Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for detecting the length of a particle in a crop flow consisting of particles in an agricultural harvesting machine according to the preamble of claim 1, an agricultural harvesting machine according to claim 16 and a data carrier with a training data set for use in the proposed method according to claim 17.
- the EP 2 098 109 a harvesting machine designed as a forage harvester, in which a crop flow is recorded by means of a camera system and the generated images are then subjected to an analysis in order to determine the particle size of the particles recorded in the images.
- the size of the particles is essentially determined by how intensively the harvested crop is chopped up by means of the chopper drum and a comminuting device, a so-called corn cracker, arranged downstream of it.
- the chopped material length determined in this way is then used to compare it with the preset so-called theoretical chopped length and to readjust it if there is a significant deviation.
- This readjustment can be done in different ways. By changing the feeding speed of the harvested crop to the chopping drum and/or changing the speed of the chopping drum, a more or less intensive chopping process can cause a change in the particle size. The same effect occurs when the intensity of comminution by the corn cracker is intensified or reduced by reducing or enlarging the cracker gap or gaps.
- Oversized particles of chopped crop in the corn silage have significant disadvantages for a farmer. Such particles can reduce the quality of the silage feed for dairy cows and promote the formation of mold during storage due to the resulting air pockets.
- the length of the crop particles depends largely on the farmer's operating conditions and is largely controlled by the theoretical chop setting on the forage harvester, which defines the desired particle size. Because a forage harvester can harvest hundreds of tons per hour, an efficient and robust system for measuring quality in the field is required.
- the methods known from the prior art often still require manual, error-prone separation steps or the sending of samples to an external laboratory, which in turn leads to long waiting times until the evaluation results are available.
- the invention is based on the problem of designing and developing the known method for detecting lengths of a particle in such a way that the detection accuracy is improved and/or the computing intensity is reduced.
- oversized particles have a strong negative effect in silage and when feeding livestock. It is therefore proposed here at an agricultural Harvesting machine to analyze images of the crop flow by means of a computing unit in an analysis routine and to derive particle lengths of particles of the crop flow contained in the images by means of this analysis.
- a machine learning method is used that is specially trained to find oversized particles.
- image processing methods which analyze the entire image, a large part of the image area is sorted out very early on, so that the computationally intensive operations are carried out much less frequently. This makes the method more economical to use and, in principle, real-time capable.
- the particle length derived in the analysis routine is an excess length and that the analysis routine is based on a machine learning method trained to find particles with excess length, that the computing unit in the analysis routine determines a quantity of particles with excess length.
- the training effort can also be reduced. Especially when training using manual annotations, significantly fewer particles per image have to be annotated due to the focus on overly long particles. Although more images are needed to train the machine learning process, this can be specifically trained more quickly.
- Claim 2 relates to the further use of the identified quantity of oversized particles, which can be displayed to a user and/or used to set machine parameters. This allows quick correction of erroneous settings that lead to overly long particles.
- Claims 3 to 5 relate to the preferred use of the method in a forage harvester, which is particularly affected by the overlength problem.
- At least one machine parameter of the agricultural harvesting machine is regulated by means of the quantity of oversized particles detected. This relieves a user and achieves a constant result.
- the analysis routine includes a suggestion step and optionally a classification step.
- a suggestion step which preferably uses little computing power to identify suggestion regions that potentially contain oversized particles
- a classification step which in particular only analyzes these regions
- more complex calculations can be carried out in the classification step, since this only applies to a few sections of the image is applied.
- a further increase in efficiency results if the classification step partially reuses calculations from the proposal step.
- the analysis routine is based on a trained neural network as a machine learning method, which is preferably a neural convolution network.
- Neural convolution networks achieve particularly good results in image processing.
- the suggestion step and/or the classification step are based on a trained neural network and preferably partially use the same trained neural network.
- Claims 9 and 10 relate to preferred embodiments of the suggestion step and the classification step. This enables a good combination of efficiency and accuracy. Claim 10 further relates to the possibility of providing a class with acceptable particles with excess lengths. This is of particular interest when certain excess lengths are systematically caused by the process and cannot be prevented or can only be prevented with great difficulty.
- Claim 11 specifies preferred definitions of excess length. These are chosen depending on normal scattering of particle lengths and the negative effect of longer particles.
- the arithmetic unit is trained from at least two Machine learning methods, which are each trained on different overlength areas, selects.
- Claims 13 to 15 relate to preferred configurations of a training step of the machine learning method.
