Definitions

  • Child seat system for placing a child being an infant or a toddler
  • the disclosure relates to a child seat system for placing a child being an infant or a toddler.
  • chairs For placing a child safely in certain environment, e.g., on a floor, on a table, on a chair, etc., especially in context of taking a meal, seats, respectively chairs, for children are known.
  • Such chairs can e.g. be configured as high chairs, booster chairs or infant-safe booster chairs or may have other configurations.
  • each chair is adapted for a child of a certain age range, e.g. for infants or for toddlers.
  • an infant shall be considered a child having an age of one year or less, whereas a toddler is a child having an age between one and five years. Due to the different needs of infants and toddlers there are different chair configurations for children in infant stage and for toddlers.
  • infants have different developmental needs from older toddlers. E.g. infants between four to five months are supported sitters who can sit up only with help; around six to seven months, infants start to gain the ability to sit independently by themselves. Around eight to eleven months, infants gain the ability to stand and feed themselves. By the time they are two-years old, children develop the ability to sit in boosters and child seats on their own.
  • CN202027224-U discloses an exemplary child dining highchair, which comprises a vehicle frame, a chair seat and a dining plate, wherein the dining plate is used for containing food or other objects.
  • the chair seat is arranged on the vehicle frame
  • the dining plate is detachably arranged on the chair seat
  • the back side of the dining plate is provided with a clamping structure
  • the clamping structure is clamped with the vehicle frame.
  • the presented chair is however still comparably complex in its construction, it is hard to dissemble, and has obviously disadvantages in terms portability and mobility due to its size. Further the chair is not flexible regarding the usage for older children that left the infant stage and require less safety features.
  • a booster seat including a storage compartment for a tray and/or a storage compartment for securing straps.
  • the strap-storage compartment can be formed in the base and include an access opening with a closure for retaining the straps in the compartment.
  • a base panel can be provided for stability and support.
  • Such chair as presented in US 20170119172 discloses a more compact configuration improving portability of the chair.
  • this chair provides a low level of flexibility, as the chair is only usable as booster chair for children of specific age range.
  • the child seat can include features such as a removable seat pan that has upwardly curved edges to keep debris inside the seat pan and which allows for easy clean up.
  • the seat pan can be removed to enlarge the chair for a growing child to fit inside the child seat.
  • the child seat can incorporate a height adjustment mechanism to support the seat and match the stature of the child. This height adjustment mechanism can also be used to clamp the child seat to a tabletop.
  • This chair is a high flexibility in terms of usage for children of various size and ages, however has the disadvantage of being configured of a high number of parts which causes problems in terms of portability, transportation and storing of these parts in case, some of them are not needed.
  • child seat system especially a dining child seat system, for placing a child being an infant or a toddler, comprising a seat base comprising a seat base surface on which a child can be placed, especially in a front side direction, and a, especially ring-like, seat base frame supporting the seat base surface, whereas the seat base frame is configured such that it provides an accessible storing volume limited by boundary areas of the seat base frame.
  • the child seat system comprises a ring-like seat support, which is removably mountable at the seat base, whereas the ring-like seat support is configured such that in the mounted state the child placed on the seat base surface is enclosed circumferentially by the ring-like seat support around a normal center axis of the seat base surface, especially in a plane perpendicular to a the normal center axis of the seat base surface, whereas the ring-like seat support is further configured such that it is entirely insertable in the provided storing volume, a tray, which is removably mountable to the ring-like seat support to be operated in a working position and which is removably mountable to the seat base to be operated in a parking position, whereas in the parking position the tray limits the storing volume as additional boundary area.
  • the presented child seat system is of modular configuration, as the seat base, the seat base in combination with the ring-like seat support and the seat base in combination with the ring-like seat support and the tray can be used independently. This has the effect that the chair can be adapted to requirements of children of different sizes and ages, especially of infants and toddlers.
  • this child seat system provides a high level of flexibility to adapt the seat to the needs of the specific age and/or size of the child. In consequence costs for different chairs due the development of children can be reduced as the presented child seat system can be used over a comparably long age range of the children, especially e.g. from an age of few months to several years.
  • the child seat system is highly compact, as the ring-like seat support can be stored in the storing volume provided by the seat base. This is of advantage, if the child gets older and the ring-like seat support and tray is not used anymore due to the development of the child. No additional space is required, as the ring-like seat support fits entirely in the volume provided by the seat base.
  • the ring-like seat support encloses in the mounted state the child positioned on the seat base surface circumferentially around the longitudinal axis of the child.
  • the ring-like seat support is configured to enclose the positioned child on the seat base surface around its normal center axis.
  • the normal center axis of the seat base surface typically is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the child positioned on the seat base surface.
  • the center axis is arranged normally, i.e. in normal direction to the seat base surface, which is perpendicular to the seat base surface.
  • Such compact configuration is also of advantage in context of the portability or mobility.
  • the child seat system needs to be transported the child seat system provides its own compact transportation container.
  • the child seat system provides a storage volume for the main, especially all, components of the flexible and modular child seat system by itself. This reduces the probability of loss or damage of components, which are not in use. It further provides the possibility to store other components of the child seat system or other equipment that is typically used in context with the child seat system, like e.g. cushions for the child seat system, drinking bottles, tissues, plates, cups, etc.
  • the tray has not only a function in its working position, which is the function of supporting dishes, food, toys or the like.
  • the tray has also a function when it is arranged in the parking position.
  • the tray serves as lid, respectively cover, for limiting the storing volume provided by the seat base frame.
  • the tray protects the components arranged in the volume and prevents them from falling out.
  • the tray is stored by itself efficiently in the parking position. This provides a compact and efficient configuration, which enables especially also an easy portable and mobile child seat system.
  • the child seat system comprises a seat base.
  • the isolated seat base can be considered as booster seat.
  • the seat base comprises an area where the child shall be placed, especially positioned by sitting, if the seat is in use. This area, on which the child is supposed to be positioned, is considered as seat base surface.
  • the seat base surface is arranged such that a child sitting on the seat base surface normally sits in a vertical position, i.e. the seat base surface is during use typically horizontally orientated. In consequence the normal direction to the seat base surface is typically a vertical direction when the seat base is in operation and is therefore typically parallel to the longitudinal axis of the child, when positioned on the seat base surface.
  • the child can be positioned on the seat in a certain direction, e.g. the direction from which food is served. This side can be considered as front side.
  • the seat base can be configured to support a certain position of the child on the seat, e.g. for the legs of the child or by elevation of edge parts comprised by the seat base. Such orientation of the child relative to the seat base is especially of relevance, if the seat base is used in combination with the ring-like seat support and the tray.
  • the tray is arranged on the front side of the child seat system and the ring-like seat support is configured to provide space for the legs of the positioned child at the front side direction.
  • the seat base frame supports the seat base surface. This means the seat base frame receives to weight of the child placed on the seat base surface.
  • the seat base frame can be placed on a chair, on the table, on the floor or elsewhere.
  • the seat base surface can be elevated versus the supporting structure on which the seat base frame is positioned. This allows the use of the seat base on its own as booster seat.
  • the seat base frame can be of a ring-like shape increasing the mechanical stability of the seat base frame for receiving the weight of the child.
  • the seat base surface can be separately attached to the seat base frame or can also be configured to be a part of the seat base frame.
  • the seat base has a configuration, which allows to provide and to limit the provided storing volume.
  • Such limitation of the storing volume is provided by boundary areas of the seat base frame.
  • the seat base surface can provide a boundary area for limiting the storing volume.
  • Such seat base frame can comprise closed surfaces like massive walls; but also grid-like structures or other configurations are possible, which allow to define an accessible and usable storing volume in which the ring-like seat support can be stored.
  • the boundary area does not necessarily be a continuous surface but should be configured to prevent the ring-like seat support and potential further items stored in the storing volume from falling out during use or transport of the child seat system.
  • the child seat system further comprises a ring-like seat support, which is removably mountable on the seat base.
  • the ring-like seat support is configured such that in the mounted state the child placed on the seat base surface is enclosed by the ring-like seat support, especially in a plane perpendicular to a normal direction of the seat base surface. This means that the child is circumferentially enclosed by the ring-like seat support. This provides a safe arrangement for child, further the ring-like seat support can be used by the child for stabilizing or balancing purposes.
  • the ring-like seat support can be especially used for infants before they can sit stable by themselves.
  • the use of the ring-like seat support is therefore especially of advantage if the child is still in an infant-stage, however, it may also be used in a later age stage.
  • the seat base and the ring-like seat support are aligned in their configuration such that the ring-like seat support can be inserted entirely in the storing volume provided by the seat base frame.
  • the ring-like seat support can be considered to be in a parking position when stored in the storing volume of the seat base.
  • the ring-like seat support can be considered to be in working position when mounted at the seat base.
  • the child system further comprises a tray, which is removably mountable to the ringlike seat support.
  • the tray When the tray is mounted to the ring-like seat support, the tray is arranged in a working position allowing its use by the child or the caregiver.
  • the tray can be used e.g. for playing with toys, eating, serving food etc.
  • the working position of the tray is typically arranged in a horizontal position, i.e. in a plane that is perpendicular to the normal direction of the seat base, respectively perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the child.
  • the tray is also removably mountable to the seat base. If mounted to the seat base, especially to the seat base frame, the tray can be arranged in a parking position. If arranged in that parking position, the tray limits the storing volume by a respective boundary area, typically its working surface or the surface opposite to the working surface of the tray.
