Definitions
- the present invention relates to an adjusting device for furniture, with an adjusting element and a threaded part, which is held in a sleeve on the adjusting element, and a holder resting on the threaded part, the adjusting element being adjustable relative to the holder in the axial direction by rotating the threaded part , and a method for assembling an adjusting device for furniture.
- the DE 10 2015 102 771 A1 discloses an adjusting device for laterally adjusting a front panel of a drawer, in which an adjusting screw with a thread engages in a U-shaped bent sheet metal element in order to adjust the front panel in the lateral direction. If the adjusting screw is arranged in an end position during an adjustment process, continued turning of the adjusting screw can damage the side frame or the adjusting device.
- the adjusting element is designed as an adjusting pin surrounded by a helical spring, in which further rotation no longer leads to axial adjustment in an end position.
- the adjusting device with a large number of components is quite complex to manufacture and assemble.
- WO 2008/010036 A1 discloses a drawer with an adjusting device on a side frame for adjusting the position of a front panel. A side adjustment can be made by turning a screw.
- CN 102 525 147 A shows an adjustment device with two eccentrics.
- the adjusting device comprises an adjusting element with a sleeve in which a threaded part is rotatable, the adjusting element being adjustable in the axial direction relative to a holder by rotating the threaded part.
- the sleeve and/or the threaded part are designed to be resilient and elastic in the radial direction, and the thread of the threaded part slips on the sleeve when it reaches an axial end position.
- an engagement element on the sleeve which engages in the thread on the threaded part, is displaced outwards in the radial direction and causes the threaded part to slip in the sleeve in the axial direction. This prevents further adjustment and possible destruction of the components.
- An inwardly projecting engagement element in the form of a step, rib or projection is preferably formed on the sleeve.
- the engagement element does not have to be an internal thread that engages with an external thread of the threaded part, but it is sufficient if a step, a rib or a projection is formed on the sleeve that engages with the threaded part.
- the engagement element can be formed by a ring that can be expanded elastically in the radial direction and is separated from other components on its outside via an air gap.
- a sleeve with such an expandable ring can, for example, be connected to the actuating element via a connecting web and spaced apart in the axial direction, so that the sleeve can be expanded to a certain extent around the threaded part.
- the threaded part preferably has a thread with rounded threads.
- Such rounded threads do not have threads with tapered flanks that could dig into the material of the sleeve. Rather, the tapered threads are rounded at their ends and cannot damage the sleeve when the threaded part is turned.
- the threaded part is preferably arranged with a press fit in the sleeve.
- the threaded part can have an outer circumference that is between 0.2 mm to 1 mm, in particular 0.4 mm to 0.8 mm, is larger than an inner circumference on the engagement element, so that the threaded part is held in a clamping manner on the sleeve.
- the threaded part is preferably made as a cast part, for example made of metal. Then the threaded part is essentially dimensionally stable in the radial direction, and the elasticity for slipping of the threaded part is achieved by the elastically expandable sleeve, which is expandable radially outwards.
- the threaded part can have a flattening without a thread on opposite sides, so that the threaded part can be easily produced using the casting process. This means that rounded threads can also be produced that are not produced by cutting a thread.
- the adjusting element is preferably made of plastic, preferably as an injection molded part.
- the holder can encompass the threaded part in a U-shape, so that the adjusting element is adjusted relative to the holder by rotating the threaded part.
- Such an adjusting device is preferably used in furniture, for example to adjust the front panel on a drawer.
- a threaded part is first positioned on a sleeve of the adjusting element in order to then insert the threaded part into the sleeve in the axial direction, with an engagement element projecting inwards on the sleeve slipping over at least one thread turn on the threaded part. Furthermore, before or after inserting the threaded part, or at the same time, the holder is positioned on the threaded part, so that by rotating the threaded part, the adjusting element can be adjusted relative to the holder in the axial direction of the threaded part. This means that the adjusting device can also be assembled using an automated process.