- annotated images of the crop flow can be used and either general training with subsequent specific training for a plurality of training data sets or only one specific training can be carried out.
- a combination is also possible, in which some training data sets are first trained generally and then specifically and other training data sets are directly trained specifically. This takes into account the fact that with different definitions of excess length, there can also be systematic differences between the particles, which by no means only amount to a scaling of the particles. In particular, the homogeneity of a particle will often decrease with longer particles.
- Claim 14 relates to the training of anchor boxes, with a clustering method preferably being used as the starting point for training the anchor boxes.
- Claim 15 relates to the possibility of further generating different training data sets depending on a plant species and/or a harvesting period and/or a harvesting weather. In this way, increased accuracy can be achieved when identifying the oversized particles without increasing the computational effort when using the method.
- the focus is on the agricultural application of the proposed method.
- the in 1 illustrated forage harvester 1 illuminated, which then serves as an example for the application of the proposed method.
- the inside 1 Forage harvester 1 shown is used to carry out a harvesting process and has at least one working unit 2 for harvesting crops 3 and/or for processing crops 4 of crops 3 as part of the harvesting process.
- the crop 3 is corn plants.
- the forage harvester 1 harvests the crop 3 .
- the forage harvester 1 can also only pick up crops 3 that have already been harvested.
- the crop 4 obtained in this way is then processed by the forage harvester 1, in particular chopped.
- the harvested crop 4 here includes grain components and non-grain components.
- the grain components can be corn kernels from the corn plants.
- the non-grain components can then be leaves, stalks and the like of the corn plant.
- the forage harvester 1 preferably has a corn cracker 5 as the working unit 2 for processing the grain components.
- the at least one working unit 2 can be set with machine parameters. By means of this setting of the machine parameters can influence the function of the working unit 2 to a large extent.
- the machine parameters can be various conceivable functional parameters of the working unit 2 .
- the machine parameters can relate very specifically, for example to a stream, or, more abstractly, to a travel route of the forage harvester 1.
- the term “machine parameters” is therefore to be understood broadly.
- the corn cracker 5 can crush the harvested crop 4 .
- the corn cracker 5 here has two rollers 6 which, during operation, each rotate at a speed which can be set as a machine parameter.
- a gap 7 remains between the rollers 6 with a gap width that can be set as a machine parameter.
- the crop 4 is transported through the gap 7 when the forage harvester 1 is in operation.
- forage harvesters 1 with more than two rollers 6 and/or more than one gap 7.
- the forage harvester 1 can have three rollers 6 and two gaps 7.
- the rollers 6 preferably have a differential speed that can be set as a machine parameter, by which the speed of the rollers 6 differs. Due to the differential speed of the rollers 6, the grain components transported through the at least one gap 7 between the rollers 6 are crushed by the rollers 6. In order to achieve maximum comminution and thus high processing quality of the grain components, the gap width could be set to a minimum. However, this setting consumes more energy from the forage harvester 1 than is necessary.
- the forage harvester 1 shown and preferred in this respect has feed rollers 8a and/or feed rollers 8b as the working unit 2, in particular each with a speed that can be set as a machine parameter.
- a chopping length of the harvested crop 4 can be set via this rotational speed. This results in a theoretical cutting length TLOC of the chopped material based on the physical, varying actual chopped length.
- the forage harvester 1 can additionally or alternatively have a motor 9 as a working unit 2 with a speed that can be set as a machine parameter for driving the forage harvester 1 and for supplying at least one of the other working units 2 with energy.
- the forage harvester 1 can have an attachment 10 for picking up the crop 3 as a working unit 2 . This recording may include harvesting.
- the forage harvester 1 can also Have feed rollers 8a with an adjustable speed as a machine parameter in the usual way.
- the forage harvester 1 can also have a chopper drum 11 for chopping the harvested crop 4 as a working unit 2 . Since the chopper drum 11 is often coupled directly to the engine 9 of the forage harvester 1, provision can be made for the chop length to be adjustable essentially only via the feed rollers 8b, without changing the engine speed. However, other arrangements are also possible. Accordingly, provision can also be made for the chop length to be adjustable only secondarily via the feed rollers 8b.
- the theoretical cutting length TLOC is set specifically via the speed of the feed rollers 8a and/or the speed of the feed rollers 8b and/or a contact pressure of the feed rollers 8b and/or a speed of the chopper drum 11.
- the theoretical cutting length TLOC is preferably set via a number of chopper knives on the chopper drum 11, with the chopper drum 11 being able to be exchanged.
