Abstract

The present invention belongs to the technological sector of paper bags and packages and refers to a bag which can be assembled without the use of any adhesive, made up of a paper sheet (1) which forms the guide for the assembly of said bag, creased for folding and provided with openings (2) cuts, for introduction of handles (8) that promote the locking of the structure; provided with extreme longitudinal lines (3), that form the waist (4) of the bag mouth and that enables the introduction of a reinforcement (5); extreme cross-section lines (6), which define the area which will form the bag sides; central longitudinal lines (9), which define the region which will form the bag bottom and show triangular regions (12), which upon being folded increase the bag structural stiffness; the invention encompassing further the related assembly process.

Description

    Technical sector of the invention
  • In a broad manner, the present invention belongs to the technological sector of bags and packages designed for storing and transporting a series of articles, of the kind normally commercially provided to the customers to carry the acquired items, but can also have other uses. These bags can be manufactured in paper or other material the properties of which enable the same result, the invention relating to a bag, preferably made of paper, having the aspect of a handbag, which can be assembled in the absence of any adhesive.
  • Known state-of-the-art
  • The conventional paper bags are made up of a folded and glued sheet of paper, that is, the side and bottom closure is obtained by gluing. The opposed ends of the paper sheet are united by adhesive in a horizontal movement to form the bag body and the bottom requires gluing of independent parts to be formed. The union of bag sections by adhesive is a fragility aspect and this is particularly true as concerns the bottom, since it will support the weight of the item to be transported, becoming the most fragile bag spot.
  • As an example of a patent of this kind BR 202014019382-6 is cited, which reveals a bag obtained from a carton, cardboard, paper or similar ones, which is creased, cut, folded and glued, being provided with reinforcements for the bottom and upper folds. Several other bags and packages made of paper sheets are known, differing by the configuration of creases and folds that are performed to obtain the assembled shape of the bag, such as those described in the US2669382 , US3342402 , US6176615 and US2010/0111447 documents. In order to be assembled all these bags have in common the need to be glued.
  • The use of gluing to make the bags entails a series of problems and drawbacks, such as the cost of the equipment for gluing, required inputs, glue cure time, physical space required and adequate waste disposal. Besides, gluing is by nature susceptible to failures, leading to production process losses as well as setbacks and even damage of what is being transported, when in use. It is also the most expensive step of the production process. No matter the bag is assembled manually or in a machine, the required time for gluing is the higher among all process steps. In these conventional bags, the production of small and average amounts of sizes does not justify the cost with the machine setup.
  • Novelty and objective of the invention
  • The present invention refers to a bag formed in paper (or other material of similar properties), folded and fitted, which dispenses with the use of glue and has the aspect of a 'handbag'. A creased paper sheet for folds and cuts is the "map" for the formation of the structural body of the package, which enables the commercialization of the sheets accompanied by reinforcements and handles, so that the commercial location itself can perform the assemblage in seconds, thus reducing the cost of acquisition, storage, cubage, weight/transportation and accommodation.
  • By withdrawing the gluing from the process the end price is considerably reduced and the resulting product, in spite of being manually sealed, is competitive before the machine-assembled and - glued bags. The glueless model can also be machine-assembled. Further advantages of the absence of the use of glue are that users will no longer be in contact with a dangerous product and the bag disposal for recycling is more appropriate. Besides, the elimination of glue enables to obtain a more resistant product without the conventional bags bottom inherent fragility, and further, the productive process which makes use of the same existing resources, methods and machinery, while reducing inputs and production time.
  • As regards the bag assembling process itself, in contrast to most of the existing paper bags, where the opposing ends of a paper sheet are united (glued) in a horizontal movement to form the bag body, in the present invention the paper sheet is folded in a vertical movement, producing a U-configured body, having integral bottom and package opening at opposing ends. The integral bottom supports the weight to be transported and provides the bag with superior resistance.
  • According to this concept, once the bag body is assembled, two wings are obtained at each side. Each wing originates from one of the front and back faces. These wings accommodate one beside the other, forming a double wall and giving origin to the bag sides, which render the bag body effectively closed in its sides, again without the need of glueing.
  • The bag sheet is provided with orifices for the passage of handles at strategic spots, so that at this assembling stage these are disposed at the upper ends of the sides only, avoiding the bag front and back faces. Since the handles are applied to the sides only, they give the impression of being fitted on the front and back faces and provide the bag with the aspect of a handbag.
  • At the bag opening there are folding wings, turned towards the inner portion of the front, back and side faces, forming a U-shaped collar. Said collar aims at accommodating profiles that provide stiffness and resistance, having the same face width and preferred height of 3 and 5 cm. Each profile plays a relevant role in the effective functionality of the product. After the handles are applied to the sides, when the bag transports some article, its weight would naturally tend to tighten the opening, deforming it. In order not to deform the opening profiles of a certain stiffness are applied, each fitted on one side of the opening, to support the tension caused by the transported weight, maintaining the opening in the intended shape.
  • In order to lock permanently the structure in this condition and, as a replacement to glue, are used the side orifices and handles which trespass these orifices. In a preferred mode of the invention two orifices are provided at each of the two sides, positioned closer to the sides upper portion, separated and divided by a central crease. When the handle is in use, it pushes each side formed by the fold between the orifices one against the other, bringing with it also each of the package faces. Causing thus the bag mouth closure and providing it with the aspect of a handbag. In other modes of the invention, orifices can also be added to the upper end of each face and use the handbag itself for closure of the opening with a bow, providing the item with the function of a gift package.
  • The configuration of creases and folds sheet of paper aims at obtaining, when the bag is assembled, the formation of triangular structures superimposed at the bottom, which increase substantially the set strength.
  • Once the bag is assembled, it can be compacted for storage and, according to its concept, the contraction of its structure is performed by sides and bottom, thus preserving both faces from any folding.
  • Description of the attached drawings
  • In order that the present invention is fully understood and practised by any technical person of this technological area, its preferred modes will be thoroughly explained on the basis of the attached drawings listed below, which are only illustrative of the preferred modes presented for the sake of example only, without any intention to limit the protection to only these ones.

