Description
- The invention relates to the wall absorbing vibrations and seismic shocks induced by artificial sources of oscillation such as, but not limited to, traffic, industrial activity, blasting or pulsation of a water stream.
- In the past and in the present, the protection of buildings and structural premises against artificially induced seismic shocks has not been and is not being solved. During the project preparation and during the design itself, only the seismic activity of the earth's surface is taken into account, and buildings and structural premises are designed and built with seismic resistance depending on the seismic activity of a given area. In designing of buildings and structural premises, no consideration is given to artificially induced shocks and vibrations, for example, caused by excessive traffic, whether road or rail, which may have adverse effects on buildings, constructions and structural premises, which are manifested mainly in the form of cracks and fissures in the walls of these premises, in other cases cracked paving and tiles, and plaster falling from walls and ceilings.
- The shortcomings of the prior art are remedied by the invention as defined, the essence of which is that there is proposed the vibration and oscillation absorbing wall formed by two reinforced concrete slabs, wherein the lower damping slab and the upper damping slab are bonded to each reinforced concrete slab in single layer on the inner side of each reinforced concrete slab, one above the other. These reinforced concrete slabs are joined to each other by the lower damping slab and the upper damping slab. The reinforced concrete slabs with the lower damping slab and the upper damping slab have offsets on the sides for their mutual positioning and joining. Each reinforced concrete slab has at least two nuts installed on the opposite side from the side to which the damping slabs are bonded, joined with the armouring structure, for handling with the reinforced concrete slab in the horizontal position. At least one 'U' clip is installed on the lower edge of the reinforced concrete slab, which is not rigidly joined with the armouring structure and whose main function is to prevent the slabs from separating from each other, particularly during the handling and placement, without creating the mechanical, rigid joining between the slabs so as not to transmit vibrations, which is ensured by the damping material between the clip and the slabs. At least two nuts are installed on the top edge of the reinforced concrete slab, joined with the armouring structure, for handling with the reinforced concrete slab in the vertical position, temporarily joined by strip, which is removed after the wall is installed in the earth trench. The armouring structure is reinforced with the group of straight and bent bars at the point between the lower nuts installed on the flat side of the reinforced concrete slab and the pair of nuts on the lower edge of the reinforced concrete slab. The joining of the reinforced concrete slabs is realized by means of at least one "U" clip separated by the damping material from the side wall as well as from the lower edge of the reinforced concrete slabs attached to the slab by means of the flexible strip which is attached to the walls by means of dowels and screws and prevents the movement of the "U" clip. The damping slabs are made of polyurethane elastomer with mixed types of pores of different thickness and resistance depending on their location.
- The armouring structure and the group of straight and bent bars are made of iron and/or steel and/or plastic and/or composite material.
- The vibration and oscillation absorbing wall is placed in the earth trench on the sand bed and subsequently the backfill is made around it with compaction and the interconnecting strip is removed. The joining of the individual blocks is performed by means of recesses and the wall may contain recesses to allow the passage of underground lines (sewage, water, electrical, data and other lines).
- The attached
figure 1 shows the vibration and oscillation absorbing wall, figure 2 shows the longitudinal cross section of the wall, figure 3 shows the cross section of the wall in the upper part andfigure 4 shows the internal armouring structure, figure 5 shows the location of the wall in the earth trench. - The vibration and oscillation absorbing wall formed by two reinforced concrete slabs 1,1a, wherein the lower damping slab 2 and the upper damping slab 3 are bonded in single layer on the inner side of each reinforced concrete slab 1,1a, one above the other. These reinforced concrete slabs 1, 1a are bonded to each other by the lower damping slab 2 and the upper damping slab 3. The reinforced concrete slabs 1, 1a with the lower damping slab 2 and the upper damping slab 3 have offsets 4 on the sides for positioning and joining them to each other. Each reinforced concrete slab 1,1a has at least four nuts 5, joined with the armouring structure 6, installed on the side facing away from the side to which the damping slabs 2 and 3 are bonded, for handling with the reinforced concrete slab 1 in the horizontal position. At least two nuts 7 are installed in the lower edge 10 of the reinforced concrete slab 1,1a, joined with the armouring structure 6. At least two nuts 8, joined with the armouring structure 6, are installed on the upper edge 11 of the reinforced concrete slab 1,1a for handling with the reinforced concrete slab 1,1a in the vertical position, which are temporarily joined by strip 17, which is removed after the wall is installed in the earth trench. The armouring structure 6 is reinforced with the group of straight and bent bars 9 in the place between the lower nuts 5 installed on the flat side of the reinforced concrete slab 1,1a and the pair of nuts 7 on the lower edge 10 of the reinforced concrete slab 1,1a.
- The joining of the reinforced concrete slabs 1,1a is made by means of at least one "U" clip 13 separated by the damping material 14 from the side wall 1,1a as well as by the damping material 15 from the lower edge 10 of the reinforced concrete slabs 1,1a, wherein the "U" clip 13 is attached to the joined reinforced concrete slabs 1,1a by means of the flexible strip 16 preventing movement of the "U" clip 13.
- The "U" clip 13 is not rigidly joined with the armouring structure 6 and its main function is to prevent the slabs from separating from each other, especially during the handling and storage, while not creating the mechanical, rigid interconnection between the slabs so that vibrations are not transmitted, which is ensured by the damping material 14,15 between the "U" clip 13 and the slabs 1,1a.
- The lower damping slab 2 is formed by polyurethane elastomer with mixed types of pores with the thickness from 12 to 25 mm and with the resistance from 0,35 to 0,5 MPa. The upper damping slab is formed by polyurethane elastomer with mixed types of pores with the thickness from 12 to 25 mm and with the resistance from 0,2 to 0,3 MPa. The damping material 14 is formed by polyurethane elastomer with mixed types of pores with the thickness from 12 to 25 mm and with the resistance from 0,1 to 0,2 MPa. And the damping material 15 is composed of polyurethane elastomer with mixed types of pores with the thickness from 12 to 25 mm and with the resistance from 4 to 5 MPa.
- The armouring structure 6 and the group of 9 straight and bent bars are made of iron and/or steel and/or plastic and/or composite material.
- The vibration and oscillation absorbing wall is placed in the earth trench 18 on the sand bed 19, and subsequently the backfill is made around it by compacting and the interconnecting strip 17 is removed. The joining of the individual blocks is made by means of recesses 4 and the wall may comprise recesses to allow the passage of underground lines (sewage, water, electrical, data and other lines).