- a drawer 1 includes a front panel 2 and two side frames 3, which connect the front panel 2 to a rear wall 4.
- a base 5 is held on the side frames 3, with the front panel 2 being adjustable on the side frames 3 to adjust a panel gap.
- a cover 31 is arranged on the side frames 3 in the front and rear areas.
- FIG. 2 a side frame 3 is shown, in which a cover 31 on the side of the front panel 2 is removed.
- a holder 6 surrounds an adjusting element 7, with several dowels 9 being provided on the adjusting element 7, which engage in receptacles in the front panel 2.
- a threaded part 8 is arranged on the adjusting element 7, which can adjust the adjusting element 7 relative to the holder 6 in the axial direction by rotating.
- the holder 6 is shown, which is formed from a U-shaped sheet metal which surrounds the threaded part 8 on opposite sides and holds it immovably in the axial direction.
- the adjusting element 7 within the holder 6 is adjusted in the axial direction.
- the adjusting element 7 is a strip-shaped component that is manufactured in particular by injection molding.
- the adjusting element 7 comprises a plurality of openings 12 for fixing the dowels 9.
- a sleeve 15 is formed on the adjusting element 7, in which the threaded part 8 is rotatably mounted.
- the sleeve 15 of the adjusting element 7 is shown in section. It can be seen that a thread 13 is formed on the outside of the threaded part 8, the threads being rounded, i.e. having no tapered cut thread flanks.
- the thread 13 has a flat 14 on two opposite sides, on which no threads are provided.
- the threaded part 8 is manufactured as a cast part, in particular as a zinc die-cast part.
- the threads of the rounded thread 13 are in engagement with an engagement element 16 on the sleeve 15, which is designed, for example, as a step, projection or rib.
- the engagement element 16 on the sleeve 15 is designed to be flexible and elastic in the radial direction and can allow the threaded part 8 to slip if a certain force is exceeded in the axial direction, in which the engagement element 16 on the sleeve 15 moves out of the thread on the threaded part 8 in the radial direction direction is displaced.
- the Figures 5A and 5B show the threaded part 8 in the respective maximum axial adjustment positions relative to the adjusting element 7.
- the threaded part 8 is shown spaced from the sleeve 15. It can be seen that the engagement element 16 is designed as a projection with a smaller diameter, which is connected via a step to the rest of the sleeve 15 with a larger diameter.
- the engagement element 16 can alternatively also be designed as a rib or step, with the projection engaging into the thread 13 of the threaded part 8 because the threaded part 8 is held in the sleeve 15 with a press fit.
- the area with a smaller diameter of the sleeve 15, the engagement element 16, has, for example, an inner diameter that is between 0.4 mm and 0.8 mm smaller than an outer circumference of the threaded part 8.
- the engagement element 16 arranged in the sleeve 15 lies with a certain preload on the threaded part 8 and ensures that the adjusting element 7 is displaced in the axial direction relative to the holder 6 by rotating the threaded part 8.
- the sleeve 15 is expanded in the area of the engagement element 16 in the radial direction in order to ensure that the threaded part 8 slips on the adjusting element 7, which prevents damage caused by over-tightening of the threaded part 8.
- FIG 7 the threaded part 8 is shown in the sleeve 15, the threaded part 8 having an integrally formed tool insert 17, which in this example is designed as a cross slot. This means that the threaded part 8 can be easily turned using a screwdriver.
- Figure 8 is the one too Figure 6 opposite side of the adjusting element 7 shown. It can be seen that the sleeve 15 is surrounded by a gap in the radial direction and can therefore be expanded in the radial direction.
- the sleeve 15 is held at the end on a connecting web 18 of the adjusting element 7, so that the sleeve 15 is mounted in an expandable manner at a bend 19 between the connecting web 18 and the sleeve 15.
- the engagement element 16 is arranged at a distance from the connecting web 18 in the axial direction, for example between 0.5 mm to 5 mm, in particular 1 mm to 3 mm. As a result, the sleeve 15 has a certain elasticity in the radial direction in the area of the engagement element 16.
