Titre : Dispositif de combustion à hydrogène
Domaine technique
[0001] La présente divulgation se rapporte au domaine de la combustion tel qu’en particulier de l’hydrogène pour une turbine, notamment pour une turbomachine, telle que par exemple une turbine à gaz, un turboréacteur ou un turbopropulseur d’aéronef. Plus précisément, la présente divulgation concerne un dispositif de combustion à hydrogène.
Technique antérieure
[0002] Une turbomachine d'aéronef comprend classiquement une chambre de combustion alimentée par du kérosène. Toutefois, afin de réduire l'impact environnemental et les émissions polluantes et de contribuer à la décarbonation du transport aérien, il a été envisagé de remplacer le kérosène par un combustible à base d’hydrogène.
[0003] Afin de permettre une combustion stable à partir de l’hydrogène, il est connu de générer des flammes de diffusion dans la chambre de combustion, c’est-à-dire des flammes qui sont obtenues à partir de réactifs très peu mélangés à l’air, voire non mélangés, avant d'arriver dans la chambre de combustion.
[0004] Cependant, ces flammes de diffusion issues d’une combustion de l’hydrogène atteignent des températures plus élevées que les flammes issues d’une combustion de kérosène dans des conditions thermodynamiques et de richesse équivalentes. On entend par « richesse » la proportion d’hydrogène par rapport à l’air pour la combustion. Le mélange est dit « riche » lorsque l’hydrogène est en excès par rapport à l’air, et inversement, le mélange est dit « pauvre » lorsque l’air est en excès par rapport à l’hydrogène. La chambre de combustion doit alors pouvoir résister à ces températures élevées.
[0005] Par ailleurs, les vitesses de flammes issues d’une combustion d’hydrogène sont plus importantes que celles issues d’une combustion de kérosène. Ces vitesses de flammes importantes peuvent générer des retours de flammes, couramment désignés « flashbacks » en langue anglaise, dans les systèmes d’injection de combustible dans la chambre de combustion. Ces retours de flammes peuvent en conséquence endommager les systèmes d’injection.
[0006] De plus, les températures produites par la combustion de l’hydrogène sont fortement émettrices en oxydes d’azote (NOx).
[0007] Par conséquent, il existe un besoin de développer des dispositifs de combustion à hydrogène qui permettent une combustion stable et faiblement émettrice en oxydes d’azote, en limitant la charge thermique subie par les dispositifs de combustion et les risques de retour de flammes.
[0008] Le présent document vise à apporter une solution simple, fiable et économique à ce besoin.
Résumé
[0009] Il est proposé un dispositif de combustion à hydrogène comprenant :
- une chambre de combustion et au moins une chambre de prémélange ayant un premier axe et une sortie qui débouche dans la chambre de combustion,
- au moins un premier système d’injection d’un mélange d’hydrogène et d’air dans la chambre de combustion selon le premier axe, le premier système d’injection comprenant la chambre de prémélange, des moyens primaires d’amenée d’air débouchant dans la chambre de prémélange et au moins un premier orifice d’arrivée d’hydrogène débouchant dans la chambre de prémélange à l’aval des moyens primaires d’amenée d’air suivant le sens d’écoulement des gaz dans le dispositif de combustion,
- optionnellement, au moins un deuxième système d’injection d’hydrogène dans la chambre de combustion selon un deuxième axe, le deuxième système d’injection comprenant au moins un deuxième orifice d’arrivée d’hydrogène débouchant dans la chambre de combustion.
[0010] Dans une réalisation particulière, ledit au moins un premier orifice d’arrivé d’hydrogène débouche dans la chambre de prémélange selon une direction formant avec le premier axe un angle compris entre 30° et 150°. Cette orientation du flux d’hydrogène provenant des moyens primaires d’amenée d’air dans la chambre de prémélange permet d’améliorer l’homogénéité et la rapidité du mélange d’hydrogène et d’air. Dans une réalisation particulière, l’angle peut être de 90°.
