Description
- The present invention relates to a double door installation assembly, which enables a sectional door and a quick-opening door to be installed inside a building. The assembly comprises a vertical frame with two guides, intended to receive and guide both the quick-opening door and the sectional door. The present invention further relates to an associated locking method, which prevents the two doors from closing at the same time.
- Due to the configuration of the assembly, it is possible to install the two types of door in the same entrance opening of a building without having to perform channels in the door frame, the quick-opening door being on the outermost portion and avoiding the use of additional parts that protect the doors from inclement weather.
- A plurality of door types are known in the state of the art which are especially used to be installed in industrial warehouses, garages or oversized buildings. Among this type of industrial door, sectional doors and quick-opening doors are worth noting.
- On the one hand, sectional doors usually include a series of panels, the adjacent horizontal edges of which are connected by joining elements. When the door is opened or closed, the panels move along two lateral rails by means of wheels they have on the lateral edges. These doors can be opened and closed by means of a small motor or manually.
- Within sectional doors there are a variety of configurations, such as doors that are below the ceiling to save space and the rails of which usually include a vertical section and an upper section with a curved transition section between the two, or those with fully vertical opening, among others. In the event that the rails have curvature, the joining elements are hinges that enable at least some of the panels to curve towards the upper section of the rails.
- On the other hand, high-speed doors are known, which stand out for the high opening and closing speed thereof, so that they are normally used in industrial sectors where there is high traffic. These types of doors are made of flexible materials such as canvas, and normally have a roller at the upper portion of the door frame that is responsible for rolling up or unrolling the flexible fabric as required. In other configurations known in the state of the art, the flexible fabric or canvas is folded or gathered in alternative ways.
- In the event that the two types of door are to be placed in the same opening, the solutions known until now in the state of the art involve the independent installation of the doors, having to make a channel or tunnel in the frame of the building. In this way, the opening necessary for the installation of this door type is very high.
- Additionally, in the case of installing both doors, the quick-opening canvas door must always remain inside to avoid acts of vandalism and inclement weather, so lateral plates are usually installed to improve the closing and protect the door against the wind. The traditional way of installing these doors is performed by installing the sectional door attached to the fagade, installing a support structure and installing the high-speed door behind it. This system involves additional trims and closing panels or plates.
- Thus, the solutions known in the state of the art for integrating both doors in one same door frame take up a lot of space, channels must be performed in the door frame, and they require additional protective parts.
- The present invention relates to a double door installation assembly, intended to install a quick-opening door and a sectional door inside a building, facing an entrance opening of the building, comprising respective vertical frames that can be coupled to the inner wall surface on both sides of the perimeter edge of the opening. Each vertical frame comprises at least one core intended to be fixed to the inner surface, a first vertical guide linked to the core that is intended to facilitate the guided movement of the quick-opening door and a second vertical guide linked to the core that is located farther from the core than the first vertical guide to facilitate the guided movement of the sectional door.
- In this way, the installation of a sectional door and a quick-opening door inside a building is enabled and simplified, without having to perform channels in the building frame. The configuration of the assembly enables the space required for the installation of both doors to be reduced. Due to the configuration of the assembly, the quick-opening door can be installed outside the sectional door, the sectional door facing the inside of the building and the quick-opening door facing the outside of the building.
- The first vertical guide may be linked to the core by means of a first wing that extends from a first end of the core, intended to be closer to the opening, and the second vertical guide may be linked to the core by means of a second wing that extends from a second end of the core, intended to be closer to the opening than the first end, in this way, the space needed to install the two doors around a frame is minimal. The length of the second wing may be about 150 mm and that of the wing about 73 mm, reducing the space occupied by the vertical frame. Likewise, the vertical frame can be a 2 mm-thick galvanised steel folded or profiled profile.
- The invention additionally relates to a method for selectively activating the door lock comprising the steps of receiving the information on the opening or closing status of a sectional door or a high-speed door by means of a sensor, verifying the information received by means of a receiver and sending the received information to a control unit, locking the closing of the sectional door or the quick-opening door by means of the control unit based on the received information, preventing the two doors from closing at the same time. In this way, when the sectional door is closed, for example, at night, the quick-opening door cannot be closed, preventing acts of vandalism from the outside, for example. When the quick-opening door is closed, the sectional door cannot be closed, preventing personnel entering from the outside from having an accident due to not seeing the sectional door from the outside.
- To complement the description that is being made and in order to help make the features of the invention more readily understandable, according to a preferred practical exemplary embodiment thereof, a set of drawings is attached as an integral part of said description wherein, for illustrative and nonlimiting purposes, the following has been represented:
