Description
"KIT COMPRISING A BAG AND A BOX"
DESCRIPTION
FIELD OF APPLICATION
[0001]The present invention relates to a kit comprising a bag and a box. In particular, the present invention relates to a kit comprising a bag and an extractable box, which are intended to obtain a single packaging unit. BACKGROUND ART
[0002]The present invention particularly relates to the field of packaging made of paper, paperboard, or cardboard. Such a reference is not to be understood in a limiting manner because the principles of the present invention may also be applied to other types of materials, as it will be obvious to those skilled in the art from the continuation of the present description.
[0003]As is known, several examples of boxes made of paper, paperboard and/or cardboard adapted to contain jewellery, items of clothing, etc., are known from the prior art. [0004]These boxes generally consist of a bottom and a cover and may provide inner, even shaped, spaces adapted to contain a certain object or a set of objects.
[0005]Once a product is purchased, it is placed in the box, which in turn, since it is generally not provided with gripping means adapted to the transport thereof, is
inserted into a further bag which instead is provided with handles.
[0006]Both the box and the bag usually have the trademark of the shop or of the product acquired. [0007]Therefore, through the rigidity thereof, the box has the task to contain and protect the object purchased, while the bag (also referred to as a shopper) serves the function of making the box, and therefore the object contained in the box, easy to transport. [0008]Although the prior art is widely used, it is not free from drawbacks.
[0009]First, when the box is inserted into the bag, it is free to move inside the bag and could come out of it.
[0010]Moreover, the bag-box coupling often is a waste of material because the object in fact requires a double wrapping.
OVERVIEW OF THE INVENTION
[0011]Therefore, the need to solve the drawbacks and limitations mentioned above with reference to the prior art is felt.
[0012]Therefore, the need to provide a bag with extractable box which prevents the box from accidentally coming out of the bag is felt.
[0013]Moreover, the need for a packaging in which there is less waste of material as compared to the systems used by
the prior art is felt.
[0014]Such a need is met by a kit comprising a bag and a box according to claim 1.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS [0015]Further features and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent from the following description of preferred embodiments thereof given by way of non-limiting examples, in which:
- Figure 1 shows a diagrammatic perspective view of a kit according to the present invention, in which the box is partially extracted;
- Figure 2 shows a diagrammatic perspective view of a kit according to the present invention, in which the box is completely inserted into the bag; - Figure 3 shows a diagrammatic perspective view of an enlarged portion of a kit according to the present invention;
- Figure 4 and Figure 5 diagrammatically show a bag and a box, respectively, according to present invention, prior to being folded and assembled.
[0016]Elements or parts in common to the embodiments described will be indicated hereafter using the same reference numerals.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION [0017]A kit comprising a bag 14 and a box 16 is indicated
in Figure 1 by reference numeral 12.
[0018]The bag 14 has an inner surface 18 which defines a substantially parallelepiped-shaped inner volume and comprises a bottom 20 opposite to an opening 22. Moreover, the bag 14 is provided with gripping means 24 adapted to be grasped.
[0019]The box 16 is adapted to occupy the inner volume of bag 14 and comprises a back wall 26 and at least one side wall 28. [0020]The box 16, at an edge 30 of the side wall 28, is provided with a protruding portion 32. The bag 14, at the inner surface 18, is provided with an abutment 34 for the protruding portion 32.
[0021]The coupling between protruding portion 32 and abutment 34 forms an obstruction to the complete extraction of box 16 from bag 18.
[0022]As shown in the figures, the box 16 may comprises four side walls 28, 36, 38, 40. According to a possible embodiment, not shown in the accompanying figures, the box 16 may also be provided with a lid, which is independent from or integrated with, for example, one of the side walls 28, 36, 38, 40 of the box.
[0023]The protruding portion 32 may be arranged on the side wall 38 intended, in use, to face the bottom 20 of bag 14.
[0024]Figure 5 shows an open box 16, prior to being folded. As seen, the side walls may be made with a double layer: an outer layer 42 and an inner layer 44, which, in use, are folded over each other so as to overlap each other.
[0025]The inner layer 44 may comprise, at the at least one side wall 42 provided with the protruding portion 32, a slit 46 which defines part of the inner layer 44 connected to edge 30. With the inner layer 44 folded over the outer layer 42, such a slit allows it to protrude from edge 30, thus defining the protruding portion 32. [0026]According to alternative embodiments (not shown in the accompanying figures), the protruding portion 32 may also be made through alternative methods, for example a glued element, even not made of paper, plastic material, or metal.
[0027]According to a possible embodiment, the protruding portion 32 may protrude from edge 30 for an extension which is less than 10 mm. Advantageously, the protruding portion 32 protrudes from said edge 30 by an extension between 5 mm and 10 mm.
[0028]Moreover, the protruding portion 32 may have an extension along edge 30 between 10 mm and 50 mm.
[0029]According to alternative embodiments (not shown in the accompanying figures), the box may comprise more than
one protruding portion 32 along the edge 30.
[0030]Figure 4 shows a possible embodiment of a bag according to the present invention, in open configuration, prior to being folded. [0031]According to a possible embodiment, abutment 34 may comprise a layer of material applied onto the inner surface of said bag 14. As seen in the embodiment shown in Figure 4, the abutment may be, for example, a portion of paper glued at the opening area of the bag. [0032]According to a possible alternative embodiment, the abutment may be made of plastic or metal material.
[0033]As seen in Figure 1, the at least one side wall 28, which is intended, in use, to face the bottom 20 of bag 14, has a surface extension substantially equal to bottom 20 and to the opening 22 of the bag 14.
[0034]In essence, the box 16 substantially is counter shaped to the inner volume of bag 14.
[0035]Advantageously, and in a known manner, the coupling between box 16 and bag 14 may be such as to avoid an involuntary sliding of box 16 outside of bag 14.
[0036]According to a possible embodiment, the box 16 may be made of paper having a weight between 250 g/m2 and 500 g/m2, or cardboard having a weight greater than 500 g/m2. [0037]The bag 14 may be made of paper having a weight between 160 g/m2 and 350 g/m2, or cardboard having a
weight greater than 350 g/m2.
[0038]According to alternative embodiments, both box 16 and bag 14 may be made of paper or cardboard and covered with a layer of polymeric material. [0039]As seen in Figure 1, the box 16 may comprise a front wall 48 opposite to said back wall 26, on which gripping means 48 adapted to allow the movement of box 16 with respect to bag 14 are on an outer portion of the front wall 48. [0040]Such gripping means may be, for example, a ribbon, a handle made of paper or cardboard, or a hole with metal eyelet.
[0041]The advantages of the kit according to the present invention are thus apparent. [0042]First, the kit according to the present invention comprising a bag and a box is a fusion between the two elements which allows several advantages to be obtained, both from a functional but also from an aesthetical viewpoint. [0043]First, the bag thereby becomes an integral part of the box, thus reducing the waste of material, since the box may be made without a lid.
[0044]Moreover, the shape of the coupling between box and bag allows a partial extraction of the box, which may be blocked, for example, at about 1 cm before the complete
extraction of the bag.
[0045]Again, both the bag and the box may be made so as to be self-assembling, and i.e. with the prepared fold lines. [0046]Moreover, with regards to the retailer and the end consumer, such a product is not an upheaval of the usual packaging kits which currently often already comprise a bag and a box.
[0047]Therefore, the kit of the present invention summarizes the main advantages of each individual element: the rigidity and protection provided by the box combined with the functionality and visibility of a bag. [0048]Moreover, the kit according to the present invention comprising the bag and box may be completely made of recyclable and environmentally friendly materials.
[0049]In order to meet specific needs, those skilled in the art will be able to make changes to the embodiments described above and/or replace the elements described with equivalent elements without departing from the scope of the appended claims.