  • the seat base frame and the tray are configured such that the ring-like seat support is entirely insertable in the storing volume and the tray can work as lid or cover for the storing volume in case the ring-like seat support is positioned entirely in the storing volume.
  • the tray is configured such that the working side of the tray, i.e. the side of the tray which is in use in the working position by putting e.g. toys, food on it, is facing in the parking position towards the volume.
  • the tray is mountable at an end of the seat base, especially at the end the seat base frame, which is arranged opposite to the seat base surface. In operation of the seat base, such end would correspond to the bottom side of the seat base.
  • Such arrangement of the tray at the seat base frame allows to maximize the available volume limited by the seat base and the tray.
  • the seat base is configured to be in one piece and the storing volume is limited by the boundary areas of the seat base surface and the seat base frame.
  • the seat base is configured in one piece, no maintenance of the seat base is required, e.g. like checking screws or other fixing elements.
  • the ring-like seat support is configured to be in one piece.
  • the seat base and the ring-like seat support are each configured as one piece.
  • the ring-like seat support is configured to have a hollow truncated cone-like shape comprising a lateral support wall
  • the hollow truncated cone-like shaped ring-like seat support comprises in the mounted state and in the normal direction of the seat base surface a seat support top edge and a seat support bottom edge, whereas a seat support volume is defined by the space arranged between the seat support top edge and the seat support bottom edge
  • the seat base frame is configured to have a hollow truncated cone-like shape comprising a lateral frame wall
  • the hollow truncated conelike shaped seat base frame comprises a frame top edge and a frame bottom edge in normal direction
  • a frame volume is defined by the space arranged between the frame top edge and the frame bottom edge, whereas the frame volume is larger than the seat support volume.
  • the frame volume is larger than the seat support volume it is possible to place to the seat support entirely in the storing volume provided by the seat base frame. It is especially of advantage, if a maximum distance of the frame top edge from the frame bottom edge in normal direction is equal or larger than the maximum distance of the seat support top edge from the seat support bottom edge.
  • the hollow truncated cone-like shape of the ring-like seat support and the hollow truncated cone-like shape of the seat base frame can each preferably be configured to have a symmetrical cross section in a plane perpendicular to the normal direction of the seat base surface.
  • the shape of the cross section can e.g. be circular, elliptic rectangular, triangle-like or have another shape, especially comprising rounded corners and/or curved sections.
  • the hollow truncated cone-like shaped ring-like seat support may have a four-leaf clover-like shaped cross-section.
  • the maximum extension of the ring-like seat support in normal direction N is smaller than the maximum extension of the seat base frame in normal direction N.
  • the diameter of the cross-section typically changes in normal direction.
  • the respective cross-section of the ring-like seat support or the seat base frame can increase, especially in a linear way or in a stepwise way, or decrease, especially in a linear way or in a stepwise way, in a direction away from the seat base surface.
  • the diameter of the cross-section may be constant in normal direction.
  • An increase of the diameter of the cross-section of the hollow truncated cone-like shaped ring-like seat support in normal direction away from the seat base surface is of advantage as it collects objects, which e.g. fall down or are handled by the child in uncoordinated way. This can be e.g. toys, food, dishes, cutlery, like a spoon, etc.
  • Such shape of the seat support therefore acts as funnel.
  • such shape allows an easy positioning of the child on the seat base surface while the seat support is mounted on the seat base.
  • the funnel shape allows an easy insertion of the child due to the increased cross-section at the seat support top edge and guides the child into the ring-like seat support towards the seat base surface, on which the child shall be positioned.
  • a decrease of the diameter of the cross-section of the hollow truncated cone-like shaped ring-like seat support in normal direction away from the seat base surface is of advantage as it allows a tighter or closer fit configuration around the child. In other words, the liberty of action for the child is decreased, allowing a more reliable stabilization of the child and increasing the safety aspects of the chair.
  • the shape of the hollow truncated cone-like ring-like seat support and the shape of the hollow truncated cone-like seat base frame correspond to each other.
  • the cross-section of the hollow truncated cone-like ring-like seat support and the shape of the hollow truncated cone-like seat base frame may have the same shape, however may have a different size.
  • the size relation of the cross-sections may be configured such that the hollow truncated cone-like ring-like seat support can be inserted into the frame volume, especially in a guided way, whereas the guidance may be provided by a lateral wall of the ring-like seat support and the seat base frame adapted to each other.
  • the seat base frame and the ring-like seat support can each have the shape of a hollow truncated four sided pyramid, whereas the ring-like seat support defines a seat support volume that is smaller than the frame volume defined by the seat base frame.
  • the side length of the base area of the respective hollow truncated four-sided pyramids can be configured such that the hollow truncated four-sided pyramid shaped ring-like seat support fits into the hollow truncated four-sided pyramid seat base frame.
  • the distance between the walls of these hollow truncated four-sided pyramids when arranged in the parking position may be configured to be less than 1 cm, especially less than 0,5 cm, especially less than 0,1 cm.
  • the hollow truncated cone-like shape may vary circumferentially in its extension, respectively length, in normal direction.
  • a circumferential variation in this context shall mean that a variation of the extension can be provided in circumferential direction around the normal center axis, i.e. an axis in normal direction going through the center of the seat base surface.
  • the hollow truncated cone-like shaped ring-like seat support may have a smaller extension, especially a length of the lateral frame wall, in normal direction at a front portion than at the back portion, especially than a length of the lateral frame wall in normal direction at the back portion.
  • This allows a variable shape of the ring-like seat support and e.g. an opening structure to position the legs of a child.
  • the hollow truncated cone-like shaped seat base frame may have a smaller extension, especially a smaller length of a lateral frame wall, in normal direction at a front portion than at the side portions and/or back portion, especially than the length of the lateral frame wall in normal direction at the side portions and/or back portion.
  • This allows a variable shape of the seat base frame e.g. an elevation of the seat base frame via the seat base surface in normal direction at the side portions and/or the back portion.
  • the lateral support wall is configured to have an inclination angle versus a plane perpendicular to a normal direction of the seat base surface, whereas the lateral frame wall is configured to have an inclination angle versus the same plane, whereas the smallest angle difference from the plane to the lateral support wall deviates at most +/- 20 degrees from the smallest angle difference from the plane to the lateral frame wall.
  • the outer surface of the lateral frame wall can be considered or the inner surface of the lateral frame wall.
  • the outer surface of the lateral frame wall is the surface directed away from the storing volume, whereas the inner surface of the lateral frame wall is the surface directed to the storage volume.
  • the smallest angle different for the ring-like seat support and the seat base frame is essentially, for each, constant in normal direction.
  • a mean value be utilized as smallest angle difference, if the smallest inclination angle varies in normal direction.
  • the smallest inclination angle or the lateral support wall and/or the lateral frame wall is essentially constant in circumferential direction around the normal center axis, i.e. especially all sides of the hollow truncated cone-like shape of the ring-like seat support and/or the seat base frame may have each essentially the same smallest inclination angle via the plane.
  • the outer surface of the lateral support wall or the inner surface of the lateral support wall can be considered.
  • the outer surface of the lateral support wall is the surface adjacent to the inner surface of the lateral frame wall when the ring-like seat support is arranged in parking position.
  • the inner surface of the lateral support wall is the surface opposite to the outer surface of the lateral support wall.
  • the outer surface of the lateral support wall is configured to have an inclination angle versus a plane perpendicular to a normal direction of the seat base surface
  • the inner surface of the lateral frame wall is configured to have an inclination angle versus the same plane
  • the smallest angle difference from the plane to the outer surface of the lateral support wall deviates at most by +/- 20 degrees, especially at most +/- 15, especially at most +/-10, especially at most +/-5 degrees, especially at most +/-1 degree from the smallest angle difference from the plane to the inner surface of the lateral frame wall.
  • the smallest angle difference is not equal to 90 degrees.
  • Such configuration can be described as funnel in funnel arrangement, as outlined exemplarily with the shape of the hollow truncated four-sided pyramid shape of the ring like seat support and the seat base frame. Due to the angle arrangement the hollow truncated cone-like ring-like seat support is configured as a first, especially tighter, funnel, which can be stored due to his angle configuration in a second, especially wider, funnel, given by the hollow-truncated cone-like seat base frame.
  • the smallest angle difference is of relevance and not the absolute angle, as the ring-like seat support might be flipped by 180° to be stored into the storing volume.
  • the frame top edge defines a frame top area
  • the seat support bottom area is smaller than the frame top area
  • the seat support bottom area and the frame top area are configured such that in the stored state the lateral support wall and the lateral frame wall touch each other in a circumferential direction around the normal center axis, especially whereas the lateral support wall and the lateral frame wall are configured to run parallel to each other.
  • This allows a highly compact arrangement, as in the parking position of the ring-like seat support, the ring-like seat support touches the seat base frame.
  • Such configuration provides an effective usage of the storing volume; no or little space in the storing volume is wasted and can be used for other items.
  • the described areas i.e. frame top area, frame bottom area, seat support top area, seat support bottom area, are preferably configured as openings and not as solid surfaces.
  • the shape of the cross-section of the support top area and bottom area are the same as the shape of the cross-section of the frame top area and bottom area. It is advantageous if they only differ in size, e.g. the amount of area in square meters or square centimeters. This enables two four highly compact arrangements.
  • the frame bottom area is smaller than the frame top area. This allows a small footprint of the seat base in terms of required standing area; however, this is of disadvantage in terms of mechanical stability of the seat base.
  • a small footprint of the seat base is also of no importance as chair, table, floor or other object on which the seat base is placed is normally large enough to receive the seat base.
