Description

  • The present invention relates to a safe with opposed swing-doors for collecting and delivering valuables in a container.
  • More particularly, the invention relates to a safe of the above kind realised in such a way to allow the delivering and collecting valuables, without any time restraint, or due to the presence of personnel, without the risk that any discussion arises about the responsibility in case of undue collection of valuables.
  • The safe with opposed swing-doors according to the present invention provides an openable swing-door from inside and one openable from outside, and it can be installed into a "wall" or as a show window in the bank or post-office seats, and it can house inside a bag-shaped container containing money, cheques, bills, and other valuables.
  • Now, safes with opposed swing-doors, provided with an alternated blocking system or with an electronic sequential blocking system of the two swing-doors, allow the normal opening and closure of the safe even if inside the same a not-integral or tampered container is deposited, from one side or from the other one.
  • In other words, is within the safe an empty bag is introduced, or in case the bag is opened from the bottom, emptied and then the safe is closed again, there is no possibility of knowing the moment when the tampering occurred, as well as of knowing if it is due to the transporter, to the employee of the office or to a third party.
  • It is well evident that this situation determines a scarce use of these means to transfer valuables from and/or to bank and post-office branches to the respective Central Counters or Counter Centres specialised in processing valuables, since the problem exists to clearly distinguish and individuate the responsible of possible tampering of the bag containing the valuables, that could have occurred before or after the introduction of the bag within the safe, thus having the certainty that all the valuables sent arrives to the receiver without any tampering.
  • It is also known that at present the valuables transport service is carried out by specialised companies delivering and collecting valuables containers during the opening time of desks or counters and from the person in charge who terminates his responsibility by signing a receipt.
  • An operative system of this kind provides many well known drawbacks both for safety and optimisation of the service for the client, e.g. repetitiveness of time and habit of delivery and/or collection, conditions that should instead daily vary to prevent eventual delinquent attacks.
  • Furthermore, bank and post offices usually require the arrival of valuables very early in the morning to immediately satisfy the needing of the clients, said hours usually coinciding with the most busy traffic hours, so that a remarkable increase of costs arises for the transport company, said cost being connected with the personnel and armoured cars necessary to exploit the services.
  • Another problem connected with this kind of procedure is that the delivery and/or collection are nearly always carried out when the premises are opened to the public, so that the latter is involuntarily subjected to the risks connected with a potential delinquent attack.
  • In the Italian patent N° 1,204,402, filed in the name of Safety Security System S.p.A., a high safety apparatus and method are described for transport, delivery and care of valuables.
  • The problem that is aimed to be solved by the present invention is that of finding a high safety system for collecting, transport, delivery and care of valuables, excluding the presence of personnel of the suburban bank seat receiving the money, and allowing to carry out the transport during the night, thus avoiding the above mentioned drawbacks.
  • The solution suggested provides an apparatus comprising a valuables-carrying suitcase, a microprocessor supported and fed within said suitcase, a memory in said microprocessor containing a secret code, electric contacts for closing the suitcase connected with said microprocessor and that will activate the generation of said secret code, a suitcase identification device connected with said microprocessor, an electronic terminal having an infrared ray optical reader to read said secret code when the suitcase is closed, a safe having at least a wing-door provided with an opening electronic servo-mechanism as well as infrared ray reading device electrically connected with a control device of said servo-mechanism, and supported therein.
  • It is further described a method to collect, transport and delivery valuables, comprising the steps of:
    • putting the valuables to be transported within a valuables-carrying suitcase provided with a microprocessor and that can be identified by data and codes;
    • generating and maintaining within a memory of said microprocessor inside the suitcase a secret code when closing the suitcase;
    • transmitting and printing said code on a paper support outer with respect to the suitcase;
    • introducing said paper support within a housing of the closed suitcase;
    • transporting and approaching the suitcase to a computerised safe of a suburban bank seat;
    • controlling identification data and codes of the closed suitcase by electronic reading means with the consequent opening of said safe after a positive control;
    • introducing the suitcase within the safe;
    • controlling again identification data and codes of the suitcase within the safe.
  • In the Italian patent N° 1,262,786 a bag type container for transport of valuables is described.
  • The problem faced by the inventor is that of allowing to distinguish the responsibility of the transporter with respect to those of the customer and of the receiver, putting at disposal of a bag container provided with blockable and checkable opening, so that the opening cannot be carried out by third unauthorised third party. Furthermore, the bag container can exchange information with the safe and with a suitable interface console.
