfer unit and a heating element.
- The liquid transfer unit can transfer the liquid substrate in the first liquid storage cavity 103 to the heating element. For example, the liquid transfer unit may be cotton fibers, ceramic fibers, glass fibers, or a porous material, such as porous ceramics or porous glass, but is not limited thereto. The liquid transfer unit may be configured as a tubular structure, a plate structure, or another regular or irregular shape.
- The heating element is configured to heat and atomize the liquid substrate to generate the aerosol. The heating element may be a metal wire, a conductive trace, a metal plate, a ceramic heater, or the like, but is not limited thereto. In addition, the heating element may be composed of a conductive heating wire such as a nickel-chromium wire. The heating element may be made of a material with a suitable temperature coefficient of resistance, for example, stainless steel 316, titanium, nickel, nickel-chromium alloy, or the like. The heating element may be arranged as a structure wound on the liquid transfer unit. The heating element may be heated through current supply and transfer heat to the liquid substrate in contact with the heating element to heat the liquid substrate, thereby generating the aerosol.
- It should be noted that the atomization assembly 104 is not limited to the foregoing implementation. In another example, the heating element may also be a susceptor that can be penetrated by a changing magnetic field to generate heat, or an infrared heater that radiates infrared rays. In another example, the heating element may also be replaced by an ultrasonic atomizer.
- The first housing assembly 101 is also provided with an airflow channel 105 to transmit the aerosol generated by the atomization assembly 104 to the suction nozzle 102 for a user to inhale.
- In an example, a lower end of the airflow channel 105 is in communication with an air inlet. The air inlet may be arranged at a bottom end of the first housing assembly 101. An upper end of the airflow channel 105 is connected to the suction nozzle 102, namely, being in communication with an air outlet (a dashed arrow in figures shows an airflow direction in a part of the airflow channel 105). The first liquid storage cavity 103 is provided around at least part of the airflow channel 105. The atomization assembly 104 is arranged in the airflow channel 105, or the atomization assembly 104 is constructed as a tubular structure, whose internal hollow part defines a part of the airflow channel 105. The airflow channel 105 is provided with a liquid passing hole to be in communication with the first liquid storage cavity 103 and the atomization assembly 104, so that the liquid substrate in the first liquid storage cavity 103 can be transferred to the atomization assembly 104 and atomized.
- A circuit 106 is further arranged in the first housing assembly 101. The circuit 106 may control overall operation of the electronic atomization device 100. In detail, the circuit 106 not only controls an operation of a battery core 107 and the atomization assembly 104, but also controls operation of another element in the electronic atomization device 100. In addition, the circuit 106 may determine, by checking a state of a component of the electronic atomization device 100, whether the electronic atomization device 100 is operable.
- The circuit 106 includes at least one controller. The controller may include a logic gate array, or may include a combination of a general-purpose microprocessor and a memory that stores a program executable in the microprocessor. In addition, a person skilled in the art should understand that the circuit 106 may include another type of hardware.
- The battery core 107 is configured to provide electric power for operating the electronic atomization device 100. For example, the battery core 107 may provide electric power for the heating element to perform heating, and may provide electric power for operating the circuit 106. In addition, the battery core 107 may provide electric power required to operate another component provided in the electronic atomization device 100.
- The battery core 107 may be, but is not limited to, a lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery. For example, the battery core 107 may be a lithium cobaltate (LiCoO2) battery or a lithium titanate battery. The battery core 107 may be a rechargeable battery or a disposable battery.
- It should be noted that only the components related to this embodiment are shown in the figure. A person of ordinary skill in the art should understand that the electronic atomization device 100 may further include other general-purpose components besides the components shown in
FIG. 1 to FIG. 4 . For example, a puff detector may also be arranged in the first housing assembly 101 and is configured to detect a puffing action of the user and generate a corresponding electrical signal. To be specific, a detection as to whether the electronic atomization device 100 is puffed is performed, so that the circuit 106, for example, the controller, controls an operation of the battery core 107, the heating element, or the like based on the electrical signal. For example, the battery core 107 is controlled to provide electric power to the heating element, to enable the heating element to heat and atomize the liquid substrate. A conventional pressure sensor, differential pressure sensor, airflow sensor, or the like may be used as the puff detector. - It should be further noted that, in the examples of
FIG. 1 to FIG. 4 , the foregoing components are integrally formed. The electronic atomization device 100 is a general integrated device. In another example, the electronic atomization device includes an atomizer and a power supply assembly detachably connected to the atomizer. The atomizer is also usually referred to as a cartridge. The power supply assembly is also usually referred to as a cigarette holder. The circuit 106, the battery core 107, and the puff detector are located in the power supply assembly. The suction nozzle 102, the first liquid storage cavity 103, and the atomization assembly 104 are located in the atomizer, which is also feasible. - Still referring to
FIG. 1 to FIG. 4 , a liquid storage component 200 provided by an embodiment of this application includes a second housing assembly 201. The second housing assembly 201 is composed of a body 201a and a top cover 201b. The main body 201a has a tub-shaped structure. The top cover 201b is arranged at a top of the main body 201a. - A second liquid storage cavity 202 for storing a second liquid substrate is formed in the second housing assembly 201. Similar to the first liquid substrate, the second liquid substrate may be a liquid containing a tobacco substance containing a volatile tobacco flavor ingredient, and may also be a liquid containing a non-tobacco substance. In addition, the second liquid substrate may include an aerosol forming agent, such as glycerin and propylene glycol.