[0011] D’une part, ledit au moins premier système d’injection permet avantageusement d’assurer un mélange rapide et suffisamment homogène de l’air et de l’hydrogène dans la chambre de prémélange avant d’alimenter la chambre de combustion avec ce mélange. D’autre part, ledit optionnel deuxième système d’injection permet avantageusement de stabiliser le processus de combustion dans la chambre de combustion, en particulier à bas régime. Un tel dispositif de combustion permet ainsi le développement d’une combustion à la fois aérodynamiquement stable et faiblement émettrice en oxydes d’azote dans la chambre de combustion. En outre, le dispositif de combustion selon la présente divulgation conserve l’avantage de pouvoir être facilement optimisé, conçu et fabriqué.
[0012] Les caractéristiques exposées dans les paragraphes suivants peuvent, optionnellement, être mises en oeuvre, indépendamment les unes des autres ou en combinaison les unes avec les autres.
[0013] Ledit au moins un premier orifice correspond notamment à un orifice de prémélange débouchant directement dans la chambre de prémélange. De plus, ledit optionnel un deuxième orifice correspond notamment à un orifice d’injection directe, débouchant directement dans la chambre de combustion.
[0014] Ledit au moins un premier orifice peut comprendre au moins une rangée annulaire de premiers orifices, par exemple une rangée annulaire de premiers orifices ou alternativement une pluralité de rangées annulaires de premiers orifices espacées longitudinalement. La rangée annulaire de premiers orifices permet avantageusement de distribuer annulairement l’alimentation
en hydrogène de la chambre de prémélange, et ainsi d’améliorer l’homogénéité du mélange d’hydrogène et d’air dans la chambre de prémélange.
[0015] Chaque rangée annulaire de premiers orifices peut comprendre deux premiers orifices, par exemple aménagés de manière diamétralement opposés par rapport à la chambre de prémélange.
[0016] Lesdits premiers orifices de la rangée annulaire peuvent être alignés circonférentiellement de manière à ce qu’au moins certains des premiers orifices, de préférence tous les premiers orifices, sont interceptés par un même plan perpendiculaire au premier axe.
[0017] Ledit au moins premier système d’injection peut avantageusement comprendre une rampe annulaire d’alimentation en hydrogène entourant la chambre de prémélange dudit premier système d’injection. Ladite rampe annulaire peut notamment comprendre au moins une rangée annulaire de premiers orifices, de préférence une rangée annulaire de premiers orifices. Description des modes de réalisation
[0044] Il est maintenant fait référence aux figures 1 et 2 représentant schématiquement respectivement des vues en coupe partielles d’exemples de dispositif de combustion 100 à hydrogène selon le présent document. Le dispositif de combustion 100 peut être mise en oeuvre dans une turbine à gaz, ou une turbomachine, par exemple un turbopropulseur, ou un turboréacteur d’aéronef.
[0045] La chambre de combustion 10 peut être sensiblement annulaire autour d’un axe longitudinal X. De plus, la chambre de combustion 10 peut comporter une paroi annulaire radialement interne 12 et une paroi annulaire radialement externe 13 coaxiales d’axe correspondant à l’axe longitudinal X de la chambre de combustion 10. Les parois annulaires radialement interne 12 et externe 13 sont reliées à leur extrémité amont par une paroi annulaire de fond de chambre 11 , qui est notamment radiale, d’axe se confondant avec l’axe longitudinal X.

Le flux d’hydrogène arrive donc sensiblement perpendiculairement au flux d’air provenant des moyens primaires d’amenée d’air dans la chambre de prémélange, ce qui permet d’améliorer l’homogénéité et la rapidité du mélange d’hydrogène et d’air.

D’autre part, ledit un deuxième système d’injection 30 permet avantageusement de stabiliser le processus de combustion dans la chambre de combustion, en particulier à bas régime. Un tel dispositif de combustion 100 permet ainsi le développement d’une combustion à la fois aérodynamiquement stable et faiblement émettrice en oxydes d’azote dans la chambre de combustion. En outre, le
dispositif de combustion selon la présente divulgation présente l’avantage de pouvoir être facilement optimisé, conçu et fabriqué.
[0054] Ledit au moins un premier système d’injection 20 peut déboucher dans la chambre de combustion 10 à une même position longitudinale que ledit au moins un deuxième système d’injection 30 selon l’axe longitudinal X.