- the sleeve 15 with the engagement element 16 can be elastically expanded in the radial direction. It is of course also possible, alternatively or additionally, to design the threaded part 8 to be elastically compressible in the radial direction, for example if it is made of a plastic or another material instead of metal.
- the threaded part 8 is positioned on the sleeve 15 in order to then insert the threaded part 8 into the sleeve 15 in the axial direction, so that the engagement element 16 slips on the threaded part 8 over at least one thread turn.
- the threaded part 8 can also be mounted on the sleeve 15 using an automated process.
- the threaded part 8 inserted into the sleeve 15 can then be surrounded by the U-shaped holder 8 in order to mount the adjusting device on a side frame 3.

It is therefore the object of the present invention to create an adjusting device for furniture and a method for assembling an adjusting device which provides over-rotation protection using simple means and is easy to assemble.
This object is achieved with an adjusting device with the features of claim 1 and a method with the features of claim 11.
The adjusting device according to the invention comprises an adjusting element with a sleeve in which a threaded part is rotatable, the adjusting element being adjustable in the axial direction relative to a holder by rotating the threaded part. The sleeve and/or the threaded part are designed to be resilient and elastic in the radial direction, and the thread of the threaded part slips on the sleeve when it reaches an axial end position. As a result, when a certain force in the axial direction is exceeded, for example when a stop is reached, damage caused by "over-tightening" the threaded part can be reliably avoided, since the threaded part slips before damage occurs. This simplifies handling during an adjustment process.
Preferably, when a predetermined force is exceeded, an engagement element on the sleeve, which engages in the thread on the threaded part, is displaced outwards in the radial direction and causes the threaded part to slip in the sleeve in the axial direction. This prevents further adjustment and possible destruction of the components.
An inwardly projecting engagement element in the form of a step, rib or projection is preferably formed on the sleeve. The engagement element does not have to be an internal thread that engages with an external thread of the threaded part, but it is sufficient if a step, a rib or a projection is formed on the sleeve that engages with the threaded part. The engagement element can be formed by a ring that can be expanded elastically in the radial direction and is separated from other components on its outside via an air gap. A sleeve with such an expandable ring can, for example, be connected to the actuating element via a connecting web and spaced apart in the axial direction, so that the sleeve can be expanded to a certain extent around the threaded part.
For reliable overtightening protection that does not lead to any damage, the threaded part preferably has a thread with rounded threads. Such rounded threads do not have threads with tapered flanks that could dig into the material of the sleeve. Rather, the tapered threads are rounded at their ends and cannot damage the sleeve when the threaded part is turned.
The threaded part is preferably arranged with a press fit in the sleeve. The threaded part can have an outer circumference that is between 0.2 mm to 1 mm, in particular 0.4 mm to 0.8 mm, is larger than an inner circumference on the engagement element, so that the threaded part is held in a clamping manner on the sleeve.
The threaded part is preferably made as a cast part, for example made of metal. Then the threaded part is essentially dimensionally stable in the radial direction, and the elasticity for slipping of the threaded part is achieved by the elastically expandable sleeve, which is expandable radially outwards. The threaded part can have a flattening without a thread on opposite sides, so that the threaded part can be easily produced using the casting process. This means that rounded threads can also be produced that are not produced by cutting a thread.
The adjusting element is preferably made of plastic, preferably as an injection molded part.
The holder can encompass the threaded part in a U-shape, so that the adjusting element is adjusted relative to the holder by rotating the threaded part. Such an adjusting device is preferably used in furniture, for example to adjust the front panel on a drawer.
In the method according to the invention for assembling an adjusting device, a threaded part is first positioned on a sleeve of the adjusting element in order to then insert the threaded part into the sleeve in the axial direction, with an engagement element projecting inwards on the sleeve slipping over at least one thread turn on the threaded part.