- the also adjustable speed of the rollers 6 of the corncracker 5 and the gap 7 have here and preferably a negligible indirect influence on the theoretical cutting length TLOC and are therefore not used for setting it. Other arrangements are conceivable and are known in principle.
- the agricultural harvesting machine has at least one working unit 2 for harvesting crops 3 and/or for processing crops 4 from crops 3, with at least one working unit 2 being adjustable with machine parameters.
- the particles 12 can be non-limiting grain components and non-grain components that have been comminuted by the forage harvester 1 .
- the agricultural harvesting machine has a camera 16 that takes pictures 15 of the crop flow 13 .
- the computing unit 14 is set up to analyze the images 15 of the crop flow 13 in an analysis routine and, by means of this analysis, to derive particle lengths of particles 12 of the crop flow 13 contained in the images 15 .
- the processing unit 14 can be part of the agricultural harvesting machine and/or cloud-based.
- the particle length L derived in the analysis routine is an excess length U
- the analysis routine is based on a machine learning method trained to find particles 12 with excess length U
- the computing unit in the analysis routine determines a quantity of particles with excess length U.
- a machine learning method is used that was specifically trained to find particles 12 with excess length U.
- particles 12 without an excess length U can be recognized in the meantime and then sorted out or the like, but particles 12 without an excess length U are not systematically recognized.
- not all particles 12 are first identified and recognized and then only those with excess length U are analyzed. Rather, the machine learning method is trained in such a way that it primarily looks for particles 12 with excess length U.
- the computing effort of the machine learning method is reduced compared to a method that analyzes all particles.
- a quantity of particles 12 with excess length U is determined in absolute or relative terms. If a proportion of particles 12 with excess length U is determined in a total quantity of particles 12, estimated values for the total quantity of particles 12 are preferably used for this.
- a rudimentary image recognition algorithm for counting the total amount of particles 12 is also fundamentally conceivable.
- the arithmetic unit 14 sets at least one machine parameter of the agricultural harvesting machine based on the quantity of oversized particles U and/or displays and/or documents the quantity of oversized particles U to a user B.
- the display can take place, for example, on a terminal of the agricultural harvesting machine.
- the camera 16 here and preferably has a predefined distance from the crop flow 13 .
- This aspect has several advantages. On the one hand, this makes it possible to convert the length L of a particle 12 of pixels into a real size. Furthermore, it is here and preferably the case that an architecture of the machine learning method and/or the training of the machine learning method takes into account the predefined distance. With object recognition in image processing, it is usually the case that many scalings in the architecture and/or training of the machine learning process are taken into account, since it is not clear in what size the objects will ultimately appear in image 15 . This problem has led to various solution approaches, which, however, are generally associated with increased computational complexity. In the present case it is possible to partially save this complexity.
- the camera 16 is arranged together with an optional optics 17 on the discharge chute 18 of the forage harvester 1.
- an optional optics 17 on the discharge chute 18 of the forage harvester 1 are also conceivable.
- the agricultural harvesting machine in particular the forage harvester 1, is controlled based on the particles 12 with excess length U found.
- This control can also be a regulation and generally relates to the setting of a machine parameter.
- the forage harvester 1 has a corncracker 5 as a working unit 2 for processing grain components of the harvested crop 4, which crushes the harvested crop 4 during operation, with the corncracker 5 having two rollers 6, which during operation are each equipped with a Rotate machine parameters adjustable speed, with a gap 7 remains between the rollers 6 with a gap width adjustable as a machine parameter, through which the crop 4 is transported, and where the rollers 6 have a differential speed which can be set as a machine parameter and by which the speed of the rollers 6 differs.
- the speed of the feed rollers 8a and/or the speed of the feed rollers 8b and/or the contact pressure of the feed rollers 8b and/or the speed of the chopper drum 11 and/or the engine speed of the forage harvester 1 is set based on the particles 12 found with excess length U.
- the forage harvester 1 is controlled by the arithmetic unit 14 in order to reduce the quantity of particles 12 with excess length U.
- the forage harvester 1 as a working unit 2 has feed rollers 8a and/or feed rollers 8b, with a speed that can be set, in particular in each case, as a machine parameter, and/or a chopper drum 11 with a speed that can be set as a machine parameter.