  • the frame bottom area is larger than the frame top area. This allows a stable positioning of the seat base, and the seat base is hard to overturn, when a child is positioned on the seat base surface.
  • the hollow truncated cone-like ring-like seat support can have two support configurations, which may be preferably combined with the second exemplary configuration of the seat base.
  • the cross-section of the hollow truncated cone-like ring-like seat support can increase with increasing distance from the seat base surface in normal direction. This means the seat support top area is larger than the seat support bottom area.
  • the cross-section of the hollow truncated cone-like ring-like seat support can decrease with increasing distance from the seat base surface in normal direction. This means the seat support top area is smaller than the seat support bottom area.
  • Both configurations can be stored highly efficient in the storing volume provided by the seat base frame, especially if the smallest angle difference of the lateral support wall to the plane and the smallest angle difference of the lateral frame wall to the plane is equal. But even if the smallest angle difference is not equal but different as described above, the requirement that in the stored state the lateral support wall and the lateral frame wall touch each other in a circumferential direction leads to a highly compact arrangement providing usable storage room defined by the seat support volume.
  • Both configurations of the ring-like seat support are possible, because the ring-like seat support can be turned by 180 degrees relative to the seat base, after being unmounted, to be inserted entirely into the frame volume. In the second configuration the seat support top area is in parking position adjacent to the frame top area.
  • the seat support bottom area is in the parking position adjacent to the frame top area, i.e. a 180 degree flip of the ring-like seat support is required to insert the ring-like seat support entirely in the storing volume provided by the seat base frame.
  • the seat support bottom area is preferably smaller than the seat support top area.
  • the support bottom area is preferably smaller than the frame top area.
  • the support bottom area and the frame top area can preferably be configured such that in the parking position of the ring-like seat support the lateral frame wall and the lateral support wall touch along the bottom edge of the ring-like seat support.
  • the seat support top area can preferably be smaller than the frame bottom area.
  • the seat support top area and the frame bottom area can preferably be configured such that the lateral frame wall and the lateral support wall touch along the seat support top edge.
  • the smallest angle-difference between the lateral support wall and the lateral frame wall to the plane are preferably equal.
  • the ring-like seat support can be stored into the volume provided by the seat base by flipping the ring-like seat support by 180 degree and inserting it entirely in the storing volume provided by the seat base.
  • the lateral support wall and the lateral frame wall touch each other according to this embodiment circumferentially fully, i.e. in an angle area of 360° around the normal center axis.
  • a touching configuration of the lateral support wall and the lateral frame wall can be selected that only establishes several touching points between the lateral support wall and the lateral frame wall in circumferential direction, still enabling a stable storing position for the ring-like seat support in the frame volume.
  • the touching of the lateral support wall and the lateral frame wall in circumferential direction is preferably arranged entirely in a certain plane perpendicular to the normal center axis, however not necessarily.
  • the shapes of the seat base frame and the ring-like seat support can be varied in wide range still being a hollow truncated cone-like shape.
  • the walls may touch along their whole extension in normal direction.
  • they may be arranged parallel to each other with a distance of less than 1 cm, preferably less than 0,5cm, whereas the lateral frame wall and the lateral support wall do not touch along their whole extension in normal direction.
  • Such configuration maximizes the remaining storage volume for other items when the ring-like seat support is in parking position, like for a cushion, a bottle or the like, when the ring-like seat support is arranged in parking position; on the other hand, the ring-like seat support can be fixed in the parking position along the circumference of the lateral support wall by touching the lateral frame wall.
  • lateral support wall and the lateral frame wall touch each other along the whole length in normal direction, their surface may be configured to be made from a material of sufficient hardness to avoid scratches in the respective walls in the parking position and when inserted and removed from the parking position.
  • the ring-like seat support can be fixed by the tray.
  • the ring-like seat support is widely fixed when stored in the frame volume and can hardly or not move in the frame volume. This is especially of advantage in case the child seat system is transported from one place to another, e.g. from home to a restaurant and back.
  • the ring-like seat support is removably mountable at the seat base by a fin-slit latching system.
  • a fin-slit latching system is technically easy and provides a reliable connection between the seat base and the ring-like seat support.
  • the fin-slit latching system comprises at least one fin and at least one opening configured as slit.
  • the at least one slit is configured to receive the at least one fin.
  • the fin-slit latching system comprises at least one latching element.
  • Such latching element is configured to fix or lock the at least fin to the at least one slit providing a sufficiently reliable and safe connection of the seat base and the ring-like seat support in the mounted state.
  • the fins can be comprised by the ring-like seat support insertable into slits provided by the seat base.
  • the fins can also be provided by the seat base and the slits, in which the fins are insertable, can be comprised by the ring-like seat support.
  • a latching element can comprise e.g. a bolt to lock a fin in slit, when the fin is inserted into the slit. Further, such latching element can e.g. comprise a snapping element or clicking element, which e.g. realizes a fixing by elastic reset forces.
  • a fin may have a mechanical tension and/or may comprise a protruding part that provides the possibility to reversibly lock the fin in a fixing position in the receiving slit.
  • at least one multi-part fin can be used, which has slightly different directions of its multiple fin elements relative to the slit opening, which can be used to fix the multi-part fin in the slit-like opening e.g. by warping.
  • a slit-latching system allows to arrange and fixe the seat base and the ring-like seat support in a defined position in an easy way.
  • the seat base can comprise at least one slit-like opening directable towards at least one fin comprised by a ring-like seat support and configured to receive such fin, whereas the ring-like seat support and the seat base can be removably attached to each other by inserting the at least one fin, especially latching the least one fin, into the at least one slit-like opening. It has shown that a plurality of fins and corresponding slits is of advantage to reach a stable and defined arrangement of the ring-like seat support and the seat base relative to each other.

Description

Child seat system for placing a child being an infant or a toddler
TECHNICAL FIELD
The disclosure relates to a child seat system for placing a child being an infant or a toddler.
BACKGROUND
For placing a child safely in certain environment, e.g., on a floor, on a table, on a chair, etc., especially in context of taking a meal, seats, respectively chairs, for children are known. Such chairs can e.g. be configured as high chairs, booster chairs or infant-safe booster chairs or may have other configurations.
Typically, each chair is adapted for a child of a certain age range, e.g. for infants or for toddlers. In context of this patent application an infant shall be considered a child having an age of one year or less, whereas a toddler is a child having an age between one and five years. Due to the different needs of infants and toddlers there are different chair configurations for children in infant stage and for toddlers.
Many of the available chairs designed for children do not sufficiently fulfill the parents or care-givers requirements. Often several different types of chairs, especially also in different locations, e.g. at the floor during play time or at the table during meal time, are used, including e.g. stand-alone high chairs, booster seats, table attachment chairs or the like. The use of several chairs at the same time for a certain child is costly and the chairs are often adapted to a specific age range or size range of a child. If a child leaves such age range a new chair is required reflecting the needs of such grown child.
It is known that young infants have different developmental needs from older toddlers. E.g. infants between four to five months are supported sitters who can sit up only with help; around six to seven months, infants start to gain the ability to sit independently by themselves. Around eight to eleven months, infants gain the ability to stand and feed themselves. By the time they are two-years old, children develop the ability to sit in boosters and child seats on their own.
Many of the currently available chairs or seats meant for a five-month-old infant are too small and too constraining for a two year old toddler. In addition, younger infants require chairs that are comparably rigid and are configured to provide the necessary support and safety. A close fit of the child by the chair, e.g. by a respective support, works as an extra safety feature in terms of limiting the movement of a child, especially preventing the child of slipping or falling from the chair. In addition, such close fit support assists the cleaning in case of spilled food. Toddlers, especially older toddlers of two years or older, may find these chairs comprising a respective support as too limiting and uncomfortable. As a result, different chairs are required for different ages and sizes of children.
CN202027224-U discloses an exemplary child dining highchair, which comprises a vehicle frame, a chair seat and a dining plate, wherein the dining plate is used for containing food or other objects. The chair seat is arranged on the vehicle frame, the dining plate is detachably arranged on the chair seat, the back side of the dining plate is provided with a clamping structure, and the clamping structure is clamped with the vehicle frame. The utility model points out that the presented dining chair shall be of simple structure, safe and easy storable, when it is dissembled.
The presented chair is however still comparably complex in its construction, it is hard to dissemble, and has obviously disadvantages in terms portability and mobility due to its size. Further the chair is not flexible regarding the usage for older children that left the infant stage and require less safety features.
Another chair for children is disclosed in LIS20170119172 showing a booster seat including a storage compartment for a tray and/or a storage compartment for securing straps. The strap-storage compartment can be formed in the base and include an access opening with a closure for retaining the straps in the compartment. A base panel can be provided for stability and support.
Such chair as presented in US 20170119172 discloses a more compact configuration improving portability of the chair. However, also this chair provides a low level of flexibility, as the chair is only usable as booster chair for children of specific age range.
A more flexible chair in terms of usability for children over wider range of ages is disclosed in US20190365118 providing an improved child seat allowing easier cleaning and adaptation to suit children of various sizes and ages. The child seat can include features such as a removable seat pan that has upwardly curved edges to keep debris inside the seat pan and which allows for easy clean up. The seat pan can be removed to enlarge the chair for a growing child to fit inside the child seat. For additional flexibility, the child seat can incorporate a height adjustment mechanism to support the seat and match the stature of the child. This height adjustment mechanism can also be used to clamp the child seat to a tabletop.