  • The solution proposed provides a container comprising a bag made up of a suitable anti-tearing flexible material, a rigid frame, fixable to the opening of the bag in order to maintain the same always opened, a bulkhead group to intercept the opening of the bag, said group being movably mounted on the frame in such a way to move between an opening position and a closure position of the bag, blocking means of the interception bulkhead group in the closure position operable by a key, activation and deactivation means for the blocking means controllable by key with a suitable seal or by forte means containing the bag container and is characterised in that it provides an electronic interface unit comprising at least a memory, a control unit and transmission means suitable to allow to the control unit to receive information to memorise them within a memory from said forte means containing the container and to provide to the same memorised data within the memory(s) and/or from suitable terminals.
  • This solution does not allow to completely solve the above mentioned problems, since for example it is not possible to reveal the time and thus the responsibility of a possible withdrawal of the values from the bottom of the bag, e.g. perforating, without involving the tampering of the opening of the same container.
  • Main object of the present of the present invention is that of providing a safe with opposed swing-doors able to solve all the above mentioned drawbacks, allowing the execution of the delivery and collection service without time restraints, in absence of the bank personnel, of public, and at the same time allowing to the valuables transport company to be able to operate with bigger decisional margins with respect to the time, paths, deliveries and collections to be carried out by a batter use of the employees and of the transport vans, with the consequent saves both for the Company and for the Clients, and a remarkable increase of safety.
  • The solution suggested according to present claim 1 allows to obtain advantages also for the post and bank systems being it possible to ensure to all the peripheral offices the availability of the required valuables already at the opening and immediately safely keeping the valuables during the working time, without the need of waiting the passage of the van at the end of the day.
  • The solution according to the present invention proposes a safe with opposed swing doors, wherein the opening of the two doors occurs according to an alternate direction and the opening is possible only if the safe contains inside a bag-shaped container, integral and not tampered both in the rigid upper part containing the bag closure mechanisms and the anchoring means with the forte means, and in the bottom portion suitable to contain the valuables and realised by a flexible material resisting to the shocks and tearings.
  • Furthermore, the solution according to the present invention provides that the metallic plate closing the bag is provided with two locks, each one operable by a specific key and provided with a keyhole cover to prevent to unduly obtain the negative of the lock, each lock being operable by a particular rotation system of the same plate, so that the bag, once closed, can be opened only by using the second lock in case before it has been opened by the first lock, and vice versa.
  • It is therefore specific object of the present invention a safe with opposed swing-doors for collecting and delivering valuables within a container, wherein said opposed swing-doors are each provided with a lock, key and combination, wherein two lateral sliding bars are provided, one for each door, provided with a movement allowing them to occupy, when the container is withdrawn and/or tampered, the space destined to the housing of the bolt of the opened swing-door, a first couple of digital electronic transceivers, laterally provided with respect to the safe, a second couple of transceivers, provided at the end of one of the bolts of each swing-door, able to exchange information with said first couple of transceivers, a sliding bar provided on the lower part of the safe, which is movable horizontally, in such a way to introduce in a suitable seat obtained within the bolts of the swing-doors, thus alternatively blocking said bolts, not allowing the opening of the last opened swing-door but after the opening and the closure of the other one, and further wherein said valuables container is comprised of a bag providing above a metallic plate, rotatable about a central axis, means being provided to allow the rotation of the plate in a direction only, the lower part of the bag container being realised by flexible material, a network of conductive material, or an optical fibre network, or a photosensitive material curtain, or an interspace within which it is possible realise a pressure condition by a fluid (gaseous or liquid) being provided on the bag container and on the closure metallic plate, on the closure metallic plate two different and separated locks being provided.
  • Preferably, according to the invention, the inner swing-door of the safe is divided into two separated doors, a first door for the standard motion of the valuables container and the second door for the introduction from inside of envelopes containing valuables, through an introduction device.
  • Furthermore, according to the invention, from said second door it is possible to access to a little safe, to temporarily save the valuables to be used in the following periods.
  • Always according to the invention, said two lateral sliding bars are provided with an electromagnetic or mechanical movement.
  • Still according to the invention, said sliding bar provided in the lower portion of the safe if provided with an electromagnetic or mechanical movement, actuated by a contact with a transmitter provided on the end of a bolt with one of the transceivers laterally provided with respect to the safe, eliminating the voltage to the lateral sliding bar of the swing-door closed to transfer the same to the one that will be then opened.
