Description
Device and system for inhaling vapors of an aqueous solution of potassium iodide
The subject of the invention is a device and system for inhaling vapors of an aqueous solution of potassium iodide, especially in closed rooms, connected to air conditioning systems.
For proper human functioning, it is necessary to provide the body with the required dose of iodine. Most often, iodine is delivered to the body together with table salt. However, excessive consumption of table salt may lead to negative consequences (hypertension).
From the patent description PL224977 there is a portable brine humidifier which has a casing with a cavity equipped with a drip plate and below the drip plate there is a brine tank with a pump that forces it from the tank to a reservoir equipped with outlets directing the brine to the developed surface of the drip plate. A first longitudinal air outlet is formed between the drip plate and the front wall of the housing in the upper part of the housing, and a second longitudinal air outlet is formed in the lower part of the housing between the drip plate and the front wall of the tank. The humidifier is equipped with a fan and a brine bubbler in the tank, where the fan is connected on the suction side to the surroundings and the pressure side is connected to the first air outlet, while the bubbler is connected to the compressed air source and placed in the tank so that it is at least partially below second air outlet. A portable brine humidifier is used to produce salt aerosols in the air, especially iodine -bromine aerosols, as well as to increase the air humidity in rooms.
The patent application PL399966 presents an element of the ventilation system with a material dispensing an aromatherapy substance , in which the internal surfaces of the structural elements of the spigot, between the fan and the outlet opening, are covered with a coating with a material dispensing the aromatherapy substance , and also mounted inside the spigot, between the fan and the outlet opening, there is an additional insert covered with a coating with a material dispensing the aromatherapy substance .
An air humidifier is known from the description of utility model W.118086. An air humidifier, especially a decorative one connected to a building structure, has a body located at the bottom of a waterproof recess, with a decorative surface facing the recess outlet. The decorative surface is moistened with water flowing from the outlets and illuminated with a series of lighting points.
A device for cooling, purifying, drying or humidifying air is known from the description of patent application P.322671. The device contains a refrigeration system and a humidification system, which are located in a thermally insulating housing, equipped with an inlet grille, equipped with a filter and an outlet grille. The cooling system consists of a set of replaceable containers filled with ice, while the humidification system consists of a tray, a tank and an easily wettable material.
The technical problem is to carry out the process of replenishing iodine in the body without administering it in the form of table salt, in the form of inhalation with water vapor, and to adjust the level of iodine in the air to the actual conditions in the room where the inhalation is carried out, so as to optimize the absorption of iodine, while not harming the people inhaled and so as no t to overdose on the daily dose of iodine recommended by WHO.
The device according to the invention solves this problem by regulating the amount of water vapor containing potassium iodide solution along with controlling the humidity and temperature in the room where inhalation is carried out, allowing the
level of iodine in the air to be adjusted to the actual condi tions and inhalation time. At the same time, the device can be installed in a system in which the humidity and temperature in the room are regulated.
The device for inhaling vapors of an aqueous solution of potassium iodide according to the invention, comprising a humidifier including a container for an aqueous solution of potassium iodide, is characterized in that the device contains a system of evaporation, mechanically generated evaporation or vibration of an ultrasonic membrane for generating fog potassium iodide solution in a system with a capacity ranging from 300 to 3000 mL / h connected to a system of blowing the generated mist into the ventilation duct of the room where the system is in the form of adjustable fans flow and the ultrasonic humidifier control system is connected to the air temperature and humidity measurement system at the entrance of the supply system.
Alternatively, the inhalation device is a free-standing device.
The system for inhaling vapors of an aqueous potassium iodide solution according to the invention in closed rooms is characterized in that it includes at least one device for inhaling vapors of an aqueous potassium iodide solution and generating a fog of the potassium iodide solution, connected to at least one ventilation duct of the air supply room and working with it in a closed system with at least one ventilation duct sucking air from the room, equipped with a drying system in the form of heaters and an air cooling system, the control system of which is connected to the control system of ultrasonic humidifiers for producing fog.
Preferably, the system is connected to temperature or humidity sensors in the room. Preferably, the system is connected to the air conditioning system in the room.
The device's operation is based on three points:
1) A battery of ultrasonic membranes - an ultrasound generator immersed in the solution (KI) transforms the liquid phase into mist above the solution.
2) The device's blowing system generates airflows (directly above the fog and lifting it at an appropriate angle from below) distributing the resulting fog appropriately in the room if it is a free-standing device or in the ventilation ducts if it is built into an air conditioning system.
3) When working in the system described in the solution, air is simultaneously sucked in from the room, the humidity level and temperature of which are measured and then appropriately adjusted to obtain optimal conditions for inhalation. The effect of the device's operation is the distribution of an aqueous solution of iodine ions, in the form of fog, in the room where the humidity and the concentration of iodine that can be absorbed by inhalation increase.
The adapted solution allows you to control the intensity of fog generation and the amount of iodine introduced into the air in the room based on the conditions in the room, additionally, the elements installed in the system allow for the regulation of air humidity and temperature, coupled with the control system for devices generating iodine fog, allowing the control of all elements that affect the absorption of iodine by people staying in the room.
In the embodiment shown in the drawing, where Fig 1 shows a diagram of a device 1 for inhalation of vapors of an aqueous solution of potassium iodide, containing an ultrasonic humidifier 2, including a container for an aqueous solution of potassium iodide 3, a system of ultrasonic membranes 4 forming an ultrasonic humidifier for producing a mist of potassium iodide solution in a system of ultrasonic membranes with capacity ranging from 300 to 3000 mL / h, connected to the system of blowing 5 mist of potassium iodide solution into the ventilation duct.
Fig. 2 shows the operation diagram of the device 1 where the potassium iodide solution is fed into the ventilation duct 6 of the room, where the system consists of fans 7 with regulated flow and the humidifier control system 8 is connected to the air temperature and humidity measurement system 9 at the entrance of the supply system.
Humidity measurement is important because the humidity in the room is a side effect of the emitting device's operation, but it is crucial for the subjective sense of comfort of people staying in the room during an inhalation session and cannot ultimately exceed 95%. Moreover, crystallization of aqueous KI solutions may be an important unfavorable factor (applies to both crystallization in the device and in the room.)
Fig. 3 shows a diagram of the operation of the system which includes two humidifiers
11 for producing potassium iodide solution mist connected to one ventilation duct
12 of the room for supply and one ventilation duct 13 working with it in a closed system, sucking air from the room, equipped with a dehumidification system 14 in the form of heaters, and an air cooling system 15, the control system of which 16 is connected to the control system of humidifiers 17 for generating mist.
The system is connected to temperature and humidity sensors 18 in the room.
The guns are arranged separately from the air conditioning system in the room, but it is also possible to implement the invention where the system is connected to the air conditioning ventilation ducts or supplies fog to several rooms in parallel.
The aim of the invention is to obtain the level of iodine ions collected from the room so that the level is above > 50 μg/L and is preferably in the range of 80 - 300 μg/l
The invention is used primarily in sanatoriums or other places where inhalations are carried out regularly, but it is also possible to use the invention at home.
The given embodiments do not exhaust the possibilities of using the invention.