- the computing unit regulates the quantity of particles 12 with excess length U by changing at least one machine parameter as a manipulated variable, in particular to ensure compliance with a specified limit value, preferably that the manipulated variable is the speed of the feed rollers 8a and/or the speed of the Pre-compression rollers 8b and/or the contact pressure of the pre-compression rollers 8b and/or the speed of the chopper drum 11.
- the manipulated variable is the speed of the feed rollers 8a and/or the speed of the Pre-compression rollers 8b and/or the contact pressure of the pre-compression rollers 8b and/or the speed of the chopper drum 11.
- the agricultural harvesting machine is preferably controlled and/or regulated in real time based on the quantity of particles 12 with overlength U.
- the term "real time” is to be understood broadly in this context and means that receiving the data or information takes place within a specified period of time from the sending and/or generation of the data, which is at most half an hour, preferably at most a few seconds, for example at most 30 seconds, particularly preferably at most a few fractions of a second, for example at most half a second second, is.
- a number of images 15 are preferably analyzed, which then together serve as the basis for the control. This can be done in blocks or a running mean value can be formed.
- suggestion regions 20 are identified which potentially contain particles 12 with excess length U.
- the preferred embodiment of suggestion step 19 is presented below. However, it should be pointed out here that, in principle, various known suggested steps 19 can be used. Suitable algorithms are known by the term “region proposal”.
- the suggested regions 20 are analyzed, in particular classified, in order to determine from the suggested regions 20 result regions 22 which contain a particle 12 with excess length U.
- the classification step 21 partially reuses calculations of the suggesting step 19. This reuse is known, for example, from the "Faster R-CNN" algorithm.
- the analysis routine is based on a trained neural network as a machine learning method, preferably that the neural network is a neural convolution network.
- Neural convolutional networks are known under the term "convolutional neural network”.
- the suggestion step 19 and/or the classification step 21 is based on a trained neural network based.
- the suggestion step 19 and the classification step 21 partly use the same trained neural network.
- the suggestion step 19 is based on a so-called "region proposal network”. Provision can be made for the suggestion step 19 to include the application of a feature extractor directly or indirectly to the images 15 in order to generate a feature space 23 .
- the feature extractor is based here and preferably on a convolutional network 24, as is customary in particular for neural convolutional networks.
- the feature space 23 known as "feature space” is shown with only one level, but it preferably comprises several levels.
- the suggestion step 19 can further comprise the application of anchor boxes 25, in particular to each pixel of the feature space 23. Furthermore, the suggestion step 19 can include the application of a classifying neural network 26a to the anchor boxes 25 in order to identify the suggestion regions 20 from the anchor boxes 25 .
- the suggestion step 19 therefore preferably proceeds overall in such a way that an image 15, in particular a color image, is converted into a feature space 23 with a plurality of trained filters of the convolution network 24.
- the anchors 25 which find their way into the classifying neural network 26a of the suggestion step 19 , are applied to this feature space 23 in the manner of a sliding window.
- This likewise trained network 26a identifies the most promising candidates for particles 12 with excess length U and outputs them as suggested regions 20 .
- the anchor boxes 25 are preferably assigned their position in the original image 15 .
- the subsequent classification step 21 preferably arranges the suggested regions 20 into classes, with at least one class containing particles 12 with excess lengths U.
- at least one class contains acceptable particles 12 with excess length U and at least one class contains unacceptable particles 12 with excess length U is interesting.
- the classification step 21 is based here and preferably also on a classifying neural network 26b. This is preferably partially identical to the classifying neural network 26a of suggestion step 19. If we are talking about a neural network here, preferably the convolution network 24 and/or the classifying neural network 26a of suggestion step 19 and/or the classifying neural network 26a of classification step 21 meant.
- the classification step 21 classifies the particles 12 into at least three classes and/or into at most one hundred classes, preferably at most fifty classes, more preferably at most ten classes.
- the suggestion step 19 and the classification step 21 are based on a machine learning method.
- suggested steps 19 are known that are not based on a machine learning method.
- the possibility of estimating the quantity of particles 12 with excess length U based on the suggested regions 20 is also interesting.
- the excess length U is defined relative to a predetermined particle length L, in particular a set particle length L.
- the analysis routine it becomes necessary for the analysis routine to be able to take into account varying definitions of the excess length U.
- the excess length U is defined relative to a theoretical cutting length TLOC of the forage harvester 1, preferably that the excess length U is 1.2 times, preferably 1.4 times, and/or at most 2 times, preferably at most 1.7 times, and/or approximately 1.5 times the theoretical cutting length TLOC.