  • Furthermore, according to the invention, said metallic plate of the bag container provides keyhole cover for the locks, in such a way to make it difficult to take the cast of the same.
  • Always according to the invention, said means to allow the rotation of the metallic plate in one direction only are preferably made up of a first re-entrant space both on the lower edge and on the upper edge of the frame of the container, of a re-entrant space on the upper edge of the frame of the container, and of a single direction rotation mechanism.
  • Still according to the invention, said bag provides a transmitter or transponder, which can even be of the passive kind, interfaced with one or more sensors revealing the integrity condition of the bag, sensors being connected with said conductive material network or with said optical fibre network, or with said photosensitive material curtain, or within said interspace containing fluid, in such way that, in case sensors reveal that the container is not integral, said transmitter or transponder does not exchange information with, or does not give the consent to, the second couple of transceivers placed on the safe, controlling the movement of the lateral sliding bars (see reference number of figure 5).
  • Furthermore, the bag, according to the sophistication level, will be also provided with said or an optical fibre network, or a photosensitive material curtain, or an interspace within which it is possible realise a pressure condition by a fluid, connected with a autofed memory, provided with a long life battery, placed within the bag in a place not reachable from outside but tampering the integrity of the same, suitable to be interrogated by suitable means, and having as object that of individuating the time of the tampering.
  • In this way, in case of tampering, it is possible to precisely lay on the responsibilities to the person or organisation delegated to keep the bag, (it can be thought to the various working shifts existing in the count and safe room of surveillance company).
  • The present invention will be now described, for illustrative but not limitative purposes, according to its preferred embodiments, with particular reference to the figures of the enclosed drawings, wherein:
  • figure 1 is a vertical section view of a safe according to the invention;
  • figure 2 is a view from inside of the office of a safe according to figure 1;
  • figure 3 is a top view of a bag to be used with the safe according to the invention;
  • figure 4 is a vertical section view of the base of the safe of figure 1 at the height of the block;
  • figure 5 is a horizontal section view of the base of the safe of figure 1 at the height of the blocks for the swing-doors;
  • figure 6 is a plan view of the opening of the bag; and
  • figure 7 is a perspective, section view of the opening of the bag of figure 6.
  • Observing now the figures of the enclosed drawings, and particularly first figure 1, it is shown a safe 1 according to the invention, providing two opposed wing- doors 2, 3, one of which can be opened from inside and the second one from outside. Said doors 2, 3 operates according to a sequential electronic block mode, so that once opened and closed the outer door 3, the same will not open until the inner one 2 has not been opened and closed, and vice versa.
  • Doors 2, 3 has their own safety closure, key and combination, so that it is possible the collection and the introduction of the valuables bag.
  • Furthermore, as already said, the inner door 2 can be divided in two parts, the upper one 4 of which, provided with its own lock, protects a particular deposit device and a little safe (which will be better described in the following).
  • The inner deposit device, generally indicated by the reference number 5, is fixed under the upper part of the safe and is useful to introduce bags containing valuables within the bag, so that the offices, once reached a determined amount of money, can introduce the same within the safe 1, without any possibility of taking it again. In this way damages deriving from rapine are limited, said rapine being furthermore discouraged since the amount of money available within the offices would be limited and thus not attracting.
  • When the inner swing-door 2 is opened, in case it is wished to use the deposit device 5, the bag 6 is introduced in the suitable slide guides fixed under the deposit device 5, with the closure metallic plate 7 opened at 90° and in such a way that it remains in a perpendicular position with respect to the bag 6. The same bag 6 is thrust up to the stop position.
  • Once closed again the inner swing-door 2, the same will be not openable until the outer one 3 is opened and closed, the key of the outer door 3 being in the possession of the companies in charge of the collection and transport of valuables.
  • Now, it is possible to introduce the envelopes containing the valuables which, by a "falling" device 8 goes within the bag 6.
  • During the bag 6 withdrawal step from the outer part of the safe 1, the closure metallic plate 7 by a controlled device is made sliding into the closure position.
  • In case it is not wished to use the deposit device 5, the bag 6 will be introduced already containing the valuables and with the closure plate 7 manually closed.
  • Two opposed electronic - digital transceivers are fixed to the slide guides receiving the bag 6, said transceivers recognising the bag 6 and verifying its integrity.
