Definitions
- the present invention falls within the field of motor vehicle ventilation, heating and/or air conditioning systems, and more particularly relates to an electric radiator of such ventilation, heating and/or air conditioning systems.
- the electric radiators of these ventilation, heating and/or air conditioning installations comprise a heating body, in which heating elements are arranged across a flow of air to be heated, and at least one device electronic control of the heating elements.
- the electronic control device generally comprises a box within which is arranged a printed circuit board on which are installed various electronic components, which participate in generating a control instruction to be transmitted to the heating elements so that they heat up. Therefore, the heating elements are able to rise in temperature and the flow of air circulating between the tubes of the electric heater is heated by circulating between the tubes.
- the electric radiator can also comprise a temperature sensor intended to measure the temperature of the heating elements and/or of the flow of air circulating between the heating elements.
- the information collected by the temperature sensor is then transmitted to the control device electronics so that the latter adapts the temperature of the heating elements and thus regulates the air flow thermally.
- the connection between the temperature sensor and the electronic control device is ensured by an electronic connecting element which is connected at one end to the temperature sensor, which extends along the body heater of the electric heater and which is connected to a side face of the housing, away from the heating body, and closest to a connector fixed to the printed circuit board. It follows from this configuration that at least a portion of the cable forming the electronic connecting element extends away from the heating body and from the housing and that this portion is liable to be damaged. Specific sealing of the cable connection to the housing must also be carried out.
- the main subject of the present invention is an electric radiator of a ventilation, heating and/or air conditioning installation of a motor vehicle, the radiator comprising at least one heating element forming a heating body and a device electronic control of at least one heating element housed in a casing, the heating body and the casing being secured to one another, the electric heater comprising a separating wall arranged between the heating body and the housing, the radiator comprising at least one support for at least one temperature sensor, the support being disposed overlapping at least in part with the heating element(s) in the heating body, the electric radiator comprising an electronic connection element between the at least one temperature sensor and the electronic control device, characterized in that the separation wall comprises at least one orifice configured to be tra paid by the electronic linking element.
- the electric heater contributes to heating a flow of air circulating in the vicinity of the at least one heating element.
- the electric heater comprises several heating elements arranged parallel to each other, the flow of air circulating between the heating elements to be heated.
- the temperature sensor makes it possible to measure the temperature of the at least one heating element and/or of the flow of air circulating around the at least one heating element and to transmit the information or information collected to the electronic control device.
- the electronic control device can then issue, for example, a control instruction to the at least one heating element so that its temperature is adjusted to a target temperature.
- the connecting element is the component of the electric heater which provides the electrical connection between the temperature sensor and the electronic control device.
- This connecting element can for example take the form of a cable extending between the temperature sensor and the electronic control device, this cable being for example connected to a connection block of the electronic control device. It is understood here that the information or information collected by the temperature sensor is then transmitted to the electronic control device via the connecting element.
- the connecting element extends through the partition wall.
- the connecting element thus comprises a first portion in contact with the temperature sensor extending between the temperature sensor and the orifice of the separation wall, and a second portion in contact with the electronic control device extending between the electronic control device and the opening of the partition wall. It is particularly advantageous according to the invention for the connecting element to access the casing of the electronic control device by crossing the separation wall which is arranged between this casing and the heating body, since this makes it possible to reduce the path of the connecting element and to prevent it extending outside the electric heater to be connected to a side face of the housing.
- the connecting element can thus particularly be protected from shearing, for example.
- the support comprises a member for guiding the connecting element projecting from the support towards the electronic control device, the guide member extending through the partition wall into said orifice .
- the second part of the guide member may have a "U" section seen in a section perpendicular to the main direction of extension. It is understood that the guide member comprises a central wall and two side walls each extending from one of the ends of the central wall. This U-shape makes it possible to house and protect the wire or cable forming the connecting element.
- the guide member is arranged in a corner of the grid forming a support.
- the electronic connecting element 38 extends through the partition wall 26 to pass from the heating body to the electronic control device, without derivation outside the housing 10, which facilitates the mounting of the electric radiator 1 as well as the connection between the temperature sensor 34 and the electronic control device 8.
- the guide member has a "U" section seen in a section perpendicular to the main direction of extension, here the longitudinal direction. More particularly, this U-shaped section is obtained by a central wall and two side walls each extending from one of the ends of the central wall in the same direction parallel to each other, the connecting element 38 being disposed between each of these walls of the guide member 50, in the hollow of the "U" shape of the guide member 50.
- One of the side walls is perforated so that the groove formed in the first part 51 of the guide member opens into the hollow of the U-shape of the second portion 52 of the guide member and so that the electronic connecting element 38 is thus constantly protected.
- the sealing element can for example be a deformable material during its installation, which spreads in the space in which it is placed and then which solidifies once heated.
- the sealing element may in particular consist of a material elastomer, and for example silicone, or an adhesive, and this sealing element can be deposited for example by potting.
- This method comprises a first step assembly of the heating body with the at least one heating element 2 and the support 32 of the temperature sensor 34, during which the additional element 30 is placed relative to the heating elements 2 and to the guide member 50, so that the guide member 50 passes through the orifice 42 and the heating elements and the connection members 12 respectively pass through their associated lumen 48.
- This method also comprises a second sealing step during which a sealing element is arranged in the additional element 30 around the slots 48 and the orifice 42, and during which the housing 10 of the device electronic control 8 is attached against the heating body before the sealing element is polymerized.
- the temperature sensor 34 and the electronic connecting element 38 are installed on the support 32, by housing the connecting element 38 in the recess 53 and in each of the grooves formed within the guide element 50.
- the assembly formed by the temperature sensor 34, the connecting element 38 and the support 32 is then installed on the heating body, and in particular here against the frame 4 equipped with these heating elements 2 , before being fixed by cooperation of the attachment means 35 integral with the support 32 on the frame 4.
- the support 32 is mounted on the heating body in two stages, with a first translational movement according to a axis inclined relative to the main, longitudinal and transverse extension plane, so as to accommodate the guide element 50 through the orifice 42, then with a second rocking movement allowing the attachment means to cooperate with the frame.
- the invention achieves the goal it had set itself, namely to provide an electric heater equipped with a temperature sensor, the assembly and sealing of which is not not complicated by the presence of this temperature sensor and a support for this temperature sensor.
- the present invention cannot however be limited to the means and configurations described and illustrated here and it also extends to any equivalent means and configuration as well as to any technically effective combination of such means, provided that it comprises a connecting element electronics connecting a temperature sensor to the electronic control module and that the electric radiator is configured to pass this electronic connecting element internally, through a separating wall between the heating body of the radiator and this electronic control module.