This chair is a high flexibility in terms of usage for children of various size and ages, however has the disadvantage of being configured of a high number of parts which causes problems in terms of portability, transportation and storing of these parts in case, some of them are not needed.
It is object of the invention to provide a flexible child seat system that is applicable for children of variable sizes and ages and provides an improved configuration in terms of portability.
SUMMARY
The above stated problem is solved by the features of the independent claims. It is understood that independent claims of a claim category may be formed in analogy to the dependent claims of another claim category. Further embodiments of the present disclosure are subject of the further dependent claims and of the following description, referring to the drawings.
Accordingly, it is provided child seat system, especially a dining child seat system, for placing a child being an infant or a toddler, comprising a seat base comprising a seat base surface on which a child can be placed, especially in a front side direction, and a, especially ring-like, seat base frame supporting the seat base surface, whereas the seat base frame is configured such that it provides an accessible storing volume limited by boundary areas of the seat base frame. Further the child seat system comprises a ring-like seat support, which is removably mountable at the seat base, whereas the ring-like seat support is configured such that in the mounted state the child placed on the seat base surface is enclosed circumferentially by the ring-like seat support around a normal center axis of the seat base surface, especially in a plane perpendicular to a the normal center axis of the seat base surface, whereas the ring-like seat support is further configured such that it is entirely insertable in the provided storing volume, a tray, which is removably mountable to the ring-like seat support to be operated in a working position and which is removably mountable to the seat base to be operated in a parking position, whereas in the parking position the tray limits the storing volume as additional boundary area.
The presented child seat system is of modular configuration, as the seat base, the seat base in combination with the ring-like seat support and the seat base in combination with the ring-like seat support and the tray can be used independently. This has the effect that the chair can be adapted to requirements of children of different sizes and ages, especially of infants and toddlers. Thus, this child seat system provides a high level of flexibility to adapt the seat to the needs of the specific age and/or size of the child. In consequence costs for different chairs due the development of children can be reduced as the presented child seat system can be used over a comparably long age range of the children, especially e.g. from an age of few months to several years.
Furthermore, the child seat system is highly compact, as the ring-like seat support can be stored in the storing volume provided by the seat base. This is of advantage, if the child gets older and the ring-like seat support and tray is not used anymore due to the development of the child. No additional space is required, as the ring-like seat support fits entirely in the volume provided by the seat base. The ring-like seat support encloses in the mounted state the child positioned on the seat base surface circumferentially around the longitudinal axis of the child.
Especially it is advantageous, if the ring-like seat support is configured to enclose the positioned child on the seat base surface around its normal center axis. The normal center axis of the seat base surface typically is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the child positioned on the seat base surface. The center axis is arranged normally, i.e. in normal direction to the seat base surface, which is perpendicular to the seat base surface.
Such compact configuration is also of advantage in context of the portability or mobility. When the child seat system needs to be transported the child seat system provides its own compact transportation container.
The child seat system provides a storage volume for the main, especially all, components of the flexible and modular child seat system by itself. This reduces the probability of loss or damage of components, which are not in use. It further provides the possibility to store other components of the child seat system or other equipment that is typically used in context with the child seat system, like e.g. cushions for the child seat system, drinking bottles, tissues, plates, cups, etc.
According to the presented child seat system, the tray has not only a function in its working position, which is the function of supporting dishes, food, toys or the like. The tray has also a function when it is arranged in the parking position. In the parking position the tray serves as lid, respectively cover, for limiting the storing volume provided by the seat base frame. In the parking position the tray protects the components arranged in the volume and prevents them from falling out. At the same time the tray is stored by itself efficiently in the parking position. This provides a compact and efficient configuration, which enables especially also an easy portable and mobile child seat system.
The child seat system comprises a seat base. The isolated seat base can be considered as booster seat. The seat base comprises an area where the child shall be placed, especially positioned by sitting, if the seat is in use. This area, on which the child is supposed to be positioned, is considered as seat base surface. The seat base surface is arranged such that a child sitting on the seat base surface normally sits in a vertical position, i.e. the seat base surface is during use typically horizontally orientated. In consequence the normal direction to the seat base surface is typically a vertical direction when the seat base is in operation and is therefore typically parallel to the longitudinal axis of the child, when positioned on the seat base surface.
Further, the child can be positioned on the seat in a certain direction, e.g. the direction from which food is served. This side can be considered as front side. The seat base can be configured to support a certain position of the child on the seat, e.g. for the legs of the child or by elevation of edge parts comprised by the seat base. Such orientation of the child relative to the seat base is especially of relevance, if the seat base is used in combination with the ring-like seat support and the tray. Typically, the tray is arranged on the front side of the child seat system and the ring-like seat support is configured to provide space for the legs of the positioned child at the front side direction. The seat base frame supports the seat base surface. This means the seat base frame receives to weight of the child placed on the seat base surface. The seat base frame can be placed on a chair, on the table, on the floor or elsewhere. The seat base surface can be elevated versus the supporting structure on which the seat base frame is positioned. This allows the use of the seat base on its own as booster seat. The seat base frame can be of a ring-like shape increasing the mechanical stability of the seat base frame for receiving the weight of the child. The seat base surface can be separately attached to the seat base frame or can also be configured to be a part of the seat base frame.
The seat base has a configuration, which allows to provide and to limit the provided storing volume. Such limitation of the storing volume is provided by boundary areas of the seat base frame. Also, the seat base surface can provide a boundary area for limiting the storing volume. Such seat base frame can comprise closed surfaces like massive walls; but also grid-like structures or other configurations are possible, which allow to define an accessible and usable storing volume in which the ring-like seat support can be stored. The boundary area does not necessarily be a continuous surface but should be configured to prevent the ring-like seat support and potential further items stored in the storing volume from falling out during use or transport of the child seat system.
The child seat system further comprises a ring-like seat support, which is removably mountable on the seat base. The ring-like seat support is configured such that in the mounted state the child placed on the seat base surface is enclosed by the ring-like seat support, especially in a plane perpendicular to a normal direction of the seat base surface. This means that the child is circumferentially enclosed by the ring-like seat support. This provides a safe arrangement for child, further the ring-like seat support can be used by the child for stabilizing or balancing purposes.
The ring-like seat support can be especially used for infants before they can sit stable by themselves. The use of the ring-like seat support is therefore especially of advantage if the child is still in an infant-stage, however, it may also be used in a later age stage. The seat base and the ring-like seat support are aligned in their configuration such that the ring-like seat support can be inserted entirely in the storing volume provided by the seat base frame.
The ring-like seat support can be considered to be in a parking position when stored in the storing volume of the seat base. The ring-like seat support can be considered to be in working position when mounted at the seat base.
The child system further comprises a tray, which is removably mountable to the ringlike seat support. When the tray is mounted to the ring-like seat support, the tray is arranged in a working position allowing its use by the child or the caregiver. The tray can be used e.g. for playing with toys, eating, serving food etc. The working position of the tray is typically arranged in a horizontal position, i.e. in a plane that is perpendicular to the normal direction of the seat base, respectively perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the child.
In addition, the tray is also removably mountable to the seat base. If mounted to the seat base, especially to the seat base frame, the tray can be arranged in a parking position. If arranged in that parking position, the tray limits the storing volume by a respective boundary area, typically its working surface or the surface opposite to the working surface of the tray. The seat base frame and the tray are configured such that the ring-like seat support is entirely insertable in the storing volume and the tray can work as lid or cover for the storing volume in case the ring-like seat support is positioned entirely in the storing volume.
Preferably, the tray is configured such that the working side of the tray, i.e. the side of the tray which is in use in the working position by putting e.g. toys, food on it, is facing in the parking position towards the volume.
It is advantageous, if the tray is mountable at an end of the seat base, especially at the end the seat base frame, which is arranged opposite to the seat base surface. In operation of the seat base, such end would correspond to the bottom side of the seat base. Such arrangement of the tray at the seat base frame allows to maximize the available volume limited by the seat base and the tray.
In a further embodiment of the child seat system the seat base is configured to be in one piece and the storing volume is limited by the boundary areas of the seat base surface and the seat base frame. To configure the seat base such that it is provided in one piece allows a stable and at the same time a light configuration of the seat base. In addition, if the seat base is configured in one piece, no maintenance of the seat base is required, e.g. like checking screws or other fixing elements. The same advantages are present, if the ring-like seat support is configured to be in one piece. Preferably, the seat base and the ring-like seat support are each configured as one piece.
In a further embodiment of the child seat system the ring-like seat support is configured to have a hollow truncated cone-like shape comprising a lateral support wall, whereas the hollow truncated cone-like shaped ring-like seat support comprises in the mounted state and in the normal direction of the seat base surface a seat support top edge and a seat support bottom edge, whereas a seat support volume is defined by the space arranged between the seat support top edge and the seat support bottom edge, whereas the seat base frame is configured to have a hollow truncated cone-like shape comprising a lateral frame wall, whereas the hollow truncated conelike shaped seat base frame comprises a frame top edge and a frame bottom edge in normal direction, whereas a frame volume is defined by the space arranged between the frame top edge and the frame bottom edge, whereas the frame volume is larger than the seat support volume.
If the frame volume is larger than the seat support volume it is possible to place to the seat support entirely in the storing volume provided by the seat base frame. It is especially of advantage, if a maximum distance of the frame top edge from the frame bottom edge in normal direction is equal or larger than the maximum distance of the seat support top edge from the seat support bottom edge.