  • Close to the introduction device 5 a little safe 9 is provided, said little safe being provided with its own combination lock with an electronic retarding opening device programmable for the opening after 1 or more minutes, suitable to keep eventual money extracted from the valuables bag at the moment of the opening of the safe but exceeding the need of the early opening hours.
  • Valuables will be kept and collected therefrom according to the needing of the office, limiting at the minimum the cash desk capitals in such a way to discourage possible robbers.
  • Safe 1 according to the invention further provides two lateral sliding bars 15, with an electromagnetic or mechanical movement, each of them moving toward the respective swing- door 2 or 3, and that in case the bag 6 has been withdrawn or tampered, occupy the space destined to the housing of one or more bolts of the swing- door 2 or 3 opened, thus preventing the housing within the respective hole and inhibiting the closure of the lock.
  • Aside the safe 1, opposed each other, a couple of electronic digital transceivers is provided, to exchange information with the relevant transmitters provided at the ends of one of the two bolts of each one of the doors 2, 3, and controlling the sliding bar 10 placed on the bottom of the safe 1 and that will described in greater detail in the following.
  • Said sliding bar 10 provided on the bottom of the safe 1 is provided with an electromagnetic or mechanical motion and is actuated by the contact of a transmitter placed on the end of a bolt, said receiver being placed on a side of the safe 1. Aid contact induces the motion of the sliding bar 10 in such a way to block a suitably holed bolt of the door 2 or 3 just closed, releasing the holed bolt of the opposed door to make the latter openable.
  • By the contact of another transmitter placed on a bolt of the opposite door, the receiver of the safe 1 being placed on the opposite portion with respect to the first one, the sliding bar 10 makes the opposite run, blocking the swing- door 2 or 3 just closed and releasing the opposed swing- door 3 or 2.
  • Such an operation further allows that the voltage is eliminated from the "lateral sliding bar" 15 projecting toward the door 2 or 3 from which the operation has been just terminated, and voltage is transferred to the opposed "lateral sliding bar" 15, in such a way that when the bag 6 is detached from the safe 1, or in case of a tampering attempt of the bag 6 still inserted, the "lateral sliding bar" 15 projects from the door 2 or 3 from which the operation or the tampering is carried out.
  • During the inactivity of the safe 1, transmitter placed in the bolt and the receiver are always in contact so that the status of the sliding bar does not change, as well as does not change its status when said transmitter and receiver are detached. Sliding bar 10 will change its direction only when, after the detachment between transmitter and receiver there will be a new contact (for example activator-de-activator of the alarm system).
  • As already said, the bag-shaped container 6 (see also figure 3) provides a closure metallic plate 7 rotating according to a single direction about a central pin 11, thanks to two anti-return bearings.
  • Plate 7 is provided with a first and a second lock, the first one of which is provided in the upper part of the same plate 7, and the second one in the lower part. The two locks actuate by different keys the relevant bolt.
  • Frame 12 of the bag 6 allowing the closure of the metallic plate 7 is provided on one side with a groove 13 re-entrant both in the upper edge and in the lower edge and on the other side with a groove 14 only re-entrant in the upper edge.
  • In this way, it is not possible that the plate 7 carries out a rotation bigger than 180°, since once opened, for example from the peripheral seat by the use of the first lock and then closed again, making it rotating of 180°, the bolt relevant to the second lock, which remained outside, bucks the lower edge of the frame 12 of the bag 6, thus blocking the plate 7. The first lock is placed toward the inner part of the bag 6 and thus it cannot be manoeuvred or viewed, while the second lock still is viewable on the upper part of the plate 7.
  • Two locks are further provided with a keyhole cover (not shown) preventing the view of the lock from the opposite side.
  • For example, when the bag 6 arrives to the central cash desk, it can be opened only employing the key and the second lock, and closed again making the plate 7 rotating of further 180°.
  • In this way, the bag 6 will go back to the receiver branch with the first lock directed upward and thus operable by the sole owner of the relevant key, thus making it very difficult possible bag 6 opening unauthorised attempts, since it would be necessary to have the copy of the first key and of the second key to put the bag 6 again with the plate 7 in the position preceding the unauthorised opening.
  • Furthermore, the insertion of the key will be prevented by the provision of the standard safety seals of the locks.
