Description
Conveyor arrangement
Description
The invention relates to a conveyor arrangement.
At the end points in a parcel distribution center, parcels are loaded into delivery trucks that are assigned to specific target regions. A sorter, for example a crossbelt sorter e.g. WO 2019/002048 A1 , sorts the parcels and feeds them to the individual end points. To overcome height differences, inclined chutes are used between the sorter and the end point, in which the packages slide along due to gravity. This can cause damage to the packages. In addition, package jams frequently occur, which can pressurize packages at the bottom and thus damage them.
EP 1 868 923 B1 discloses an end point chute with two rollers running transversely to the conveying direction of the chute and driven in the conveying direction. The speed of one roller is selected to be higher than another roller the closer the respective roller is to the exit side.
DE 10 2019 119 696 A1 discloses a conveying device for converting a serially transported stream of unit loads into a parallel transported stream of unit loads.
DE 10 2010 005 267 A1 discloses a piece goods distribution system with an automatic sorting system. A manual distribution area and a conveying device are provided. The conveyor device has a conveyor head with a receiving area for manually placing piece goods. The conveyor head can be displaced in space.
DE 197 19 748 C2 discloses a device for handling packages for loading and unloading a cargo hold in which the packages are stacked on top of each other.
EP 2 922 775 B1 discloses a brake roller based on magnetic eddy current. This brake can brake a conveyed object, but not hold it at a standstill.
It is the object of the present invention to provide an improved conveyor arrangement. This is solved by a device according to the main claim; embodiments are the subject of the subclaims as well as the description.
The invention is particularly suitable for conveying postal packages as conveyed goods and/or for conveying polybags as conveyed goods. Polybags are film-packed conveyed goods without a rigid outer contour.
A suitable conveyed item, in particular a postal package , has a weight of 20kg, which does not exclude the use of lighter and heavier packages. In particular, the conveyor arrangement is set up to convey a conveyed item, in particular a postal package of 50 kg. In addition, it may also be possible to convey so-called polybags, i.e. conveyed goods that are packaged in a film, such as items of clothing.
An end station is an area where the object to be conveyed is stored, at least for a short time, in order to be transferred from there to a delivery truck, for example.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the figures; herein show: figure 1 schematically a side view of a conventional conveyor arrangement; figure 2 schematically an embodiment of an inventive conveyor arrangement having a buffer device in the passing state a) in side view, b) in view along the conveying direction; figure 3 schematically the embodiment of figure 2 in the buffering state a) in side view, b) in view along the conveying direction; figure 4 schematically a side view of another embodiment of an inventive conveyor arrangement having a buffer device in the passing state; figure 5 schematically a side view of the embodiment of figure 4 in the buffering state; figure 6 schematically a side view of the embodiment of a) figure 2, b) figure 4, each having more than one buffer devices.
Figure 1 shows a conventional conveyor arrangement 1 . An object 9 to be conveyed, for example a postal package, is fed by a sorter 7, in particular a crossbelt sorter. From the sorter 7, the conveyed object 9 passes a chute 11 , in each case to a terminal destination 4. At the terminal destination 4, the conveyed object is stored temporarily in order to be transferred from there to a delivery truck 8.
The chutes 11 each comprise a takeover area A1 , followed by a chute area A2. In the chute area A2, the conveyed object 9 slides downward at least in sections to reach a transfer area
A3. In the chute area A2, very large height differences are overcome in some cases. Due to space optimization, chute area A2 is therefore very steep, which leads to a large acceleration of the conveyed object 9. This could lead to damage to the conveyed object 9, in particular when it hits the terminal destination 4.
The below described inventive conveyor arrangement 1 comprises the features of the above explained conventional arrangement. In addition the specific features of the embodiments are described below.
Figures 2 and 3 show details of an inventive development of the conveyor arrangement 1 in a first embodiment. The conveyor arrangement 1 comprises a buffer device 5 capable of buffering an object 9 temporarily in the chute area A2.
The buffer device comprises a buffer belt 51 . The buffer belt 51 is wound around deflection rollers 52, one of which is a motorized roller having an integrated belt drive 53. The belt drive may alternatively be separate to the defection roller 52. The operation of the buffer belt 51 is controlled by a buffer control 54.
The buffer belt 51 can be transferred between a passing state and a buffering state. In the passing state (figure 2) the object 9 can be conveyed along the chute area A2, without being stopped by the buffer belt 51 . In the buffering state (figure 3) the object is stopped by the buffer belt 51 with in the chute area A2.
For enabling the above functionality the buffer belt 51 has two sections. In a first, passing section 51 P a passing window is provided. The object 9 may pass the belt through the passing window, in case that the passing window is aligned with object 9.
The buffer belt 51 comprises a second, barrier section 51 B. In case the barrier section 51 B is aligned in the way of the object 9, the object 9 is hindered from passing the buffer belt 51.
For transferring the buffer belt 51 from the passing state into the buffering state, the belt is driven by the belt drive 53. Sensors 55 may be provided to observe the area of the buffer belt 51 , to avoid damages to the objects 9. The sensors 55 may be of any kind e.g. camera, light barrier presence sensor, or the like.
The buffering belt 51 has two circumferential laces 51 L, that enclose the window in the passing section 51 P and the barrier section 51 B. The laces 51 L and the 51 P barrier section 5B may be made from one piece or may be made separately and joined together.
Figures 4 and 5 show details of an inventive development of the conveyor arrangement 1 in a second embodiment. The conveyor arrangement 1 comprises a buffer device 5 capable of buffering an object 9 temporarily in the chute area A2.
The buffer device 5 comprises a buffer belt 51 . The buffer belt 51 is held between two fasteners 56, where the buffer belt 51 is supported centrally by a deflection roller 52. A belt drive 53 is adapted to change the tensioning of the buffer belt 51.
The buffer belt 51 can be transferred between a passing state and a buffering state. In the passing state (figure 4) the object 9 can be conveyed along the chute area A2. Here the tension of the buffer belt 51 is increased, so that the objects 9 can slide along the buffer belt 51 as a part of the chute 11 rand/or the chute area A2.
In the buffering state the tension of the buffer belt 51 is decreased, so that the buffer belt 51 forms a downward curved accommodation space 57 where objects 9 can be collected. The object 9 is captured by gravity within the accommodation space 57 and consequently stopped by said buffer belt 51 .
For transferring the buffer belt 51 form the passing state into the buffering state, the buffer belt 51 is tensioned by a belt drive 53. Here the belt drive is adapted to change the position of one of the fasteners 56.
The sensor 55 mentioned in the first embodiment may be provided as well in the second embodiment.
Figure 6 shows embodiments of the above inventive conveyor arrangements 1 , wherein more than one buffer devices 5 are comprised with in the chute area A2. The buffer devices 5 are arranged subsequently so that the object 9 passes the plurality of buffer devices 5 one after the other.