The hollow truncated cone-like shape of the ring-like seat support and the hollow truncated cone-like shape of the seat base frame can each preferably be configured to have a symmetrical cross section in a plane perpendicular to the normal direction of the seat base surface.
The shape of the cross section can e.g. be circular, elliptic rectangular, triangle-like or have another shape, especially comprising rounded corners and/or curved sections. In a special embodiment, the hollow truncated cone-like shaped ring-like seat support may have a four-leaf clover-like shaped cross-section. In a preferred embodiment, the maximum extension of the ring-like seat support in normal direction N is smaller than the maximum extension of the seat base frame in normal direction N.
Due to the hollow truncated cone-like shape of the ring-like seat support and due to the hollow truncated cone-like shape of the seat base frame the diameter of the cross-section typically changes in normal direction. E.g. the respective cross-section of the ring-like seat support or the seat base frame can increase, especially in a linear way or in a stepwise way, or decrease, especially in a linear way or in a stepwise way, in a direction away from the seat base surface. In a special embodiment the diameter of the cross-section may be constant in normal direction.
An increase of the diameter of the cross-section of the hollow truncated cone-like shaped ring-like seat support in normal direction away from the seat base surface is of advantage as it collects objects, which e.g. fall down or are handled by the child in uncoordinated way. This can be e.g. toys, food, dishes, cutlery, like a spoon, etc. Such shape of the seat support therefore acts as funnel. In addition, such shape allows an easy positioning of the child on the seat base surface while the seat support is mounted on the seat base. The funnel shape allows an easy insertion of the child due to the increased cross-section at the seat support top edge and guides the child into the ring-like seat support towards the seat base surface, on which the child shall be positioned.
A decrease of the diameter of the cross-section of the hollow truncated cone-like shaped ring-like seat support in normal direction away from the seat base surface is of advantage as it allows a tighter or closer fit configuration around the child. In other words, the liberty of action for the child is decreased, allowing a more reliable stabilization of the child and increasing the safety aspects of the chair.
Preferably, the shape of the hollow truncated cone-like ring-like seat support and the shape of the hollow truncated cone-like seat base frame correspond to each other. E.g. the cross-section of the hollow truncated cone-like ring-like seat support and the shape of the hollow truncated cone-like seat base frame may have the same shape, however may have a different size. The size relation of the cross-sections may be configured such that the hollow truncated cone-like ring-like seat support can be inserted into the frame volume, especially in a guided way, whereas the guidance may be provided by a lateral wall of the ring-like seat support and the seat base frame adapted to each other.
E.g. the seat base frame and the ring-like seat support can each have the shape of a hollow truncated four sided pyramid, whereas the ring-like seat support defines a seat support volume that is smaller than the frame volume defined by the seat base frame. The side length of the base area of the respective hollow truncated four-sided pyramids can be configured such that the hollow truncated four-sided pyramid shaped ring-like seat support fits into the hollow truncated four-sided pyramid seat base frame. The distance between the walls of these hollow truncated four-sided pyramids when arranged in the parking position may be configured to be less than 1 cm, especially less than 0,5 cm, especially less than 0,1 cm.
It can be advantageous that the hollow truncated cone-like shape may vary circumferentially in its extension, respectively length, in normal direction. A circumferential variation in this context shall mean that a variation of the extension can be provided in circumferential direction around the normal center axis, i.e. an axis in normal direction going through the center of the seat base surface.
E.g. the hollow truncated cone-like shaped ring-like seat support may have a smaller extension, especially a length of the lateral frame wall, in normal direction at a front portion than at the back portion, especially than a length of the lateral frame wall in normal direction at the back portion. This allows a variable shape of the ring-like seat support and e.g. an opening structure to position the legs of a child. In addition or in an alternative thereto, the hollow truncated cone-like shaped seat base frame may have a smaller extension, especially a smaller length of a lateral frame wall, in normal direction at a front portion than at the side portions and/or back portion, especially than the length of the lateral frame wall in normal direction at the side portions and/or back portion. This allows a variable shape of the seat base frame e.g. an elevation of the seat base frame via the seat base surface in normal direction at the side portions and/or the back portion.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the child seat system the lateral support wall is configured to have an inclination angle versus a plane perpendicular to a normal direction of the seat base surface, whereas the lateral frame wall is configured to have an inclination angle versus the same plane, whereas the smallest angle difference from the plane to the lateral support wall deviates at most +/- 20 degrees from the smallest angle difference from the plane to the lateral frame wall.
This has the effect, especially in combination with correspondingly selected crosssections for the hollow truncated cone-like ring-like seat support and the hollow truncated cone-like seat base frame, that a highly compact storage regime inside of the frame volume can be realized as the inclination of the lateral walls is compatible.
For determining the smallest inclination angle via the respective plane, the outer surface of the lateral frame wall can be considered or the inner surface of the lateral frame wall. The outer surface of the lateral frame wall is the surface directed away from the storing volume, whereas the inner surface of the lateral frame wall is the surface directed to the storage volume.
Preferably the smallest angle different for the ring-like seat support and the seat base frame is essentially, for each, constant in normal direction. However, also a mean value be utilized as smallest angle difference, if the smallest inclination angle varies in normal direction.
Further it is of advantage, if the smallest inclination angle or the lateral support wall and/or the lateral frame wall is essentially constant in circumferential direction around the normal center axis, i.e. especially all sides of the hollow truncated cone-like shape of the ring-like seat support and/or the seat base frame may have each essentially the same smallest inclination angle via the plane.
Correspondingly, as smallest inclination angle via the respective plane the outer surface of the lateral support wall or the inner surface of the lateral support wall can be considered. The outer surface of the lateral support wall is the surface adjacent to the inner surface of the lateral frame wall when the ring-like seat support is arranged in parking position. The inner surface of the lateral support wall is the surface opposite to the outer surface of the lateral support wall.
In case the smallest inclination angle of the outer surface of the lateral frame wall via the plane perpendicular to the normal direction and the smallest angle difference of the inner surface of the lateral frame wall via the same plane, it is advantageous to consider the inclination angle of the inner surface as this surface defines the boundary area of the storing volume. It is further advantageous that the outer surface of the lateral support wall is configured to have an inclination angle versus a plane perpendicular to a normal direction of the seat base surface, whereas the inner surface of the lateral frame wall is configured to have an inclination angle versus the same plane, whereas the smallest angle difference from the plane to the outer surface of the lateral support wall deviates at most by +/- 20 degrees, especially at most +/- 15, especially at most +/-10, especially at most +/-5 degrees, especially at most +/-1 degree from the smallest angle difference from the plane to the inner surface of the lateral frame wall.
Especially, the smallest angle difference is not equal to 90 degrees. Such configuration can be described as funnel in funnel arrangement, as outlined exemplarily with the shape of the hollow truncated four-sided pyramid shape of the ring like seat support and the seat base frame. Due to the angle arrangement the hollow truncated cone-like ring-like seat support is configured as a first, especially tighter, funnel, which can be stored due to his angle configuration in a second, especially wider, funnel, given by the hollow-truncated cone-like seat base frame. The smallest angle difference is of relevance and not the absolute angle, as the ring-like seat support might be flipped by 180° to be stored into the storing volume.
Especially it is of advantage, if the frame top edge defines a frame top area, whereas the seat support bottom area is smaller than the frame top area, the seat support bottom area and the frame top area are configured such that in the stored state the lateral support wall and the lateral frame wall touch each other in a circumferential direction around the normal center axis, especially whereas the lateral support wall and the lateral frame wall are configured to run parallel to each other. This allows a highly compact arrangement, as in the parking position of the ring-like seat support, the ring-like seat support touches the seat base frame. Such configuration provides an effective usage of the storing volume; no or little space in the storing volume is wasted and can be used for other items.
The described areas, i.e. frame top area, frame bottom area, seat support top area, seat support bottom area, are preferably configured as openings and not as solid surfaces.
Furthermore, its advantageous that the shape of the cross-section of the support top area and bottom area are the same as the shape of the cross-section of the frame top area and bottom area. It is advantageous if they only differ in size, e.g. the amount of area in square meters or square centimeters. This enables two four highly compact arrangements.
In a first exemplary configuration, the frame bottom area is smaller than the frame top area. This allows a small footprint of the seat base in terms of required standing area; however, this is of disadvantage in terms of mechanical stability of the seat base.
Normally, a small footprint of the seat base is also of no importance as chair, table, floor or other object on which the seat base is placed is normally large enough to receive the seat base.
In a second exemplary configuration of the seat base the frame bottom area is larger than the frame top area. This allows a stable positioning of the seat base, and the seat base is hard to overturn, when a child is positioned on the seat base surface.
In the mounted state the hollow truncated cone-like ring-like seat support can have two support configurations, which may be preferably combined with the second exemplary configuration of the seat base.
Firstly, the cross-section of the hollow truncated cone-like ring-like seat support can increase with increasing distance from the seat base surface in normal direction. This means the seat support top area is larger than the seat support bottom area.
Secondly the cross-section of the hollow truncated cone-like ring-like seat support can decrease with increasing distance from the seat base surface in normal direction. This means the seat support top area is smaller than the seat support bottom area.
