Description
- The present invention relates to a device for controlled waste depositing which controls the disposal of a waste. It is also an object of the invention a waste container integrating the aforesaid device.
- A waste collection in urban areas is usually done with the help of special containers, conveniently placed in the city area to enable citizens to dispose of a waste. Waste containers are periodically emptied by companies authorized to collect and transport the waste with specially equipped vehicles, which transport waste to places designated for processing. For the purpose of the waste collection in the city environment, where separate collection is required, they are ready, each for itself, intended for a separation or disposal of each specific type of waste according to the users.
- In order to enable a control and supervision of the user how he disposes of waste, the proposed solution of the invention also enables a recording of a waste disposal after identification of the user.
- The present invention includes a locking mechanism preventing direct unauthorized waste disposal, making it possible only after unlocking an access to a waste deposit drum with the use of a user key coded to the name of the user of a device of the present invention. With the same key, the user can unlock any device for controlled waste depositing in an area of operation of the waste collection and transport company with which the user has entered into a contract. By inserting the code user key into a lock, the device is automatically activated following the user identification sequence. The device for controlled waste depositing does not use electricity for its operation, but bases its work on pure mechanical work.
- One of the disadvantages related to devices for this purpose that are currently in use is their relative vulnerability to external disturbances.
- In particular, it is possible to confirm that the systems currently in use disrupt themselves by encouraging malicious users who are ready to initiate the procedure by inserting cards or other flexible thin elements into the gap between the movable parts near the disposal opening, until they achieve the unlocking of the locking mechanism so that they can dispose of waste without identification, for example anonymous disposal of materials other than those prescribed by separate collection, or to bypass the tariff collection based on the number of disposed waste making and/or a smaller amount of disposal of the user.
- The next problem that appears in the existing devices is the malfunctions that occur when the user tries to open a mechanism of a disposal opening, controlled by a lever and/or a foot lever, when he has not yet completed the identification. In this case, it can easily happen that the mechanical parts under the action of the user's force on the lever or foot lever are not able to move the necessary unlocking mechanism of the disposal opening when the electronic interface, with the recognition of the user's code, enables the disposal operation.
- In many cases, the user explains the failure of the unlock as a malfunction of the system, and places his nameless waste next to the container. Another problem that is increasingly appearing in the field is the demand for devices that can work successfully without the need to connect to an electrical supply network. Such requirements are typically met with the use of independent battery power, which can be supplemented by the use of photovoltaic cells. However, the use of these independent battery supplies requires an important need to reduce the energy consumption of the IT and automated tank equipment as much as possible, and especially the electromechanical locking system used to lock and unlock the hatch. The use of battery devices requires regular maintenance, but low temperatures often cause malfunctions. This invention uses exclusively mechanical work for its operation, which is performed in the form of turning a key, which moves a lever mechanism that allows the user to open the waste deposit drum for depositing waste. After closing the waste deposit drum, the mechanism locks automatically.
- The object of the present invention is to provide an improved device that is effectively protected against any interference at the moment of an attempt to unlock the storage hatch by an act of fraud, which is achieved by the high security of the protection of a lock and key used.

The cylindrical drum bottom 23 is coupled to a shaft 24 by a hinge assembly where the cylindrical drum bottom 23 is configured to rotate around the shaft 24. The lever 25 is fixedly connected to the shaft 24, the lever 25 is extending over the side surface provided with the curved track 19. The lever 25 may be arranged in a first position when the disposal opening 26 of the of the waste deposit drum 3 is in the open position and in a second position when the disposal opening 26 of the of the waste deposit drum 3 is in the closed position. Said hinge assembly and the shaft 24 are arranged along an outer cylindrical surface of the waste deposit drum 3, the shaft 24 is fixed to the mechanism supports 6 and 22. The cylindrical drum bottom 23 is configured to slide inside an inner surface of the waste deposit drum 3, so when the waste deposit drum 3 rotates clockwise in the direction that allows garbage to be deposited into the waste deposit drum 3, the sliding track 19 pushes the lever 25 from the first position into the second position the disposal opening 26 enabling depositing the waste into the waste deposit drum 3, said drum 3 starts rotating counterclockwise, the curved track 19 also rotates enabling sliding of the lever 25 from the second position to the first position, rotating the cylindrical drum bottom 23 around the shaft 24 and coming out of the waste deposit drum 3 hanging freely thereby providing that the disposal opening 26 of the waste deposit drum 3 is in the open position. In position when the disposal opening 26 of the waste deposit drum 3 is in the open position, the disposal opening 26 is directed towards a bottom of the waste collection container 2 enabling the waste to fall out of the waste deposit drum 3 into the waste collection container 2.
