- According to a first embodiment of the disclosure, there is provided a method of fitness exercising of a subject with an apparatus comprising a negative pressure chamber, comprising the steps of pre-programming the pressure variation inside the negative pressure chamber through a data processing means, enclosing a part of a human body to the negative pressure chamber, applying an exercise program of pressure values inside the negative pressure chamber for a pre-defined amount of time, based on the condition of the subject and the expected outcome. Known exercise devices that comprise a negative pressure chamber is suitable for applying the exercising method as described in the current disclosure. Such apparatuses are described for example in
PCT/EP2012/060935 WO2009051765A1 . These apparatuses may comprise treadmills or fitness bicycles. Exercising while having enclosed a part of the human body, and especially the lower part of the human body, into the negative pressure chamber has been found to provide significant advantages. Applying negative pressure to the lower part of the human body results in an increase of the heart rate which in combination with the movement of the muscles stimulates the lymphatic system. However, the inventors have observed that based on the condition of a subject, which may preferably be a human being, and the desired outcome by such subject, they can pre-program the pressure variation inside the negative pressure chamber and consequently create an exercise program applying the pre-programmed pressure values inside the chamber. In that way and provided that the method of exercising is applied on a frequent weekly basis, the human will identify other health benefits, such as better regulation of the metabolism, fat and weight loss that significantly contribute to the overall wellness of the subject. Additionally, the possibility of pre-programming the pressure variations according to customized needs or desires, results in a plurality of individual, customized exercising programs that along with the normal exercising (walking, running etc.) provide additional health benefits such as improved blood flow that has impact on, for example, loss of local weight of cellulite improvement, without the need of other technical means, since the process is carried out naturally with the aid of negative pressure programs. Further, the preprogramming of the pressure variations inside the negative pressure chamber may be applied through a suitable data processing means. Such means may comprise a processor that may communicate with the fitness apparatus and may be capable of receiving the relevant input pressure parameters from a control panel of the apparatus. Other suitable processing means may be also contemplated, without deviating from the teachings of the present disclosure. - In an embodiment, an apparatus suitable for carrying the herein described method of exercising is provided in
figures 1 and2 . Such fitness apparatus comprises a plurality of components that, when assembled, provide the fitness device offigure 1 . Theapparatus 1 comprises anegative pressure chamber 5 capable of accommodating the lower part of the human body. A belt is also located within the chamber for tightening the part of the human body within the capsule. Access to that chamber (or capsule) may be facilitated by ashutter type opening 6 which works as a door.Figure 1 shows the fitness apparatus having thedoor 6 opened, thereby making visible thetreadmill 6 whilefigure 2 shows the fitness device having the shutter type opening closed. Thefitness device 1 may be equipped with a tread climber ortreadmill 8, located inside thechamber 8 and at least one pump (not shown) that is configured to create the negative pressure within thechamber 8. In addition, the pump may be controlled by acontrol panel 3, while thetreadmill 8 by anotherelectronic panel 18. Theelectronic panel 18 may be connected to the capsule and consequently to the treadmill with asupport base 4 which is preferably made by stainless steel. Further, acupholder 19 may be mounted also on the fitness device to facilitate the user during the exercise. A pair ofhandles 20 for being grabbed by the user during exercising may also be provided thus enhancing safety of the user in case of tiredness during intense sport activity. Any suitable fastening means such as hinges or screws may be used for the assembly of the various components of the fitness device, thus ensuring its stability during operation. - In other embodiments, pre-programming the pressure variation inside the negative pressure chamber comprises segmenting the pre-defined amount of time in two or more consecutive time intervals and assign pressure values to each of the two or more consecutive time intervals. In examples, the predefined amount of time is normally between 30-40 minutes, which is considered sufficient exercising amount of time when done on a frequent basis. Segmenting such amount of time in two or more consecutive time intervals, provides the opportunity to assign specific pressure values to each time interval and therefore apply the negative pressure in the most efficient way, depending on the subject needs.