Cette configuration permet de faciliter la mise en oeuvre de la rangée annuaire de premiers orifices.

[Revendication 1] Dispositif de combustion (100) à hydrogène comprenant :
- une chambre annulaire de combustion (10) d’axe longitudinal (X) et au moins une chambre de prémélange (24) ayant un premier axe (Y1 ) et une sortie (25) qui débouche dans la chambre de combustion (10),
- au moins un premier système d’injection (20) d’un mélange d’hydrogène et d’air dans la chambre de combustion (10) selon le premier axe (Y1 ), le premier système d’injection (20) comprenant la chambre de prémélange (24), des moyens primaires (21 ) d’amenée d’air débouchant dans la chambre de prémélange (24) et au moins un premier orifice (22) d’arrivée d’hydrogène débouchant dans la chambre de prémélange (24) à l’aval des moyens primaires (21 ) d’amenée d’air suivant le sens d’écoulement des gaz dans le dispositif de combustion (100), le premier système d’injection (20) comprenant des moyens secondaires (23) d’amenée d’air débouchant dans la chambre de prémélange (24) en aval dudit au moins un premier orifice (22).
[Revendication 2] Dispositif selon la revendication 1 , comprenant au moins un deuxième système d’injection (30) d’hydrogène dans la chambre de combustion (10) selon un deuxième axe (Y2), le deuxième système d’injection (30) comprenant au moins un deuxième orifice (31 ) d’arrivée d’hydrogène débouchant dans la chambre de combustion (10).
[Revendication 3] Dispositif de combustion (100) selon la revendication 1 ou 2, dans lequel ledit au moins un premier orifice (22) comprend une rangée annulaire de premiers orifices (22).
[Revendication 4] Dispositif de combustion (100) selon la revendication 3, dans lequel lesdits premiers orifices (22) de la rangée annulaire sont alignés circonférentiellement de manière à ce qu’au moins certains des premiers orifices (22), de préférence tous les premiers orifices (22), sont interceptés par un même plan perpendiculaire au premier axe (Y1 ).
[Revendication 5] Dispositif de combustion (100) selon l’une des revendications 1 à 4, dans lequel ledit au moins premier système d’injection (20) comprend une rampe annulaire d’alimentation en hydrogène entourant la chambre de prémélange (24) dudit premier système d’injection (20).
[Revendication 6] Dispositif de combustion (100) selon l’une des revendications 1 à 5 et la revendication 2, dans lequel le deuxième axe (Y2) est incliné radialement vers l’intérieur par rapport au premier axe (Y1 ).
[Revendication 7] Dispositif de combustion (100) selon l’une des revendications précédentes, dans lequel les moyens secondaires (23) d’amenée d’air comprennent au moins un troisième orifice (231 ) formé à une extrémité aval de la chambre de prémélange (24).
[Revendication s] Dispositif de combustion (100) selon la revendication 7, dans lequel ledit au moins un troisième orifice (231 ) est orienté radialement vers l’intérieur et vers l’aval selon le premier axe (Y1 ).
[Revendication 9] Dispositif de combustion (100) selon l’une des revendications 1 à 8, dans lequel la chambre de prémélange (24) est délimitée extérieurement par une paroi cylindrique (241) dans laquelle est formé ledit au moins un premier orifice (22).
[Revendication 10] Dispositif de combustion (100) selon l’une des revendications 1 à 9, dans lequel la sortie (25) de la chambre de prémélange (24) débouche en entrée de la chambre annulaire de combustion (10) et au travers d’une paroi annulaire de fond chambre (11) de la chambre annulaire de combustion (10).
[Revendication 11] Dispositif de combustion (100) selon l’une des revendications précédentes, comprenant une pluralité de premiers systèmes d’injection (20) répartis annulairement autour de l’axe longitudinal (X).
[Revendication 12] Dispositif de combustion selon l’une des revendications 1 à 11 , dans lequel ledit au moins un premier orifice d’arrivé d’hydrogène débouche dans la chambre de prémélange selon une direction formant un angle avec le premier axe compris entre 30° et 150°.
[Revendication 13] Turbomachine comprenant le dispositif de combustion (100) selon l’une des revendications 1 à 12.