- With reference to
figures 6 to 8 , the locking mechanism is arranged consisting of a lock 5 for receiving the coded user key, pivoting lever 7, slide stops 9 and 10, gravity brake 8, pivoting lever shaft 15, return spring 16 and first, second, third and fourth mechanical stops 11, 12, 13 and 14. The mechanism support 6 is fixedly connected to the device housing 17 and at the same time holds the waste deposit drum 3 and the pivoting lever 7. The pivoting lever 7 is arranged parallel to the mechanism support 6 and configured to oscillate around the pivoting lever shaft 15, the pivoting lever shaft 15 is arranged perpendicular to the shaft 18. The waste deposit drum 3 rotates around the drum shaft 18 and the pivot lever 7 around the pivoting lever shaft 15. - The lock 5 is fixed to the body of the device housing 17. By inserting the user key into the lock 5 and turning it for 180°, the locking mechanism is released and the user can lift the handle 4, open the waste deposit drum 3 and insert the waste through the disposal opening 26 into the waste deposit drum 3. Lowering the handle 4 closes the waste deposit drum 3 and the inserted waste falls into the waste container 2. For each waste deposit, the user must reinsert the user key and turn it.
- On one edge the pivoting lever 7 is configured to be pivotable around shaft 15 between a locked position and unlocked position. The pivoting lever 7 on an upper side oriented to the device housing 17 comprises two parallelly arranged first and second sliding stops 9 and10 connected to the pivoting lever 7 using frames enabling sliding of the first and second sliding stops 9 and10 towards and from the side surface of the waste deposit drum 3. The first sliding stop 9 is arranged between the lock 5 and the pivoting lever shaft 15 and the second sliding stop 10 is arranged between the pivoting lever shaft 15 and near an opposite end of the lock 5. At the opposite end of the lock 5, a lower side of the pivoting lever 7 comprises the return spring 16 connecting the mechanism support 6 and the pivoting lever 7. The return spring 16 is fixed internally to the lower side of the pivoting lever 7 and a side surface of the mechanism support 6, the return spring 16 is configured to push the pivot lever 7 to the initial locked position. The return spring 16 is configured to bring the pivot lever 7 into an initial locked position when the waste deposit drum 3 is in the closed position, before the action of the unlocking the lock 5. The return spring 16 operates between the pivoting lever 7 and the mechanism support 6 fixed internally to the lower side of the pivoting lever 7 and a side surface of the mechanism support 6, the return spring 16 is configured to push the pivot lever 7 to the initial locked position.
- By the action of unlocking the lock 5, lifting of the handle 4 to open the waste deposit drum 3 is enabled. As the user lifts the handle 4, the waste deposit drum 3 rotates around the drum shaft 18. When unlocking the lock 5 a lock latch is rotated by 45° the gravity brake 8 is released, the pivot lever 7 turns around the pivoting lever shaft 15 and activates the gravity brake 8 which prevents returning the pivot lever 7 into the initial locked position. The gravity brake 8 is rotatably connected to the pivot lever 7 and configured to prevent returning the pivot lever 7 into an initial locked position when the waste deposit drum 3 is in the closed position, before the action of the unlocking the lock 5. This enables the unhindered passage of the second and third mechanical stops 12 and 13 under the second sliding stop 10, and the first mechanical stop 11 skips the first sliding stop 9 preventing the waste deposit drum 3 from returning to its initial locked position, thus ensuring that the user has to complete the entire cycle.