- In an embodiment, segmenting the pre-defined amount of time comprises five consecutive time intervals, said consecutive time intervals comprising a first and a second time interval each of about 2 minutes, a third time interval of about 22 minutes and a fourth and a fifth time interval each of about 2 minutes, thus constituting a predefined amount of time that corresponds to an exercise program that is of about 30 minutes. These time intervals constitute consequently a fitness exercising program. Further, in such exercise program, during the first time interval the pressure values may be between -5 to - 15mb, the second time interval between -10 to -25mb, the third time interval between -15 to -30mb, during the fourth time interval between -10 to -25 mb and during the fifth time interval between -5 to -15 mb. In a specific example of that embodiment, the pressure decreases in the first time interval from 0 to approximately -5mb and remains constant at this value for about two minutes. The decrease of the pressure from 0mb to -5 mb has a duration of about 2 seconds which is considered a negligible amount of the overall 2minutes of the first time interval. Therefore, it can be interpreted that the negative pressure remains constant during the first time interval. Further, in the second time interval, the pressure decreases from -5mb to -10 mb, again within 2 seconds, and remains constant to -10mb during the second time interval which is of about 2 minutes. In the next phase of the program, which is the third time interval, the pressure decreases from -10mb to -15mb where it remains constant for about 22 minutes which is the duration of the third time interval. In the last two phases of that embodiment, which are the fourth and the fifth time intervals, the pressure increases from -15 mb to -10 mb where it remains constant for about 2 minutes while the program is completed with the increase of the negative pressure from -10mb to -5mb where it also remains constant for about 2 minutes. Such program wherein the pressure values remain constant during each of the consecutive time intervals has been found to be beneficiary for humans that suffer from chronical musculoskeletal pain as well as for people with varicose veins and cellulite. Last, such negative pressure distribution contributes to fat loss, and to the stimulation of the lymphatic system. In another specific example of that embodiment, the pressure decreases in the first time interval from 0 to approximately -10mb and remains constant at this value for about two minutes. The decrease of the pressure from 0mb to -10 mb has a duration of about 2 seconds which is considered a negligible amount of the overall 2minutes of the first time interval. Therefore it can be interpreted that the negative pressure remains constant during the first time interval. Further, in the second time interval, the pressure decreases from -10mb to -15 mb, again within 2 seconds, and remains constant to -15mb during the second time interval which is of about 2 minutes. In the next phase of the program, which is the third time interval, the pressure decreases from -15mb to -20mb where it remains constant for about 22 minutes which is the duration of the third time interval. In the last two phases of that embodiment, which are the fourth and the fifth time intervals, the pressure increases from -20 mb to -15 mb where it remains constant for about 2 minutes while the program is completed with the increase of the negative pressure from -15mb to - 10mb where it also remains constant for about 2 minutes. Such program is suitable for people with varicose veins and phlebitis while it also stimulates the lymphatic system. In a third example of that embodiment, the pressure decreases in the first time interval from 0 to approximately -15mb and remains constant at this value for about two minutes. The decrease of the pressure from 0mb to -15 mb has a duration of about 2 seconds which is considered a negligible amount of the overall 2minutes of the first time interval. Therefore, it can be interpreted that the negative pressure remains constant during the first time interval. Further, in the second time interval, the pressure decreases from -15mb to -25 mb, again within 2 seconds, and remains constant to -25mb during the second time interval which is of about 2 minutes. In the next phase of the program, which is the third time interval, the pressure decreases from -25mb to -30mb where it remains constant for about 22 minutes which is the duration of the third time interval. In the last two phases of that example, which are the fourth and the fifth time intervals, the pressure increases from -30 mb to -25 mb where it remains constant for about 2 minutes while the program is completed with the increase of the negative pressure from -25mb to -15mb where it also remains constant for about 2 minutes. Such program is suitable for people that already have an affinity with training and their physical condition is proper since the negative pressure is relatively high during the duration of the program. Such program, further strengthens the muscular system and tightens the skin.