Both configurations can be stored highly efficient in the storing volume provided by the seat base frame, especially if the smallest angle difference of the lateral support wall to the plane and the smallest angle difference of the lateral frame wall to the plane is equal. But even if the smallest angle difference is not equal but different as described above, the requirement that in the stored state the lateral support wall and the lateral frame wall touch each other in a circumferential direction leads to a highly compact arrangement providing usable storage room defined by the seat support volume. Both configurations of the ring-like seat support are possible, because the ring-like seat support can be turned by 180 degrees relative to the seat base, after being unmounted, to be inserted entirely into the frame volume. In the second configuration the seat support top area is in parking position adjacent to the frame top area. Here no flip of the ring-like seat support is required. In the first configuration, the seat support bottom area is in the parking position adjacent to the frame top area, i.e. a 180 degree flip of the ring-like seat support is required to insert the ring-like seat support entirely in the storing volume provided by the seat base frame.
Following configuration is especially of advantage in combination with the second configuration of the east base. In case the cross-section of the hollow truncated cone-like ring-like seat support increases in the mounted state with increasing distance from the seat base surface in normal direction, the seat support bottom area is preferably smaller than the seat support top area. In addition, the support bottom area is preferably smaller than the frame top area. In addition, the support bottom area and the frame top area can preferably be configured such that in the parking position of the ring-like seat support the lateral frame wall and the lateral support wall touch along the bottom edge of the ring-like seat support. In addition, the seat support top area can preferably be smaller than the frame bottom area. In addition, the seat support top area and the frame bottom area can preferably be configured such that the lateral frame wall and the lateral support wall touch along the seat support top edge. In addition, the smallest angle-difference between the lateral support wall and the lateral frame wall to the plane are preferably equal. In case the ring-like seat support is unmounted and stored into the volume provided by the seat base, such configuration allows a highly compact storing regime. The ring-like seat support can be stored into the volume provided by the seat base by flipping the ring-like seat support by 180 degree and inserting it entirely in the storing volume provided by the seat base. The lateral support wall and the lateral frame wall touch each other according to this embodiment circumferentially fully, i.e. in an angle area of 360° around the normal center axis.
By varying the shape of the ring-like seat support and the shape of the seat base frame, a touching configuration of the lateral support wall and the lateral frame wall can be selected that only establishes several touching points between the lateral support wall and the lateral frame wall in circumferential direction, still enabling a stable storing position for the ring-like seat support in the frame volume. Also the touching of the lateral support wall and the lateral frame wall in circumferential direction is preferably arranged entirely in a certain plane perpendicular to the normal center axis, however not necessarily. There is wide variation of configurations that allow to realize the advantages of a flexible child seat system. Especially the shapes of the seat base frame and the ring-like seat support can be varied in wide range still being a hollow truncated cone-like shape.
Especially in case the smallest angle-differences of the lateral support wall to the plane and the lateral frame wall to the plane are equal, the walls may touch along their whole extension in normal direction. Alternatively, they may be arranged parallel to each other with a distance of less than 1 cm, preferably less than 0,5cm, whereas the lateral frame wall and the lateral support wall do not touch along their whole extension in normal direction. Such configuration maximizes the remaining storage volume for other items when the ring-like seat support is in parking position, like for a cushion, a bottle or the like, when the ring-like seat support is arranged in parking position; on the other hand, the ring-like seat support can be fixed in the parking position along the circumference of the lateral support wall by touching the lateral frame wall. In case the lateral support wall and the lateral frame wall touch each other along the whole length in normal direction, their surface may be configured to be made from a material of sufficient hardness to avoid scratches in the respective walls in the parking position and when inserted and removed from the parking position. In normal direction the ring-like seat support can be fixed by the tray.
This means the ring-like seat support is widely fixed when stored in the frame volume and can hardly or not move in the frame volume. This is especially of advantage in case the child seat system is transported from one place to another, e.g. from home to a restaurant and back.
In a further embodiment the ring-like seat support is removably mountable at the seat base by a fin-slit latching system. Such fin-slit latching system is technically easy and provides a reliable connection between the seat base and the ring-like seat support. The fin-slit latching system comprises at least one fin and at least one opening configured as slit. The at least one slit is configured to receive the at least one fin. The fin-slit latching system comprises at least one latching element. Such latching element is configured to fix or lock the at least fin to the at least one slit providing a sufficiently reliable and safe connection of the seat base and the ring-like seat support in the mounted state. Such connection is sufficiently safe, if the ring-like seat support and the seat base can only be removed consciously. The fins can be comprised by the ring-like seat support insertable into slits provided by the seat base. However, the fins can also be provided by the seat base and the slits, in which the fins are insertable, can be comprised by the ring-like seat support.
A latching element can comprise e.g. a bolt to lock a fin in slit, when the fin is inserted into the slit. Further, such latching element can e.g. comprise a snapping element or clicking element, which e.g. realizes a fixing by elastic reset forces. E.g. a fin may have a mechanical tension and/or may comprise a protruding part that provides the possibility to reversibly lock the fin in a fixing position in the receiving slit. Also at least one multi-part fin can be used, which has slightly different directions of its multiple fin elements relative to the slit opening, which can be used to fix the multi-part fin in the slit-like opening e.g. by warping. A slit-latching system allows to arrange and fixe the seat base and the ring-like seat support in a defined position in an easy way.
Especially, the seat base can comprise at least one slit-like opening directable towards at least one fin comprised by a ring-like seat support and configured to receive such fin, whereas the ring-like seat support and the seat base can be removably attached to each other by inserting the at least one fin, especially latching the least one fin, into the at least one slit-like opening. It has shown that a plurality of fins and corresponding slits is of advantage to reach a stable and defined arrangement of the ring-like seat support and the seat base relative to each other.
In case of a plurality of fins, separate fins may have separate different functions, e.g. a guiding function or a latching function. E.g. a first group of fins, comprising at least one fin, can be configured as guiding fin, which facilitate the attachment of the ringlike seat support and the seat base. E.g. a second group of fins, comprising at last one fin, can be configured as latching fin, which provided the locking of the ring-like seat support and the seat base in the mounted state. In a special embodiment all fins comprised by the plurality of fins may comprise a latching element. This provides a very stable connection of the ring-like seat support and the seat base; however the flexibility is reduced as in case of removal of the ring-like seat support from the seat base several latched fins need to be unlocked.
In a further embodiment the seat base comprises a front portion, a back portion arranged opposite to the front portion and two side portions connecting the front side and the backside portion, whereas the seat base comprises at least three slit-like openings, whereas the two side portions each comprise at least one slit-like opening each and the backside portion comprises at least one slit-like opening, whereas the at least three slit-like openings are arranged such on the seat base that fins of the ring-like seat support are insertable by approaching the ring-like seat support base to the seat base along the normal direction. Approaching along the normal direction means that the ring-like seat support and the seat base are approached relative to each other in normal direction; preferably the ring-like seat support is approached from the upside of the seat base, which is arranged in working position, i.e. against the direction of the normal vector of the seat base surface. However, also the seat base can approach the ring-like seat support in direction of the normal vector of the seat base surface to insert the fins in the slit-like openings.
This is advantageous as on the one hand the number of fins can be held comparably low. Three fins would be sufficient; on the other hand, a reliable connection between the ring-like seat support and seat base can be provided. The front portion corresponds to the front side of the seat base, which is direction in which the face of the child is directed when positioned on the seat base.
This configuration can be further improved in case the ring-like seat support comprises three fins, whereas two of the three fins are insertable in the slit-like openings of the side portions, especially one fin per side portion, and are configured to guide the position of the ring-like seat support during mounting, whereas one, especially multi-part, fin is insertable in the slit-like opening of the back portion, whereas the slitlike opening of the back portion and/or the fin to be inserted in the back portion is configured to establish a latch connection between the ring-like seat support and the seat base. This is a safe and comfortable solution for fixing the ring-like seat support at the seat base. In addition the ring-like seat support can be removed easy and fast, if necessary. In a further embodiment the tray comprises first fixing means and second fixing means, whereas the first fixing means are configured to removably mount the tray in the working position on the ring-like seat support, whereas the first and the second fixing means are configured to fix the tray in the parking position. This means the same fixing means, i.e. the first fixing means, are used to fix the tray in the working position at the ring-like seat support and are used to fix the tray in the parking position at the seat base. The second fixing are used in addition to the first fixing means to fix the tray in the parking position.
In a further embodiment the first fixing means are arranged at a first edge of the tray and the second fixing means are arranged at a second edge of the tray, whereas the first and the second edge are arranged in parking position opposite to each other at a tray plane perpendicular to the normal center axis, whereas the second fixing means comprise a latching element, whereas the seat base is configured to receive and fix the latching element. The tray plane is a plane perpendicular to the normal center axis when arranged in the parking position, which comprises the tray. The first fixing means are arranged on one side the tray in the tray plane and the second fixing means are arranged at the opposite side of the tray in the tray plane. This enables a stable locking of the tray in the parking position as the fixing means are spatially distributed. The second fixing means are further configured as latching element, which interact with the seat base such that in the latched state the tray is safely locked at the seat base. The seat base is configured such that it may receive the latching element and provide a locked state together with the latching element. In such locked state that the tray cannot be removed from the seat base, respectively from the parking position, by accident.
In a further advantageous embodiment the tray is shaped such that in the parking position the tray forms together with the seat base frame a recess, especially an opening area in which the storing volume is not limited by the tray, whereas the recess is dimensioned such that the recess can be utilized as carry handle, whereas the recess is further dimensioned such that the ring-like seat support cannot be removed from the storing volume without removing the tray from the parking position. The recess can further be dimensioned such that the ring-like seat support is held in the storing volume by the tray arranged in the parking position. The recess improves the portability of the child seat system as the child system can be easily carried, if the tray is arranged in the parking position.