- When the third mechanical stop 13 is pushed and the second sliding stop 10 passes, the waste deposit drum 3 has reached an end position (it is closed) and can no longer be opened, which is ensured by the third mechanical stop 13 and the second sliding stop 10. At the same time, the curved track 19 no longer acts on the lever 25, the cylindrical drum bottom 23 rotates around the shaft 24 enabling the waste to fall out of the waste deposit drum 3 into the waste collection container 2.
- The second and third mechanical stops 12 and 13 are fixedly attached to the side surface of the waste deposit drum 3 and arranged so that when the waste deposit drum 3 rotates clockwise they pass under the second sliding stop 10. Likewise, the fourth mechanical stop 14 is also attached to the side surface of the waste deposit drum 3 and arranged so that when the waste deposit drum 3 rotates clockwise the fourth mechanical stop 14 deactivates the gravity brake 8.
- Preferably, when the waste deposit drum 3 rotates to the end position, the fourth mechanical stop 14 deactivates the gravity brake 8, and by the action of the return spring 16, the pivot lever 7 rotates in the counter-clockwise direction and activates the second sliding stop 10.
- When rotating the waste deposit drum 3 to the end position, the lever 25 is brought into a position where the curved track 19 no longer acts on the lever 25, the cylindrical drum bottom 23 is automatically released enabling falling of the waste into the waste collection container 2.
- Preferably, at a moment when the user inserts the waste into the waste deposit drum 3, by lowering the handle 4, begins to rotate the waste deposit drum 3 in the counter-clockwise direction in order to close it and drop the waste into the waste collection container 2. Upon lowering the handle 4 and rotating the waste deposit drum 3 into the closed position, the fourth mechanical stop 14 is configured to deactivate the gravity brake 8 and the return spring 16 returns the pivoting lever 7 to the initial closed position, wherein simultaneously blocking the second and third mechanical stops 12 and 13 by the second sliding stop 10 preventing returning the waste deposit drum 3 to the open position.
- The rotation of the waste deposit drum 3 moves the second and third mechanical stops 12 and 13 under the second sliding stop 10, causing the waste deposit drum 3 to be in the closed position without any possibility to re-open it without re-inserting the user key 5.
- The pivoting lever 7, by the action of unlocking the lock 5, turns and activates the gravity brake 8, which prevents the return of the pivoting lever 7 to the initial position, which enables the unhindered passage of the second and third mechanical stops 12 and 13 under the second sliding stop 10, and the first mechanical stop 11 skips the first sliding stop 9 preventing the waste deposit drum 3 from returning to its initial position, thus ensuring that the user has to complete the entire cycle. During the rotation of the waste deposit drum 3 to the end open position, on the opposite base of the waste deposit drum 3, the curved track 19 acts on the lever of the 25 to raise the disposal opening 26 and prepare the space for depositing waste. By rotating the waste deposit drum to the end position, the fourth mechanical stop 14 deactivates the gravity brake 8 and the return spring 16 returns the pivoting lever 7 to the initial position, simultaneously producing the effect that the second and third mechanical stops 12,13 are blocked by the second sliding stop 10, and it is no longer possible to return the waste deposit drum 3 to the open state, but it is necessary to start a new cycle with the help of the user's key.
- Elements for unlocking and locking the device 1 are exclusively affected by mechanical forces that the user transmits via the handle 4 to all the mechanism assemblies except for those whose movement is caused by their own weight (gravity force).
- When the user's key unlocks the lock 5, the pivot lever 7 is turned and the user's key is returned to the initial position and removed from the lock 5 and no longer affecting the continuation of the cycle. The user's key is in the function of unlocking the device for controlled waste disposal 1, the locking/unlocking action is performed completely automatically by closing the waste deposit drum 3 by the user's action on the handle 4.
- Preferably, when the waste deposit drum 3 is closed the locking mechanism no longer allows re-opening. The next generation cycle is only possible after re-inserting the user key and activating the system, which results in a new recording of the waste disposal in the user's new cost record.