- In another embodiment, segmenting the pre-defined amount of time comprises six consecutive time intervals, said consecutive time intervals comprising a first time interval of about 2 minutes, a second time interval of about 3-6 minutes, a third of about 4-13 minutes, a fourth of about 8-14 minutes, a fifth of about 3-9 minutes and a sixth of about 2 minutes and wherein the total amount of time of the pre-defined amount of time is between 30-40 minutes. These time intervals constitute consequently a fitness exercising program. Further, in such exercise program, during the first time interval the pressure values may be between 0 to -5mb, the second time interval between -5 to -30mb, the third time interval between -7 to -28mb, during the fourth time interval between -8 to -30 mb, during the fifth time interval between -7 to -30 mb and during the sixth time interval a constant pressure of about -5mb. Further, in the second time interval, the pressure is further decreased and differentiating from -9mb to -30 mb. Such alternation of the pressure occurs approximately every 7 seconds for about 5 minutes, which is the duration of the second time interval. In the next phase of the program, which is the third time interval, the pressure decreases and differentiates from -18mb to -24mb, approximately every 8 seconds for about 8 minutes, which is the duration of the third time interval. In the fourth time interval, the negative pressure is decreased and differentiates from -21mb to -24mb approximately every 8 seconds for about 10 minutes, which is the duration of the fourth time interval. In a similar manner, during the fifth time interval the pressure differentiates between -9mb to -24mb every 9 seconds for approximately 3 minutes which is the duration of the fifth time interval, while in the last phase of the program, the sixth time interval, the pressure remains constant to -5mb for about 2 minutes. Such program has been found effective to the treatment of cellulite as well as to the local fat dissolution. A plurality of various examples and therefore relevant corresponding exercise programs can be created under the frame of that embodiment. Such exemplary exercise programs are indicatively shown in the below tables. These tables show the amount of time intervals, the duration of each time interval, the pressure variation within the negative pressure chamber and in details the pressure range during each time interval, and the alternation of pressure during each time interval meaning in how often (expressed in seconds) the pressure is alternating within the preferred preprogrammed range during each time interval.

Such programs contribute to the proper blood flow and are suitable to be followed after intense sports activities. Last, it has been found that, forexample program 8, has an effect in overcoming post thrombotic syndromes. - In another embodiment, segmenting the pre-defined amount of time comprises seven consecutive time intervals, said consecutive time intervals comprising a first time interval of about 2 minutes, a second time interval of about 3 minutes, a third of about 7 minutes, a fourth of about 7 minutes, a fifth of about 7 minutes, a sixth of about 2 minutes, a seventh of about 2 minutes and wherein the total amount of time of the pre-defined amount of time is of about 35 minutes. These time intervals constitute consequently a fitness exercising program. Further, in such exercise program, during the first time interval the pressure values may be between 0 to -5mb, the second time interval between -2 to -12mb, the third time interval between -4 to -14mb, during the fourth time interval between -5 to -15 mb, during the fifth time interval between -7 to -17 mb, during the sixth time interval between -5 to -17mb and during the seventh time interval the pressure remains substantially of about -5mb. In a specific example of that embodiment which corresponds to
example program 8 in the tables as shown below, the pressure decreases in the first time interval from 0 to approximately - 5mb and remains constant at this value for about two minutes. The decrease of the pressure from 0mb to -5 mb has a duration of about 2 seconds which is considered a negligible amount of the overall 2minutes of the first time interval. Therefore, it can be interpreted that the negative pressure remains constant during the first time interval. Further, in the second time interval, the pressure is further decreased and differentiating from -2mb to -12 mb. Such alternation of the pressure occurs approximately every 10 seconds for about 5 minutes, which is the duration of the second time interval. In the next phase of the program, which is the third