Referencing to the embodiments above, it is further advantageous to use a hollow- truncated cone-like shaped ring-like seat support together with such recess configuration. The hollow-truncated cone-like shape defines a seat support volume, which is sub-volume of the frame volume, which can be used as storing room for further items. The recess can be configured such that the recess does not overlap with the support bottom area, respectively the support top area, whatever edge is adjacent to the tray in the parking position. This allows to use the support volume as storing volume without the danger that items may fall out through the recess, which can be configured as opening area. In case the recess is not configured as opening area such danger is not given.
In a further embodiment the ring-like seat support and/or the seat base form in the mounted state isolated or jointly an opening structure in front side direction through which the legs of a child can be arranged in a front side direction. This allows a convenient, comfortable and safe sitting experience. The opening structure can be solely provided by the ring-like seat support or can be established by the ring-like seat support and the seat base in combination.
In a further embodiment the opening structure comprises in a mounted state one opening which is configured to be divided by a removable mountable strap in a first opening part and a second opening part, whereas in the mounted state the strap is arranged such that a first leg of the child can be guided through the first opening part and at the same time a second leg of the child can be guided through the second opening part, especially the strap is arranged such that it divides the one opening symmetrically. This configuration is advantageous as it requires few material and is therefore a light-weighted configuration. This improves the portability and mobility of the child seat system. In addition the strap can be stored in the seat base, if not required. However, typically the strap is required only, when the ring-like seat support is mounted at the seat base. In case the ring-like seat support is not required also the strap can be stored in the volume provided by the seat base. In such situation typically the tray is also not required which means the strap can be safely stored in seat base together with ring-like seat support, whereas the volume is closed by the tray arranged in the parking position. Further the problem is solved by a ring-like seat support for a child seat system according to one of the preceding claims, whereas the ring-like seat support is configured to enclose a child placed on a seat base to which seat base the ring-like seat support is removably mountable, whereas the ring-like seat support comprises at least one fin for mounting the ring-like seat support at a seat base, which is enabled to receive the at least one fin for removably attaching the ring-like seat support at the seat base, and whereas the ring-like seat support is configured to have a hollow truncated cone-like shape comprising a lateral support wall, whereas the lateral support wall comprises a smallest inclination angle with a plane perpendicular to the normal direction deviating at most by +/-20 degrees from a smallest inclination angle of a lateral frame wall comprised by the seat base frame to the plane, whereas the hollow truncated cone-like shaped ring-like seat support is dimensioned such that it is entirely insertable in a storing volume provided by the seat base. The ring-like seat support can comprise all components or an arbitrary combination of components described for the ring-like seat support in connection with the child seat system.
Further the object is solved by a tray for a child seat system according to one of the claims 1 to 14, whereas the tray comprises first fixing means and second fixing means, whereas the first fixing means are configured to removably mount the tray in a working position on a ring-like seat support for the child seat system, whereas the first and the second fixing means are configured to fix the tray in a parking position on a seat base frame comprised by a seat base, to which the ring-like seat support is mountable, whereas the tray is configured to at least partially limit a storing volume provided by the seat base when arranged in the parking position, whereas the first fixing means are arranged at a first edge of the tray and the second fixing means are arranged at second edge of the tray, whereas the first and the second edge are arranged in parking position opposite to each other in a tray plane perpendicular to a direction normal to a seat base surface comprised by the seat base, whereas the second fixing means comprise a latching element to fix the tray at the seat base frame. The tray can comprise all components or an arbitrary combination of components described for the tray in connection with the child seat system.
In an advantageous embodiment the tray is shaped such that, arranged in the parking position, the tray forms together with the seat base frame a recess, especially an opening area in which the volume is not limited by the tray, whereas the recess is dimensioned such that the recess can be utilized as carry handle and further dimensioned such that the ring-like seat support cannot be removed from the storing volume without removing the tray from the parking position.
Further the object is solved by a seat base for a child seat system according to one of the claims 1 to 14, comprising a seat base surface on which a child can be placed and a seat base frame supporting the seat base surface, whereas the seat base frame is configured such that it provides an accessible storing volume limited by boundary areas of the seat base frame, whereas the seat base frame comprises at least one slit-like opening configured to receive at least one fin comprised by the ringlike seat support to removably attach the ring-like seat support and the seat base, whereas the seat base frame is configured to have a hollow truncated cone-like shape comprising a lateral frame wall, whereas the lateral frame wall comprises a smallest inclination angle with a plane perpendicular to the normal direction deviating at most by +/-20 degrees from a smallest inclination angle of a lateral support wall comprised by the ring-like seat support, whereas the hollow truncated cone-like shaped seat base frame is dimensioned such that the ring-like seat support is entirely insertable in the storing volume. The seat base can comprise all components or an arbitrary combination of components described for the seat base in connection with the child seat system.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Figure 1 shows a perspective view of an exemplary child seat system 100. The child seat system 100 comprises a seat base 200, a seat support 300 and a tray 400. The seat support 300 is configured ring-like and is according to Figure 1 removably mounted on the seat base 200.
The seat base 200 can be used in isolation, or in combination with the ring-like seat support 300, or in combination with the ring-like seat support 300 and the tray 400 dependent on the requirements of the child for which the child seat system 100 shall be used.
The tray 400 is removably mounted at the ring-like seat support 300. Removably mounted shall mean that the seat base 200, the ring-like seat support 300 and the tray can be attached to each other in a reliable way and can be dissembled from each other in a controlled, especially easy and fast, way.
The seat base 200 is made as one piece. This allows easy use and easy handling. The seat base 200 comprises a seat base surface 201 . The direction normal to the seat base surface 201 is defined as normal direction; the axis through the center of the seat base surface in normal direction is the normal center axis N. On the seat base surface 201 a child, especially an infant, can be placed. In case the ring-like seat support 300 is mounted at the seat base, also a small toddler, e.g. between 12 and 18 month, can be placed.
The seat base surface 201 is supported by a seat base frame 202 providing a mechanically stable fundament for the seat base surface 201. The seat base frame 202 comprises a lateral frame wall 204 able to transfer the weight forces of the child to the supporting structure on which the seat base is positioned. Such supporting structure is not shown in Figure 1 and can be a table, a chair, a floor, etc.
The seat base frame 202 limits a storing volume 203 with the seat base surface 201 and the lateral frame wall 204. The seat base frame 202 can be elevated versus the seat base surface 201 in normal direction at the edges of the seat base surface 201 . This elevation of edge portions of the seat base 200, respectively of the seat base frame 202, allows a more stable sitting position of the child on the seat base surface 201 . In addition, additional storing volume can be provided by these elevated portions of the seat base frame 202. The elevated portions may be preferably arranged at the left-side and/or right-side portion and/or at the back portion of the seat base frame 202 when watching in front direction F.
The seat base frame 202 is configured as hollow structure. In the shown example the seat base frame 202 is configured to have a hollow truncated cone-like shape configured as hollow truncated four -sided pyramid. In a plane perpendicular to the normal direction, this seat base frame 202 has a square-like cross-section whereas the corners of the square-like cross-section are configured to be rounded.
The ring-like seat support 300 is considered ring-like as it provides a closed structure circumferentially around the normal center axis N. This allows to place a child in a safe way as support is provided in an angle range of 360 degree around the normal center axis N for the child. The ring-like seat support 300 is also made as one piece, providing easy handling, low maintenance efforts and mechanical stability.
The ring-like seat support 300 is also configured as hollow structure. In the shown example the ring-like seat support 300 is configured to comprise a hollow truncated cone-like shape configured as hollow truncated four-sided pyramid. In a plane perpendicular to the normal direction N, the ring-like seat support a square-like crosssection whereas the comers are configured to be rounded.
The ring-like seat support 300 comprises a lateral support wall 301 , which can have a variable extension in normal direction along its circumference, i.e. around the normal center axis N of the seat support surface 201 .
E.g. the extension of the lateral frame wall 204 on the front side F in normal direction can be reduced compared to the extension of the lateral frame wall 204 at the side and back portion in normal direction. Also, the extension of the lateral support wall 301 on the front side F in normal direction can be reduced compared to the the extension of the lateral frame wall 204 at the side and back portion in normal direction.
In such way a leg opening structure 0 can be realized, which allows to position the legs of a child when positioned such that it faces in front direction F. The leg opening structure is created jointly by the ring-like seat support 300 and the seat base 200. The four-sided pyramid shape of the ring-like seat support 300 is essentially provided by the lateral support wall 301 .
According to Figure 1 , a strap 500 can be mounted on the ring-like seat support 300 and the seat base 200, especially at a seat base strap fixing element 210 comprised by the seat base 200 and at a seat support strap fixing element 310 comprised by the ring-like seat support 300.
Preferably, the strap 500 comprises end units which can be latched, comprising clicked or snapped, into the seat support strap fixing element 310 and/or into the seat base strap fixing element 210. In the mounted state the strap 500 divides the opening structure O into to symmetric opening parts. The two opening parts are configured such that in each part at the same time one leg of the child can be positioned, respectively guided through the two opening parts. This provides a stable sitting position of the child on the seat base surface 201 surrounded by the ring-like seat support 300.
Additionally, a seat base fixing strap, not shown in the Figures, can be provided, which is used to fix the seat base on a supporting structure on which it is positioned, e.g. a chair. For this purpose, the seat base frame 202 may comprise openings to receive such seat fixing strap to mount the seat base 200 safely on the supporting structure. These openings are preferably arranged close a frame bottom area of the seat base frame 202. The seat fixing strap can be stored in the storing volume, when the seat base is not in use or the seat base 200 is not fixable with seat fixing strap on a supporting structure, e.g. when the seat base is positioned on the floor.