- the values given second are not a maximum value for the excess length U, but rather a maximum threshold value from which an excess length U begins.
- the definition of The excess length U can be set on the agricultural harvesting machine, with the excess length U being obtained relative to a set process variable.
- a trained machine learning method does not achieve consistently good results for a large range of overlengths U. It is therefore preferably the case that the computing unit 14 selects from at least two trained machine learning methods, preferably at least three trained machine learning methods, each of which is trained for different excess length ranges. Since the machine learning methods preferably only differ in terms of different training data sets 29 , in particular weights of the neural connections and/or anchor boxes 25 , a selection of a machine learning method is preferably equivalent to a selection of the training data set 29 . The architecture of the machine learning method is therefore preferably not changed.
- Computing unit 14 preferably selects one of the machine learning methods based on an externally specified length, in particular excess length U and/or theoretical cutting length TLOC.
- the computing unit 14 selects a maximum of thirty, preferably a maximum of twenty, even more preferably a maximum of ten machine learning methods or training data sets 29 .
- the theoretical cutting length TLOC can be transferred from the forage harvester 1 to the arithmetic unit 14 or be calculated by the arithmetic unit 14 from machine parameters of the forage harvester 1 or be set by a user B or the like, but alternatively it is also possible for the arithmetic unit 14 to calculate the theoretical Cut length TLOC estimated from Figures 15. For example, it can use part of the machine learning process.
- the machine learning method is or was preferably trained in a training step 27, in particular based on annotated images 28 of the crop flow 13.
- the result of the training is a training data record 29. This can contain the weights of the neural networks and/or the anchor boxes 25.
- training step 27 general training is carried out based on annotated images 28 with different definitions of excess length U and preferably subsequently specific training for each definition of excess length U, and/or that in training step 27 only a specific training for each definition of excess length U is carried out.
- the training step 27 is based on annotated images 28 taken at the predefined distance.
- the annotated images 28 preferably only or essentially particles 12 with excess length U were annotated.
- the training is geared towards excess lengths U.
- the anchor boxes 25 are preferably also trained.
- lower limit values for the anchor boxes 25 can be defined on the basis of the excess length U.
- Upper limits for the sizes of the anchor boxes 25 can be determined statistically on the basis of maximum particle lengths L that realistically occur with the theoretical cut lengths TLOC or generally in an overlength range.
- the anchor boxes 25 can be trained in the training step 27, preferably together with the neural network, in particular together with the convolution network 24 and/or the classifying neural network 26a, 26b.
- the training step 27 can be shortened by preselecting anchor boxes 25 as a starting point for the training.
- predetermined anchor boxes 25 are used as the starting point for training the anchor boxes 25 and that the predetermined anchor boxes 25 are derived from sizes of ground truth boxes of the annotated images using a clustering method, in particular a k-means method 28 are generated. All bounding boxes of the annotated images 28 are preferably combined and converted into a desired number of mean value boxes by means of the clustering method. This occurs correspondingly independently of the images 15 and the neural networks. It can be provided that the predetermined anchor boxes 25 are determined differently for several theoretical cutting lengths TLOC.

- the neural network can be based, at least in part, on an inception architecture, in particular an inception V2 or inception V3 architecture. Additionally or alternatively, the neural network can be used or trained by means of Tensorflow or Tensorflow Lite.
- an agricultural harvesting machine in particular a forage harvester 1, equipped with a computing unit 14 and a camera 16 is proposed for use in the proposed method.

Description
The invention relates to a method for detecting the length of a particle in a crop flow consisting of particles in an agricultural harvesting machine according to the preamble of

Oversized particles of chopped crop in the corn silage have significant disadvantages for a farmer. Such particles can reduce the quality of the silage feed for dairy cows and promote the formation of mold during storage due to the resulting air pockets. The length of the crop particles depends largely on the farmer's operating conditions and is largely controlled by the theoretical chop setting on the forage harvester, which defines the desired particle size. Because a forage harvester can harvest hundreds of tons per hour, an efficient and robust system for measuring quality in the field is required. However, the methods known from the prior art often still require manual, error-prone separation steps or the sending of samples to an external laboratory, which in turn leads to long waiting times until the evaluation results are available.
The invention is based on the problem of designing and developing the known method for detecting lengths of a particle in such a way that the detection accuracy is improved and/or the computing intensity is reduced.