- It should be noted that characteristics of the second liquid substrate and the first liquid substrate may be different or the same. For example, compositions of the second liquid substrate and the first liquid substrate are different, or concentrations of the second liquid substrate and the first liquid substrate are different. The second liquid substrate may be a part of a formula, and the first liquid substrate may be another part of the formula. In some examples, the second liquid substrate has the same composition or type as the first liquid substrate, and the second liquid substrate in the second liquid storage cavity 202 is replenished into the first liquid storage cavity 103 as a liquid source, thereby increasing a liquid capacity in the first liquid storage cavity 103.
- A volume of the second liquid storage cavity 202 is greater than a volume of the first liquid storage cavity 103. Generally, the capacity of the second liquid substrate stored in the second liquid storage cavity 202 ranges from 2 ml to 10 ml, such as 4 ml, 5 ml, 6 ml, or 8 ml. It may be understood that the volume of the second liquid storage cavity 202 is slightly greater than a capacity of a stored second liquid substrate. In this way, after storing the second liquid substrate, the second liquid storage cavity 202 may be divided into two parts. One part is an air portion above a liquid level, and the other part is a liquid substrate portion below the liquid level. This may be understood with reference to
FIG. 5 . - The liquid storage component 200 is independent of the electronic atomization device 100. In an example, the liquid storage component 200 is detachably connected to the electronic atomization device 100. To be specific, the second housing assembly 201 is detachably connected to the first housing assembly 101. In an example, the liquid storage component 200 is not detachable from the electronic atomization device 100 after they are connected.
- The first housing assembly 101 is provided with a first accommodating cavity 108 for accommodating or containing at least part of the second housing assembly 201. Specifically, a shape of the first accommodating cavity 108 is adapted to a shape of the second housing assembly 201. The first accommodating cavity 108 is a notch groove extending through a part of a left side wall and a part of a top wall of the first housing assembly 101. The second housing assembly 201 may be assembled to or held on the first housing assembly 101 from a left side of the first housing assembly 101. An inner wall of the first accommodating cavity 108 is provided with a snap-fit connecting member 108a. An outer wall of the second housing assembly 201 is provided with a snap-fit connecting member 201c. A snap fit of the second housing assembly 201 and the first housing assembly 101 is implemented through engagement of the snap-fit connecting member 108a and the snap-fit connecting member 201c. It may be understood that a connection manner for the second housing assembly 201 and the first housing assembly 101 is not limited to the above situation.
- When the second housing assembly 201 is connected to the first housing assembly 101, the first liquid storage cavity 103 and the second liquid storage cavity 202 are substantially arranged in sequence along a width direction of the electronic atomization device 100. The first liquid storage cavity 103 is arranged near a right end of the electronic atomization device 100, and the second liquid storage cavity 202 is arranged near a left end of the electronic atomization device 100.
- When the second housing assembly 201 is connected to the first housing assembly 101, the air portion above the liquid level in the first liquid storage cavity 103 is in communication with the air portion above the liquid level in the second liquid storage cavity 202, and the liquid substrate portion below the liquid level in the first liquid storage cavity 103 is in communication with the liquid substrate portion below the liquid level in the second liquid storage cavity 202.
