Description

Gebiet der ErfindungField of invention

The present invention relates to a modular spray bar system for selective cooling and/or lubrication of rolls and/or rolling stock, in particular roll barrels, in a rolling stand.

Stand der TechnikState of the art

Spray bars for applying a cooling and/or lubricating medium to the surface of rolls arranged in a roll stand are basically known from the prior art. Such spray bars are designed individually for the corresponding rolling stand and the rolling task and are made in one piece, so that an adaptation of the rolling stock as well as changing rolling tasks and/or a different type of system always requires a complete replacement.

For example, this reveals DE 10 2009 040 876 A1 a spray bar for cooling a roll arranged in a roll stand, which is made in one piece and is arranged in the roll stand so as to be pivotable about a pivot axis parallel to the roll axis, and allows individual cooling.

Furthermore, from the US 4,247,047 a spray bar with a one-piece base body is known, which can be modularly equipped with differently designed nozzle plates in order to be able to react flexibly to changing rolling tasks.

The present invention is therefore based on the object of developing a spray bar in such a way that it can be easily adapted to changing rolling tasks, can be produced inexpensively and does not require any reserve parts to be kept.

According to the invention, the object is achieved by a modular spray bar system with the features of patent claim 1.

The modular spray bar system according to the invention for selective cooling and/or lubrication of rolls and/or rolling stock comprises at least one central connection block with at least one first fluid connection, which opens into a first main bore extending in the direction of a spray bar axis and which forms part of a first main fluid channel of a spray bar forms, and at least one first transverse bore which extends transversely from the first main bore and opens into a first fluid outlet opening; at least two central extension blocks that can be connected to the central connection block, each of the central extension blocks having a first main bore extending in the direction of the spray bar axis, which forms part of the first main fluid channel of the spray beam, and at least one first transverse bore that extends transversely from the first main bore and opens into a first fluid outlet opening; at least two outer extension blocks connectable to the central extension blocks, each of the outer extension blocks having a first main bore extending in the direction of the spray bar axis and forming part of the first main fluid channel of the spray bar, and at least one first transverse bore extending transversely from the first main bore and opens into a first fluid outlet opening; at least two outer connection blocks that can be connected to the outer extension blocks, each with at least one second fluid connection, which opens into a first main bore that is closed on one side and extends in the direction of the spray bar axis, the one forms the end part of the first main fluid channel of the spray bar; and at least one bracing element by means of which the spray bar formed from the different blocks can be braced.

The completely modular spray bar system allows a solution tailored to the respective requirements of the rolling stand and/or changing rolling task, in that the respective blocks can be individually assembled to form a spray bar. Since the system according to the invention only includes four different types of blocks, series production of these is particularly cost-effective and does not require the respective customer to keep reserve parts, so that additional storage costs can be saved. The modular structure of the entire spray bar also allows for quick replacement if one or more blocks wear out, without the entire spray bar having to be laboriously dismantled and maintained.

Further advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in the dependent claims. The features listed individually in the dependent claims can be combined with one another in a technologically sensible manner and can define further embodiments of the invention. In addition, the features specified in the claims are specified and explained in more detail in the description, with further preferred embodiments of the invention being presented.

In an advantageous embodiment variant it is provided that each of the blocks has a second main bore which runs parallel to the first main bore and which each forms part of a second main fluid channel of the spray bar. In this context, it is particularly preferably provided that each of the blocks selected from the series of central connection block, central extension block and outer extension block comprises at least one second transverse bore which extends transversely from the second main bore and opens into a second fluid outlet opening. It is particularly preferred here that the second main fluid channel has a larger cross section than the first main fluid channel, via which the cooling and/or lubricating medium for roller barrel cooling can be conveyed within the spray bar to the respective transverse bores and the adjoining fluid or coolant outlet openings. Through the different channels, the cooling and/or lubricating medium can also be conveyed with the same or different pressures, so that adaptation to the rolling task to be performed is guaranteed.

In principle, the second main fluid channel can be fluidly connected to the first main fluid channel. However, it is advantageously provided that both main fluid channels are not fluidly connected to one another and that each of the outer connection blocks then comprises at least one third fluid connection which opens into the second main bore. It is preferably provided that the second main bore of each of the outer connection blocks is closed on one side.

In a further advantageous embodiment variant it is provided that each of the blocks comprises at least one nozzle plate for receiving spray nozzles. Each of the nozzle plates advantageously comprises at least two openings arranged one above the other into which the spray nozzles for cooling and/or lubrication can be inserted. It is particularly preferred that all nozzle plates are standardized in terms of their dimensions, so that only one basic type of nozzle plate is required for the different blocks. Using differently designed spray nozzles, which are available in a wide range in terms of flow rate and spray characteristics, the spray bar and the nozzles can be adapted to the corresponding cooling and/or lubrication requirements.

In principle, a single nozzle plate with the corresponding spray nozzles can be arranged on each of the blocks, with the exception of the central connection block. It is advantageously provided that the central connection block comprises two nozzle plates, each of the nozzle plates in turn comprising two openings for the spray nozzles arranged one above the other.

The outer connection block 40 has a second and a third fluid connection 41, 42 on the back, the second fluid connection 41 opening into a first main bore 43 and the third fluid connection 42 opening into a second main bore 44. The two main bores 43, 44 each form a final part of a first or a second main fluid channel 45, 46 of the spray bar and are therefore closed on one side. In contrast to the blocks 1, 20, 30, the outer connection block 40 in the embodiment variant shown here has no transverse bores and no nozzle plate. Furthermore, the outer connection block 40 comprises a connecting element 47, which is used to fasten the spray bar in a framework (not shown).

In Figure 5 an embodiment variant of a spray bar 47 composed of the blocks 1, 20, 30, 40 is shown, which are clamped together in a fluid-tight manner via one or more bracing elements (not shown). The number of central and outer extension blocks 20, 30 shown here refers to those in Figure 5 shown embodiment variant and can vary depending on the desired width of the rolling stock. As can be seen from the illustration, the spray bar 47 comprises a central connection block 1, three central extension blocks 20 arranged on both sides of the connection block 1, followed by three outer extension blocks 30 arranged on both sides of the central extension blocks 20, and one each on the two distal ends of the spray bar 47 arranged outer connection block 40.

The main advantage of the modular spray bar system 2 according to the invention is that it provides a solution tailored to the respective requirements of the rolling stand and/or changing rolling task. As in Figure 5 shown, the respective blocks 1, 20, 30, 40 can be individually assembled to form the spray bar 47. Due to the only four different types of blocks 1, 20, 30, 40, system 2 can also be produced particularly cost-effectively and does not require the respective customer to keep reserve parts, so that additional storage costs can be saved. Furthermore, the system 2 allows rapid maintenance in the event of wear, in that the respective blocks 1, 20, 30, 40 can be replaced without the entire spray bar 47 having to be laboriously removed. The main advantage of the structure described here is that in the event of wear, the entire spray bar does not have to be remanufactured, but only the affected components. Another advantage is that, depending on the rolling task, a spray bar can be assembled from prefabricated modules.