The above problem is solved in a method according to the preamble of
The fundamental consideration is that conventional methods of image processing quickly reach their limits in the case of chaotic and inhomogeneous material flows. The use of a machine learning method can also improve the classification of particles in chaotic material flows, but in most applications it is not possible to classify all particles in one image in real time with realistic computing power. In everyday farming, however, it is usually not necessary to determine a complete size histogram of all particle lengths. It has been recognized that the application of a machine learning method, particularly in real time, is significantly less computationally intensive if no attempt is made to recognize all particles in an image. In the present case, the focus is therefore on the detection of oversized particles.
Especially oversized particles have a strong negative effect in silage and when feeding livestock. It is therefore proposed here at an agricultural Harvesting machine to analyze images of the crop flow by means of a computing unit in an analysis routine and to derive particle lengths of particles of the crop flow contained in the images by means of this analysis. A machine learning method is used that is specially trained to find oversized particles. In contrast to conventional image processing methods, which analyze the entire image, a large part of the image area is sorted out very early on, so that the computationally intensive operations are carried out much less frequently. This makes the method more economical to use and, in principle, real-time capable.
In detail, it is proposed that the particle length derived in the analysis routine is an excess length and that the analysis routine is based on a machine learning method trained to find particles with excess length, that the computing unit in the analysis routine determines a quantity of particles with excess length.
It is also interesting that the training effort can also be reduced. Especially when training using manual annotations, significantly fewer particles per image have to be annotated due to the focus on overly long particles. Although more images are needed to train the machine learning process, this can be specifically trained more quickly.
Claim 2 relates to the further use of the identified quantity of oversized particles, which can be displayed to a user and/or used to set machine parameters. This allows quick correction of erroneous settings that lead to overly long particles.
In an embodiment according to
According to
In the preferred embodiment according to claim 8, the analysis routine is based on a trained neural network as a machine learning method, which is preferably a neural convolution network. Neural convolution networks achieve particularly good results in image processing. In a particularly preferred embodiment, it is provided that the suggestion step and/or the classification step are based on a trained neural network and preferably partially use the same trained neural network.
Claims 9 and 10 relate to preferred embodiments of the suggestion step and the classification step. This enables a good combination of efficiency and accuracy. Claim 10 further relates to the possibility of providing a class with acceptable particles with excess lengths. This is of particular interest when certain excess lengths are systematically caused by the process and cannot be prevented or can only be prevented with great difficulty.
It may be the case that different lengths of particles are classified as overlong in different processes. It has been found that the accuracy of the method is increased if the machine learning method is only trained on a region of excess length. Accordingly, it can be provided according to

Naturally, the harvested crop 4 here includes grain components and non-grain components. The grain components can be corn kernels from the corn plants. The non-grain components can then be leaves, stalks and the like of the corn plant.
The
During operation, the corn cracker 5 can crush the harvested crop 4 . The corn cracker 5 here has two
The

The

Here and preferably, the theoretical cutting length TLOC is set specifically via the speed of the feed rollers 8a and/or the speed of the feed rollers 8b and/or a contact pressure of the feed rollers 8b and/or a speed of the

It is now essential that the particle length L derived in the analysis routine is an excess length U, that the analysis routine is based on a machine learning method trained to find
Here and preferably it is provided that a quantity of
In the present case, it is preferred that the
Another interesting aspect in this context is that the

It can be provided that the computing unit regulates the quantity of
The agricultural harvesting machine is preferably controlled and/or regulated in real time based on the quantity of
As part of the control of the
Then, preferably in a
Here, and preferably, the
In general, it is here and preferably so that the analysis routine is based on a trained neural network as a machine learning method, preferably that the neural network is a neural convolution network. Neural convolutional networks are known under the term "convolutional neural network".
As will be explained below, it is preferably the case that the
In
The
The
The
Here, and preferably, the
In the present case, the
In general, it is here and preferably so that the excess length U is defined relative to a predetermined particle length L, in particular a set particle length L. Thus, it becomes necessary for the analysis routine to be able to take into account varying definitions of the excess length U. With regard to the present exemplary embodiment, it is preferably the case that the excess length U is defined relative to a theoretical cutting length TLOC of the
It is possible that a trained machine learning method does not achieve consistently good results for a large range of overlengths U. It is therefore preferably the case that the
The theoretical cutting length TLOC can be transferred from the
The machine learning method is or was preferably trained in a
It can be provided that in
Here and preferably, the
In addition to the weights of the neural networks, the
As mentioned, the
The
It is also possible that in the
On a technical level, the computing intensity can be reduced if weights of the neural network, preferably the