    Detailed description of the invention
  • The present invention relates to a folded paper bag made from a sheet (1) of paper creased for folding and with cut orifices (2), which form the guide for assembling said bag.
  • As can be seen from figures 1 to 6, the preferred mode of the invention provides a sheet (1) having in its ends parallel longitudinal creased lines, destined for folding, from now on in this specification called extreme longitudinal lines (3), which form the waist (4) of the bag opening (seen in figure 4) and which enable the introduction of a support (5) (which can be seen in figure 8), whenever necessary as required by the bag shape and dimensions.
  • Perpendicularly to the extreme longitudinal lines (3) and at the ends of sheet (1) are disposed parallel cross-sectional creased lines, from now on referred to as extreme cross-sectional lines (6), which define the area which will form the bag sides. Said extreme cross-sectional lines (6) intercept the extreme longitudinal lines (3) and form rectangular regions (7), at the center of which are disposed orifices (2), so that said orifices (2) coincide when the longitudinal lines (3) are folded to form the bag opening waist. Orifices (2) aim at receiving the introduction of handles (8) (illustrated in figure 8).
  • At the center of sheet (1) there are three creased lines parallel to extreme longitudinal lines (3), from now on called central longitudinal lines (9). Said central longitudinal lines (9) define the region which will form the bag bottom. At the intersection of said central longitudinal lines (9) with the extreme cross-sectional lines (6) square regions (10) are formed, which are divided by diagonal creased lines (11), which form triangular regions (12), that upon being folded will play a relevant role in the bag structural rigidity.
  • These extreme longitudinal lines (3), extreme cross-sectional lines (6) and central longitudinal lines (9), delimit areas (13) which will form the front and back bag faces.
  • The invention further contemplates the bag assembling process. Figure 9 represents the first step, the folding of the extreme longitudinal lines (3) to form the bag waist around support (5) (whenever such is required).
  • In Figure 10 the second step is seen, the folding of the region which will form the bag sides towards the interior of sheet (1) through the folding of extreme cross-sectional lines (6).
  • The following step is the lifting of the bag (13) front and back faces (represented in figures 11 and 12), by the folding of central longitudinal lines (9), forming the bag bottom. In this movement the folding and superimposition of the bag bottom triangular regions (12) and the superimposition of extreme cross-sectional lines (6) occurs naturally, forming the bag double sides. For obtaining fixation it is sufficient to introduce half the waist (4) inside the other half (as illustrated in figures 13 and 14), obtaining the assembled bag body illustrated by figures 15 and 16.
  • Finally, it is sufficient to introduce handles (8) and pull so that the front face and the back faces (13) are drawn one against the other, as shown in figures 17 and 18.
  • The so-obtained bag can further be compacted to be stored, as represented in figure 19, it being sufficient to push the front and back faces one against the other until they touch each other.
  • The present specification is directed to a folded paper bag and associated assembling process, endowed with industrial application, novelty and inventive step, all being requirements issued by the industrial property legislation to obtain the pleaded privilege.

Claims (5)

  1. - FOLDED PAPER BAG, made up of a paper sheet (1) creased for fold and with openings (2) being cut for introducing handles (8), characterized in that it is provided with extreme longitudinal lines (3) to form the waist (4) of the bag mouth, extreme cross-section lines (6) perpendicular to the former and that constitute the bag sides, central longitudinal lines (9) that form the bag bottom, which intercept the extreme cross-section lines (6) and form square regions (10) which are divided by diagonal creased lines (11) providing triangular regions (12), the extreme longitudinal lines (3), extreme cross-section lines (6) and central longitudinal lines (9) delimit the forming areas (13) of the front and back bag faces.
  2. - FOLDED PAPER BAG according to claim 1, characterized in that the extreme cross-section lines (6) intercept perpendicularly the extreme longitudinal lines (3) and form rectangular regions (7) at the center of which are positioned the openings (2).
  3. - FOLDED PAPER BAG according to claim 1, characterized in that it provides reinforcements (5) rolled up within the waist (4).
  4. - ASSEMBLY PROCESS ASSOCIATED WITH THE FOLDED PAPER BAG, characterized by the steps of:
    a) folding the extreme longitudinal lines (3) to form the bag waist (4);
    b) folding the extreme cross-section lines (6) and the region that forms the bag sides towards the interior of sheet (1);
    c) lifting the front and back faces of bag (13), by folding the central longitudinal lines (9), folding and overlapping the triangular regions (12) forming the bag bottom;
    d) overlap the regions of the extreme cross-section lines (6) and form the double sides of the bag;
    e) at each side introducing half of the waist (4) within the other half and obtaining the engagement of the double sides;
    f) introducing handles (8) in openings (2).
  5. - ASSEMBLY PROCESS ASSOCIATED WITH THE FOLDED PAPER BAG according to claim 4 characterized in that reinforcements (5) are rolled up within the waist (4).