Figure 1 shows the ring-like seat support 300 in combination with the tray 400 in the mounted state, especially in the working position. The tray 400 is mounted by first fixing means 401 . These first fixing means 401 interact with the tray fixing element 304 comprised by the ring-like seat support 300. In the shown exemplary embodiment the tray fixing element 304 is configured as receiving openings positioned at opposite side portions of the ring-like seat support 300 close to the front side F.
The receiving openings 304 are configured to interact with the first fixing means 401 such that the tray 400 can be, especially pivotably, fixed at the ring-like seat support 300. The first fixing means 401 are configured as two elastic levers arranged on the back side of the tray 400, i.e. on the side directed away from the front side direction F. The two elastic levers each comprise an end unit that can be received by the receiving openings 304 to removably fix the tray 400 at the ring-like seat support 300.
The tray 400 is shown on its working position, i.e. a position in which it can be used by the placed child for playing, eating or other activities. In the working position the tray 400 is typically arranged perpendicular to the normal center axis N. The tray working surface 405 looks upwards, i.e. is arranged perpendicular to the normal center axis N and at the far side respective to the seat base surface 201 .
Figure 1 also shows second fixing means 402 comprised by the tray 400 which are configured to be used for fixing the tray 400 in the parking position, shown in Figure 4. As the tray 400 is arranged in Figure 1 in the working position the second fixing means 402 are not in use.
The seat base 202 as well as the ring-like seat support 300 are of a hollow structure. The seat base frame is configured to comprise a hollow truncated cone-like shape. Such seat base frame 202 has rectangular-like or quadratic-like cross-section in a plane perpendicular to the normal center axis N. The ring-like seat support 300 also comprises a hollow truncated cone-like shape. Also, the ring-like seat support 300 is configured to have a rectangular-like or square-like cross-section in a plane perpendicular to the normal center axis N.
Figure 2 shows the child seat system 100 according to Figure 1 in a dissembled state. The tray 400, the ring-like seat support 300 and the seat base 200 are shown separated from each other.
In addition to the elements already shown and explained in Figure 1 , a guiding fin 302 arranged at the left side portion of the ring-like seat support 300 and a latching fin 303 at the back side portion of the ring-like seat support 300 is visible in Figure 2. A further guiding fin is arranged on the right-side portion of the ring-like seat support 300, however not visible in the perspective view shown in Figure 2.
The latching fin 303 is configured as multi-part fin allowing to removably fix the ringlike seat support at the seat base 200, if the guiding fins are arranged properly in their respective slit-like openings 209 comprised by the seat base frame 202. The latching fin 303 comprises three parts, two edge parts and one center part, whereas the edge parts and the center parts are tensioned such, that if the latching fin 303 inserted in the respective slit-like opening 209, the latching fin is fixed in the slit-like opening 209 by elastic forces of the edge parts and/or the center part of the latching fin 303.
As already indicated, for the fixing of the ring-like seat support 300 at the seat base 200, respectively the seat base frame 202, the seat base frame 202 comprises a respective number of slit-like openings 209 configured to receive the guiding fins 302 or the latching fin 303. The slit-like openings 209 are comprised by the top edge of the seat base frame 202, i.e. the frame top edge 205. The frame top edge 205 defines the frame top area 207 of the seat base frame 202. The guiding fins 302 and the latching fin 303 are part of a seat support bottom edge 306 of the ring-like seat support. This is typically the edge oriented towards the seat base 200 shortly before attaching the ring-like seat support 300 at the seat base frame 202.
The ring-like seat support 300 also comprises a seat support top edge 305, which is the edge of the ring-like seat support 300 at the far side respective to the seat base surface 201 in normal direction. The seat support top edge 305, respectively the seat support bottom edge, define the seat support top area 307, respectively the seat support bottom area 308, by its edge boundaries. The seat base frame 202 also comprises a frame bottom edge 206 defining the frame bottom area by the edge boundaries. The seat support top area 307 is configured to be smaller than the frame bottom area, see Fig 4, reference sign 208.
Figure 3 shows a perspective view of the child seat system 100 in dissembled state. In this view the seat base 200 is flipped upside town. In this orientation the ring-like seat support 300, not flipped, can be entirely inserted in the storing volume 203 defined by the hollow structure of the seat base frame 202. Especially the guiding fins 302 and the latching fin 303 can be stored in the space provided by the elevated side and back parts of the seat base frame 202.
It becomes further visible from the view of Figure 3 that the seat support bottom area, see reference sign 308 Figure 2, is smaller than the frame top area 207, also see Figure 2, which is oriented in Figure 3 downwards. Further it is visible that the seat support top area 307 is smaller than the frame bottom area 208, oriented upwards in Figure 3.
Further it is visible that in the shown configuration of Figure 3 an inclination angle of the lateral frame wall 204, especially the inclination angle of the inner surface of the lateral frame wall via plane perpendicular to the normal direction, is essentially identical to the inclination angle of the lateral support wall 301 , especially of the outer surface of the lateral support wall 301 , of the ring-like seat support 300 via that plane.
The frame top area and the frame bottom area 208 is aligned with the seat support bottom area and the seat support top area 307 such that in the parking position the lateral frame wall 204 touches the lateral support wall 301 circumferentially around the normal center axis N, especial the support top edges 305.
This enables a very compact arrangement allowing additional storing volume limited by the lateral support wall 301 of the ring-like seat support 300 as boundary areas. This additional support volume is not used by the ring-like seat support 300 and can be freely used for other items that shall be or need to be stored, e.g. at least one cushion for the seat base, the seat fixing strap, the strap for dividing the leg opening structure.
Figure 4 shows the child seat system 100 in a dissembled state, whereas the ringlike seat support 300 is entirely inserted into the storing volume 203 provided by the seat base frame 202 and the seat base surface 201 . I.e. the ring-like seat support is arranged in the parking position. Further, the tray 400 is shown in its parking position functioning as cover for the storing volume 203 by providing an additional boundary area limiting the storing volume.
In the parking position the tray 400 is mounted to the seat base frame 202, especially to a bottom part of the seat base frame 202, by the first fixing means 401 and the second fixing means 402. The first fixing means 401 , comprising the two elastic levers, interact with the tray fixing elements 211 of the seat base frame 202. The first fixing means 401 are arranged at the first tray edge 403, the second fixing means 402 are arranged on the second tray edge 402, which is opposite to the first tray edge 403. The working surface 405 of the tray 400 is oriented away from the storing volume 203, i.e. looks in a direction away from the normal direction N of Figure 1 , and is arranged in plane, i.e. the tray plane TP, perpendicular to the normal direction N.
Each tray fixing element 211 receives one elastic lever comprised by the first tray fixing means 401 . Further the second fixing mean 402 is latched to the seat base frame 202. The first fixing means 401 and the second fixing means 402 provide together a fix mounting of the tray 400, respectively lock the tray 400, at the bottom of the seat base frame 202.
The first tray edge 403 has a concave shape. This shape provides a recess R when the tray 400 is arranged in parking position at the seat base frame 202. The recess R is dimensioned such that the recess R can be utilized as carry handle. Further, the recess R is further dimensioned such that the ring-like seat support 300 cannot be removed from the storing volume 203 without removing the tray 400 from the parking position. This increases the mobility and portability of the child seat system 100.
Further Figure 4 shows a plane P perpendicular to the normal center axis N. Here an exemplary inclination angle IF for the seat base frame 202 via the plane P is shown. As the seat base 200 and/or the ring like seat support 300 can be flipped, the smallest inclination angle between a lateral frame wall 204 and the plane P, respectively the smallest inclination angle between a lateral support wall and the plane P, is of relevance.
The shown smallest inclination angle IF is shown here for the outer surface of the lateral frame wall. This however makes especially sense, if the inclination angle IF of the outer surface of the lateral frame wall 204 via the plane P and inclination angle of the inner surface of the lateral frame wall 204 via the plane P are essentially the same. The outer surface of the lateral frame wall 204 is the surface directed away from the storing volume 203, whereas the inner surface of the lateral frame wall 204 is the surface directed to the storage volume 203. In case the inclination angle of the outer surface and the inner surface of the lateral frame wall 204 via the plane P are different, it is preferable to consider the smallest inclination angle of the inner surface of the lateral frame wall 204 and the smallest inclination angle of the outer surface of the lateral support wall. The outer surface of the lateral support wall 204 is the surface adjacent to the inner surface of the lateral frame wall 204 when the ring-like seat support 300 is arranged in the storing volume 203. It is preferable that the smallest angle difference of the inner surface of the lateral frame wall 204 to the plane P is essentially the same as the smallest angle different of the outer surface of the lateral support wall to the plane P.
Figure 5 shows the child seat system 100 in a so-called toddler mode. The ring-like seat support and the tray are removed from the seat base 200 and are arranged in the parking position in the storing volume provided by the seat base frame 202. So, a child of increased age can be positioned on the seat base surface 201 , which is supported by the seat base frame 202. The normal center axis N is arranged perpendicular to the seat base surface 201 and hits the center of seat base surface 201 .The seat base frame 202 comprises a lateral frame wall 204. Further Figure 5 shows the frame top edge 205 which defines the frame top area 207. The frame top edge 205 comprises three slit-like openings 209, which remain unused, when only the seat base is used as booster seat. Further in Figure 5 the support bottom edge 206 is shown as well as the seat base strap fixing element 210. The seat base 200 in isolated use can therefore be used as compact and stable booster seat for a toddler.