time interval, the pressure decreases and differentiates from -4mb to -14mb, approximately every 10 seconds for about 7 minutes, which is the duration of the third time interval. In the fourth time interval, the negative pressure is decreased and differentiates from -5mb to -15mb approximately every 10 seconds for about 7 minutes, which is the duration of the fourth time interval. In a similar manner, during the fifth time interval the pressure differentiates between -7mb to -17mb every 10 seconds for approximately 7 minutes which is the duration of the fifth time interval, while in the sixth time interval the pressure decreases and differentiates from -5mb to -15mb, approximately every 10 seconds for about 2 minutes, which is the overall duration of the sixth time interval. In the last phase of the program, the seventh time interval, the pressure remains constant to -5mb for about 2 minutes. Such program has been found effective to the treatment of cellulite, local fat loss and skin tightening. In addition it has been found to enhance the metabolism while promoting the smooth blood distribution. A plurality of various examples and therefore relevant corresponding exercise programs can be created under the frame of that embodiment. Such exemplary exercise programs are indicatively shown in the below tables. These tables show the amount of time intervals, the duration of each time interval, the pressure variation within the negative pressure chamber and in details the pressure range during each time interval, and the alternation of pressure during each time interval meaning in how often (expressed in seconds) the pressure is alternating within the preferred preprogrammed range during each time interval.Example program 8Time intervals Duration (minutes) Pressure (mb) Alternation of pressure (every X seconds) 1 2 -5 2 3 -2 to -12 10 3 7 -4 to '-14 10 4 7 -5 to -15 10 5 7 -7 to -17 10 6 7 -5 to -15 10 7 2 -5 Example Program 9 Time intervals Duration (minutes) Pressure (mb) Alternation of pressure (every X seconds) 1 2 -5 2 3 -2 to -12 15 3 7 -4 to '-14 15 4 7 -5 to -15 15 5 7 -7 to -17 15 6 7 -5 to -15 15 7 2 -5 Example Program 10 Time intervals Duration (minutes) Pressure (mb) Alternation of pressure (every X seconds) 1 2 -5 2 3 -2 to -12 20 3 7 -4 to '-14 20 4 7 -5 to -15 20 5 7 -7 to -17 20 6 7 -5 to -15 20 7 2 -5 - In another embodiment, segmenting the pre-defined amount of time comprises eleven consecutive time intervals, said consecutive time intervals comprising a first time interval of about 2 minutes, a second time interval of about 3 minutes, a third of about 4 minutes, a fourth of about 5 minutes, a fifth and a sixth each of about 3 minutes, and a seventh to eleventh each of about 2minutes, wherein the total amount of time of the pre-defined amount of time is of about 30 minutes. These time intervals constitute consequently a fitness exercising program. Further, in such exercise program, during the first time interval the pressure values may be between 0 to -5mb, the second time interval between -2 to -12mb, the third time interval between -4 to -14mb, during the fourth time interval between -6 to -16 mb, during the fifth time interval between -8 to -18 mb, during the sixth time interval between -10 to -20mb, during the seventh time interval between -5mb to -15mb, during the eighth time interval between -10 to -20mb, during the ninth time interval between -4 to - 14mb, during the tenth time interval between -2 to -12 mb and wherein during the eleventh time interval the pressure remains substantially of about -5mb. Specific examples of that embodiment are shown in the tables below (exemplary fitness exercise programs 11-13). In a similar manner as in the previous embodiments, the pressure decreases in the first time interval from 0 to approximately -5mb and remains constant at this value for about two minutes. The decrease of the pressure from 0mb to -5 mb has a duration of about 2 seconds which is considered a negligible amount of the overall 2minutes of the first time interval. Therefore, it can be interpreted that the negative pressure remains constant during the first time interval. In the same way, the pressure remains constant also at the eleventh time interval of each exercise program, again at of about -5mb. In these programs as shown in the tables, the alternation/differentiation of the negative pressure within the time intervals occurs approximately every 10 or 15 or 20 seconds. Such programs has been found by the inventors to provide surprising improvement in the cellulite and relatively fast results in the local weight loss at the areas of buttocks and thighs, provided they are carried out on a frequent basis.