- Specifically, as understood with reference to
FIG. 6 and FIG. 7 , the first housing assembly 101 further includes a first through hole 109 and a second through hole 110 spaced apart from each other. An end of the first through hole 109 is in communication with the liquid substrate portion below the liquid level in the first liquid storage cavity 103, and the other end of the first through hole 109 extends to a right end of an inner wall of the first accommodating cavity 108. The second through hole 110 is located above the first through hole 109 along a longitudinal direction of the electronic atomization device 100. An end of the second through hole 110 is in communication with the air portion above the liquid level in the first liquid storage cavity 103, and the other end of the second through hole 110 extends to the right end of the inner wall of the first accommodating cavity 108. - The second housing assembly 201 further includes a third through hole 203 and a fourth through hole 204 spaced apart from each other. An end of the third through hole 203 is in communication with the liquid substrate portion below the liquid level in the second liquid storage cavity 202, and the other end of the third through hole 203 protrudes from an outer surface of a right end of the second housing assembly 201. The fourth through hole 204 is located above the third through hole 203 along a longitudinal direction of the electronic atomization device 100. An end of the fourth through hole 204 is in communication with the air portion above the liquid level in the second liquid storage cavity 202, and the other end of the fourth through hole 204 protrudes from the outer surface of the right end of the second housing assembly 201.
- When the second housing assembly 201 is connected to the first housing assembly 101, at least part of a wall defining the third through hole 203 extends into the first through hole 109, so that the liquid substrate portion below the liquid level in the first liquid storage cavity 103 is in communication with the liquid substrate portion below the liquid level in the second liquid storage cavity 202. At least part of a wall defining the fourth through hole 204 extends into the second through hole 110, so that the air portion above the liquid level in the first liquid storage cavity 103 is in communication with the air portion above the liquid level in the second liquid storage cavity 202.
- In this case, the third through hole 203 and/or the first through hole 109 define a liquid channel (a first channel). An end of the liquid channel is in communication with the liquid substrate portion below the liquid level in the first liquid storage cavity 103, and the other end of the liquid channel is in communication with the liquid substrate portion below the liquid level in the second liquid storage cavity 202. The fourth through hole 204 and/or the second through hole 110 define an air channel (a second channel). An end of the air channel is in communication with the air portion above the liquid level in the first liquid storage cavity 103, and the other end of the air channel is in communication with the air portion above the liquid level in the second liquid storage cavity 202. The air channel can balance air pressures in the first liquid storage cavity 103 and the second liquid storage cavity 202, so that the second liquid substrate stored in the second liquid storage cavity 202 can smoothly flow into the first liquid storage cavity 103 through the liquid channel, so as to replenish a liquid substrate for consumption to the first liquid storage cavity 103 in time.
- In a further implementation, as understood with reference to
FIG. 4 , the third through hole 203 is arranged near a bottom wall of the second housing assembly 201. The bottom wall of the second housing assembly 201 is inclined toward the third through hole 203, or the bottom wall of the second housing assembly 201 has an inclined surface 201a1 inclined to the third through hole 203. In this way, the liquid substrate in the second liquid storage cavity 202 may better flow into the first liquid storage cavity 103 instead of being accumulated in the second liquid storage cavity 202, thereby avoiding a waste of the liquid substrate. - In a further implementation, as understood with reference to
FIG. 8 , the electronic atomization device 100 further includes a first thin-film member 111 and a second thin-film member 112 that may be pierceable. The first thin-film member 111 is arranged in the first through hole 109, and is arranged close to the other end of the first through hole 109 or the first accommodating cavity 108. The first thin-film member 111 is configured to close the first through hole 109. The second thin-film member 112 is arranged in the second through hole 110, and is arranged close to the other end of the second through hole 110 or the first accommodating cavity 108. The second thin-film member 112 is configured to close the second through hole 110. - The liquid storage component 200 further includes a third thin-film member 205 and a fourth thin-film member 206 that may be pierceable. The third thin-film member 205 is arranged in the third through hole 203, and is arranged close to the other end of the third through hole 203. The third thin-film member 205 is configured to close the third through hole 203. The fourth thin-film member 206 is arranged in the fourth through hole 204, and is arranged close to the other end of the fourth through hole 204. The fourth thin-film member 206 is configured to close the fourth through hole 204.
- The first thin-film member 111, the second thin-film member 112, the third thin-film member 205, and the fourth thin-film member 206 are all made of a flexible material, such as a silicone material. For a thickness setting of the thin-film members, on the one hand, closure of the through holes needs to be considered to avoid a liquid substrate leakage, and on the other hand, a consideration is needed that a user can puncture the thin-film members relatively easily.
