Description

    Object of the invention
  • The purpose of this specification is to describe a smart electronic strike plate for windows and doors, designed to sense and communicate in real time the status of the enclosure using loT technology, without the need for external sensors. The invention makes it possible to identify whether the window or door is open, closed or in the tilt and turn position, sending this information to the cloud for its monitoring via a mobile application. In addition, it incorporates an accelerometer for sensing break-in attempts, improving the security of the enclosure and enabling its integration with alarm systems. Its design allows it to be installed in the same housing as a conventional strike plate, facilitating its implementation without structural modifications in the manufacture of enclosures.
  • Background of the invention
  • At present, conventional window and door enclosure systems do not have integrated technology to monitor their status in real time nor to sense tampering or break-in attempts efficiently. Most solutions on the market rely on external contact sensors, alarm systems or additional devices that require specific installation and, in many cases, modifications to the structure of the enclosure. This not only makes the implementation process more expensive, but also introduces limitations in terms of compatibility and durability.
  • Among the available solutions are opening and closing sensors, which usually consist of two parts fitted to the leaf and the frame of the enclosure. These sensors, usually magnetic or contact sensors, sense whether the window or door is open or closed, but do not provide information on other intermediate states, such as tilt and turn position. In addition, they require additional electrical power or batteries, increasing the maintenance required.
  • Another common alternative on the market are vibration sensors and external accelerometers, used to sense impacts or break-in attempts on the enclosure. However, these sensors are usually installed on the surface of the frame or leaf, which makes them visible and susceptible to tampering or deactivation by an intruder. They are also installed separately from the strike, which makes them difficult to integrate into the window and door manufacturing process.
  • In the field of advanced security, some manufacturers have developed enclosure systems with home automation integration, allowing them to be connected to home automation platforms. However, these solutions are often limited to premium ranges, require modifications in the manufacturing of the enclosure and are not always accessible to most manufacturers. Furthermore, its main focus is locking and opening automation, without incorporating specific functions for sensing intrusion attempts or alterations in the state of the enclosure.
  • Faced with these limitations, the present invention proposes a smart electronic strike plate that integrates in a single component the sensing of enclosure status, the ability to generate security alerts and IoT connectivity, without the need for external sensors or structural modifications in the manufacture of windows and doors. This solution optimises the security and control of the enclosure, reducing implementation costs and facilitating its adoption in the industry.
  • Description of the invention
  • The technical problem solved by the present invention is the lack of a system integrated in the strike plate that allows the status of the strike plate to be sensed and communicated in real time without the need for external sensors.
  • To this end, the smart electronic strike plate for windows and doors, which is the subject of this utility model, incorporates in its structure a system for sensing the status of the enclosure based on contactors strategically located at the inlets where the leaf bolts fit. These contactors identify whether the window or door is open, closed or in the tilt and turn position, sending this information in real time to a cloud platform via an integrated communications module. In addition, the strike plate has an accelerometer that senses impacts or tampering attempts, generating security alerts when the system is activated.
  • Due to its design, the strike plate has the same dimensions and anchoring system as a conventional strike plate, which allows it to be installed in the same housing without the need for structural modifications to the enclosure. This facilitates their integration into the window and door manufacturing process, allowing manufacturers to offer an advanced security solution without disrupting their production line. In addition, by not requiring additional sensors or external cabling, it reduces implementation costs and simplifies industry adoption.
  • The system is powered by two 1200mAh AAA batteries, the energy management of which is optimised to provide an autonomy of more than two years, minimising the need for maintenance. The user can monitor the status of the enclosure and receive security alerts via a mobile application, with the possibility of integrating the system with an ARC (Alarm Receiving Centre) for a rapid response to intrusion attempts.
  • The main advantages of the present invention are integration without structural modifications, as it is installed in the same space as a conventional strike plate, real-time monitoring via loT connectivity without the need for additional sensors, and increased security due to the sensing of break-in attempts with integrated accelerometer. In addition, it has an optimised autonomy, with an efficient energy consumption that allows more than two years of operation with AAA batteries, and its ease of implementation in the manufacture of enclosures, providing manufacturers with added value without increasing production costs.
  • Ultimately, the present invention provides a novel solution that combines status sensing functionality, IoT connectivity and active security in a single component, significantly improving the security and control of windows and doors without affecting the aesthetics and structure of the enclosure.
  • Brief description of the figures
  • What follows is a very brief description of a series of drawings that aid in better understanding the invention and which are expressly related to an embodiment of said invention that is presented by way of a non-limiting example of the same.
