Abstract

The present invention relates to a wall bracket. More specifically, it is an L-shaped bracket for use on the outer surface of a wall to which a coat is applied and is suitable for attaching shutters or similar elements.

Description

BRACKET FOR WALLS
Specification
The present invention relates to a wall bracket. More specifically, it is an L- shaped bracket to be attached to the outer surface of a wall to bind shutters or similar elements.
As is well known, for the energy upgrading of buildings, it is common to apply what is known as a thermal coat to the exterior wall.
This is an insulating envelope applied to the exterior of the building to minimize heat loss from the existing masonry, so as to ensure energy savings by reducing the cost of air conditioning in the rooms.
Thermal insulation is usually achieved by applying insulating panels to the outer surface of the wall to be insulated.
This operation implies, therefore, a repositioning of the shutters towards the outside of the building, so that, when opening, they go to rest on the new external surface.
L-shaped brackets are used to fix the shutters, which are joined to the original wall and are flush with the insulation panels applied to the same original wall.
The brackets according to the known technique are usually made of polyurethane foam, so as to improve the thermal insulation of the wall even at the brackets themselves.
However, the use of this material does not guarantee obtaining brackets with a solid and long-lasting structure, as the shutters are usually quite heavy.
Another issue with brackets according to the known technique lies in their lack of flexibility in use.
In fact, shutters can be constrained with appropriate hinges on the edge of the hole or on the outer surface of the wall.
For this reason, brackets are marketed, according to a first type, useful for fastening the shutters on the edge of the hole and brackets, according to a second type, useful for fastening the shutters on the new external surface of the wall.
The operator must therefore purchase the brackets well knowing where the shutters are to be fixed, whether in the edge of the hole or on the outer surface of the wall.
This necessity makes it impractical to use the brackets according to the known technique.
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a bracket for walls to be thermally insulated and to which shutters or similar items are to be attached, a bracket that is stable and durable.
A further purpose of the invention is to provide a bracket that is flexible in its use.
Another purpose of the invention is to provide a bracket for shutters or similar elements that can be used independently of the positioning of the hinges of the shutters.
These and other purposes are achieved by a bracket for walls to be thermally insulated and to which shutters or similar elements are attached, according to the appended claims.
Further features and details may be better understood from the following description, given as a non-limiting example, as well as from the attached drawing board, in which: fig. 1 is a schematic axonometric view of a bracket according to the invention; fig. 2 is a cross-sectional side view according to a transverse plane, of the bracket of fig. 1 ; fig. 3 is an axonometric view of a wall to be thermally insulated to which four brackets according to the invention are attached.
With reference to the attached figures, a bracket to be applied to a wall P to be thermally insulated by applying insulating panels L is identified as 10.
In particular, such a bracket 10 is used for attaching shutters or other similar elements.
As shown in Figure 1 , bracket 10 comprises a main structure 11 , made of thermoplastic material, which has an L-shaped conformation and includes a horizontal portion 12 and a vertical portion 14.
Three fixing holes 16 are cut in the horizontal portion 12 useful for accommodating screws or other means of fastening to stably bind bracket 10 to wall P.
Adjacent to each fixing hole 16 is a threaded hole 17, inside of which grub screws can be screwed.
Such grains, projecting toward the supporting wall, act as an aid to align the bracket face.
In addition, a longitudinal seat 13 suitable for accommodating a plug that closes openings such as the mounting holes 16 and the threaded holes 17 is cut in the lower part of the horizontal portion 12.
In this way, the plug keeps the air inside to act as an insulator and creates a planar surface where the adhesive can be distributed.
The vertical portion 14 includes an upper face 18 and a side face 20.
Embedded in the vertical portion 14 is an L-shaped profile 22 clearly visible in Figure 2, comprising a first portion 24 and a second portion 26 orthogonal to each other.
The L-profile 22 is made of aluminum or polymer material, but it can also be made of other material.
The L-profile 22 is arranged within the vertical portion 14 so that the first portion 24 is adjacent to the top face 18 and the second portion 26 is adjacent to the side face 20.
The L-profile 22 allows stable attachment of the hinges of the shutters.
Specifically, as visible in Figure 3, the hinges can be attached to both the side face 20 as well as the top face 18 of bracket 10, as the L-profile 22 ensures stable and durable attachment for both positions.
Bracket 10 according to the invention is then first glued to the wall, and once the adhesive has set, fixing to the wall is also done by means of expansion plugs at the fixing holes 16.
Variants and methods of embodiment other than those illustrated above are possible and are to be considered within the scope of protection defined by the appended claims.
For example, the number and location of fixing holes may be different from what was previously described.
The bracket may conform differently from an L, but still ensure the attachment of shutters or similar elements both laterally and above.

Claims

1. Bracket (10) for walls to be thermally insulated and to which shutters or similar elements are to be attached, having a main structure (11 ) having an L-shape, and comprising a horizontal portion (12) and a vertical portion (14), wherein the vertical portion (14) comprises an upper face (18) and a side face (20), characterized by the fact that the vertical portion (14) includes an L-shape profile (22) comprising a first portion (24) and a second portion (26), and that the first portion (24) of the L-shape profile (22) is adjacent to the top face (18) of the vertical portion (14) and the second portion (26) of the L-shape profile (22) is adjacent to the side face (20) of the vertical portion (14).
2. Bracket (10) according to the preceding claim, wherein the main structure (11 ) is made from a first material and the L-shaped profile (22) is made from a second material, the first material and the second material being different from each other.
3. Bracket (10) according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the main structure (11 ) is made of a thermoplastic material.
4. Bracket (10) according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the L-shaped profile (22) is made of aluminum or polymeric material.
5. Bracket (10) according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the L-shaped profile (22) is embedded in the main structure (11 ).
6. Bracket (10) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein at least one fixing hole (16) is machined into the main structure (11 ).
7. Bracket (10) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein in the main structure (11 ) the at least one hole (17) is machined.
8. Bracket (10) according to any of the preceding claims, wherein a longitudinal seat (13) is obtained in the lower portion of the horizontal portion (12).