- During actual use, the liquid storage component 200 may be connected to the electronic atomization device 100 at any time before the first liquid substrate in the first liquid storage cavity 103 is completely consumed. Before the liquid storage component 200 is connected to the electronic atomization device 100, namely, before the second housing assembly 201 is connected to the first housing assembly 101, the first thin-film member 111, the second thin-film member 112, the third thin-film member 205, and the fourth thin-film member 206 may be punctured through a single piercing member, and then the second housing assembly 201 is connected to the first housing assembly 101.
- In a preferred implementation, as shown in
FIG. 8 , the electronic atomization device 100 further includes a first piercing member 113 and a second piercing member 114. An end of the first piercing member 113 extends into the first through hole 109 and is arranged close to the first thin-film member 111. The other end of the first piercing member 113 may be fixedly connected to a component in the first housing assembly 101. The end of the first piercing member 113 is in a needle-like or knife-like structure. An end of the second piercing member 114 extends into the second through hole 110 and is arranged close to the second thin-film member 112. The other end of the second piercing member 114 may be fixedly connected to the component in the first housing assembly 101. The end of the second piercing member 114 is in a needle-like or knife-like structure. In this way, when the other end of the third through hole 203 extends into the first through hole 109, the other end of the third through hole 203 presses the first thin-film member 111 to enable it to deform toward the end of the first piercing member 113. When it is continually extended, the first piercing member 113 may puncture the first thin-film member 111 and the third thin-film member 205 in sequence. Similarly, when the other end of the fourth through hole 204 extends into the second through hole 110, the other end of the fourth through hole 204 presses the second thin-film member 112 to enable it to deform toward the end of the second piercing member 114. When it is continually extended, the second piercing member 114 may puncture the second thin-film member 112 and the fourth thin-film member 206 in sequence. - In a further implementation, as understood with reference to
FIG. 8 , a first seal member is arranged between the first through hole 109 and the third through hole 203, so as to seal a gap between the first through hole 109 and the third through hole 203. A second seal member is arranged between the second through hole 110 and the fourth through hole 204, so as to seal a gap between the second through hole 110 and the fourth through hole 204. The first seal member and the second seal member are both made of a flexible material, such as silica gel. - Specifically, the first seal member includes a second partial seal member 115 and a first partial seal member 207. The second partial seal member 115 is arranged on an inner surface of a wall defining the first through hole 109, and the first partial seal member 207 is arranged on an outer surface of the wall defining the third through hole 203. In a preferred implementation, the second partial seal member 115, for example, a ring-shaped seal member, extends along a circumferential direction of the inner surface of the wall defining the first through hole 109. The first partial seal member 207, for example, the ring-shaped seal member, extends along a circumferential direction of the outer surface of the wall defining the third through hole 203. When the wall defining the third through hole 203 extends into the first through hole 109, the first partial seal member 207 and the second partial seal member 115 press each other to form a good sealing effect. Specifically, the first partial seal member 207 is sandwiched between the second partial seal member 115 and the outer surface of the wall defining the third through hole 203. For example, a ring-shaped first partial seal member 207 is at least partially accommodated in a ring-shaped second partial seal member 115. Similarly, the second seal member includes a fourth partial seal member 116 and a third partial seal member 208. The fourth partial seal member 116 is arranged on an inner surface of a wall defining the second through hole 110, and the third partial seal member 208 is arranged on an outer surface of the wall defining the fourth through hole 204. When the wall defining the fourth through hole 204 extends into the second through hole 110, the third partial seal member 208 and the fourth partial seal member 116 press each other, thereby forming a good sealing effect.
- It should be noted that the first partial seal member 207 and the third thin-film member 205 may be formed integrally or separately. Similarly, the third partial seal member 208 and the fourth thin-film member 206, the second partial seal member 115 and the first thin-film member 111, and the fourth partial seal member 116 and the second thin-film member 112 may also be arranged in this way.
- It should be noted that the foregoing electronic atomization device 100 and the liquid storage component 200 are independent of each other. Before the electronic atomization device 100 is not connected to the liquid storage component 200 (namely, before the second housing assembly 201 is not connected to the first housing assembly 101), the electronic atomization device 100 may be used alone and puffed, and the atomization assembly 104 only atomizes the first liquid substrate. After the electronic atomization device 100 is connected to the liquid storage component 200 (namely, after the second housing assembly 201 is connected to the first housing assembly 101), the atomization assembly 104 may not only atomize the first liquid substrate, but also atomize the second liquid substrate. A combination of the electronic atomization device 100 and the liquid storage component 200 may also be referred to as an electronic atomization device.
- It should be further noted that a plurality of liquid storage components 200 may be provided.
- An electronic atomization device provided in another embodiment of this application is described below with reference to