  • The bottom portion of the bag 6, suitable to contain the valuables, is comprised of flexible material, resisting to the shocks and to the tear, and having inside a thick network of suitable conductive material developing along a plurality of wires running along the bag 6 cloth or a network of optical fibres, or a curtain of photosensitive material, or an interspace within which it is possible to realise a determined pressure condition obtained by a fluid (gaseous or liquid), as well as in the upper part, including the closure metallic plate 7, said wires or other elements being all connected with a digital electronic transmitter placed within the rigid upper frame 12 of the bag 6.
  • Safe 1 and the bag 6 according to the invention allow to carry out the valuables collection and delivery services also during the closure of the offices.
  • In case the bag has been completely and correctly introduced, both from inside and from outside, within the guides realised in the upper portion of the safe 1, so that a swing- door 2 or 3 is opened and the other one 3 or 2 is closed, the digital electronic transmitter or transponder of the bag 6 by a contact exchanges information with the first receiver of the safe 1, which, once carried out a recognition test of the bag and an integrity test of the wires placed within the bag, or of the optical fibres or of the photosensitive material, or of the constancy of the pre-established value of the pressure within the interspace and in the metallic plate 7 and frame, by interface with one of the two transceivers of the safe adjusts the return system of the lateral sliding bar, which before exited when extracting the bag 6, said sliding bar obstructing the hole of one of the bolts of the opened swing- door 2 or 3, thus allowing the closure since the bolts of the lock are able to enter within the relevant holes.
  • In case someone wishes to withdraw the bag 6 again or to tamper the same after its insertion (for example cutting, holing, etc. to collect its contents), the receiver, in case of detachment or after the tampering, would induce again the exit of the lateral sliding bar 15 so as not to allow the closure of the swing- door 2 or 3 opened, thus making it easy individuate the responsible of the tampering.
  • If the above operation is carried out from the opposite side, the same transmitter of the bag 6, when touching the second transceiver of the safe 1 would actuate the return of the lateral sliding bar within the opposite side.
  • In fact, the transmitter of the bag 6 when touches the transceiver actuates the return of the lateral sliding bar, so that in case of detachment or tampering (thus modifying the equilibrium of the system in case of possible tampering) the lateral sliding bar exits.
  • Once the operation of introducing the bag 6 within the safe is terminated, the swing- door 2 or 3 is closed, thus making the closure bolts exiting.
  • The electrical continuity will be ensured by suitable batteries and suitable feeder.
  • In the safe 1 suggested according to the present invention, differently with respect to the known safes, and in absence of tampering, the opening of one of the two swing- doors 2 or 3 is subordinated to the fact that the other one is closed and thus the safe 1 compulsorily houses the integral bag 6.
  • Furthermore, the bag 6 could be provided of its own memory fed by long life batteries useful to individuate the time and date of possible tampering of the same.
  • Furthermore, said closure plate 7 (as it can be seen from figures 6 and 7) will be provided all along one of its sides with a relief offset with respect to a second relief provided on the opposite side. In the bag housing guides a single notch will be obtained, in such a way that the bag can enter according to the sole allowed direction from outside, and with the opposite direction, and thus with the plate upturned, from inside.
  • By the safe 1 according to the present invention, remarkable advantages are obtained, among which the following can be individuated:
    • all the operations can be carried out without requiring the presence of the personnel, thus being available much more time than now and thus being it possible to carry out the service at unusual, and less repetitive times, also with less traffic, so as to discourage possible criminal attacks;
    • it is possible to combine the collection and delivery of valuables along the same path (now, collection is usually carried out late in the afternoon and delivery very early in the morning), with remarkable savings of personnel and of time and of armoured vans in order to reduce the cost of the service;
    • in case a valuables bag is tampered, it would not be possible to complete the step of delivering and/or collecting, since the safe 1 swing-door would remain opened thus precisely indicating the responsibility of the subjects involved which are the sole owners of the key and those knowing the opening combination, condition that would discourage from the beginning possible attempts;
    • the risk of robbery during opening hours of banks and post offices is highly reduced since sums necessary for the payments could be kept within the little safe provided with a delayed opening and collected time by time according to the real needing, while money kept by the cashier can be immediately placed within the safe by the "deposit inner device", so as to reduce cash desk capitals at the minimum also in offices having a harder work;
    • every subject involved in the operations is more guaranteed since he is the sole owner of the bag opening key.
  • The present invention has been described for illustrative but not limitative purposes, according to its preferred embodiments, but it is to be understood that modifications and/or changes can be introduced by those skilled in the art without departing from the relevant scope as defined in the enclosed claims.
