Description

FRONT LOAD WASHING MACHINE WITH AN ELECTRIC LIGHT BODY
Subject of invention
The subject of the invention is a front load washing machine with an electric light body for illuminating the interior of the washing drum of the washing machine, comprising a housing, an oscillating washing unit, arranged within the housing, with a tub and a rotating washing drum for laundry to be washed, a door closing an opening in the tub, through which the drum is loaded, a door hinge, with which the door is attached directly to the tub of the washing machine.
Technical problem
The technical problem is how to design illumination of the interior of the drum in a washing machine that has the machine door mounted directly on the oscillating washing unit via a door hinge and the door sealing on the washing unit is provided for, during a washing process, by a ring seal arranged on the door itself; the illumination should completely illuminate the interior of the drum and will allow the user to have a good view of the interior of the drum without the light of the lamp dazzling the user.
Prior art
Technical lighting solutions are known, in which an electric light to illuminate the interior of the washing machine dram is arranged in a door seal shaped like a corrugated bellows. Patent application DE 3843386 A1 describes a technical solution where an electric light is arranged in the outer part of the tub and the light comes through the door seal by means of a light guide.
In a front load washing machine, in which the door is attached via a hinge directly to an oscillating washing unit, the sealing is performed with a relatively narrow annular seal that is arranged directly on the recessed part of the door. In the washing machines of this type, a light body cannot be mounted on or in the seal itself, as is usual with the washing machines, in which the door is mounted on the washing machine housing and the bellows-type door seals are significantly longer in the axial direction. Therefore, the technical solutions described above are unsuitable for this type of washing machine.
Solution to the technical problem
The technical problem is solved by a washing machine with an electric light body for illuminating the interior of a washing drum of the washing machine according to the invention with the characteristics as defined in the first claim.
The front load washing machine with an electric light body for illuminating the interior of the washing machine drum comprises a housing and an oscillating washing unit arranged inside the housing, which is attached to the housing by means of springs and damping means. The oscillating washing unit comprises a tub, in which a drum which rotates substantially in the horizontal axis is arranged and is driven by an electric motor arranged in the outer part of the tub. The tub has weights arranged thereon, which contribute to the greater mass or inertia of the oscillating unit and thus less oscillation due to centrifugal forces resulting from an uneven distribution of laundry in the drum. The tub is further provided with elements for the inflow and outflow of detergents and water, as well as elements for the control of washing characteristics such as temperature, level of detergents or water, etc.
On the swinging unit, a door is arranged via a hinge, said door closing the opening in the tub, through which the drum is loaded. According to the invention, said washing machine door hinge has, in one of its legs, a groove for receiving the light body for illuminating the interior of said drum.
Said light body comprises a housing formed of a base part of the housing having an area, in which a lamp is arranged, and a cover part having a section with a transparent portion arranged in the section so as to coincide with the lamp when both parts of the housing are tightly joined together.
The section of the housing cover part is configured to rise obliquely with respect to the base plane of the housing cover part.
The light beams of a light bundle are reflected in a circular direction on the rounded and bright surface of the washing drum, illuminating the entire interior of the washing drum. As the interior surface of the drum is uneven and provided with holes, the light beams are additionally reflected and scattered on the interior of the washing drum, which further contributes to the illumination of the interior of the drum.
The lamp located in the light body housing is usually a LED lamp and is connected to an electrical source via an electrical conductor, the electrical conductor being guided in a weight groove arranged in the front portion of the machine to balance the tub and drum.
The housing of the light body is made of a plastic material.
The light body is completely distant both from the area of the drum as well as the laundry manipulation opening, its installation does not create any additional bulge and is therefore completely unobtrusive. The light body is so distant from the manipulation area that the user perceives it only as a light source. At the same time, its position and configuration make it possible to illuminate the entire interior of the drum during loading and, in particular, unloading the washing machine. This allows the user to easily and reliably control the contents of the drum, thus preventing a piece of laundry from remaining in the drum after washing due to poor lighting.
A further advantage of the light body thus configured is its simple design, which allows for easy implementation and consequently economic justification. A very important advantage of the light body according to the invention is its safety. Since the light body is fixed on the door hinge, none of its components participates in the movement of the door during the opening and closing of the door, thus preventing or greatly reducing the risk of electric shock.
The washing machine with a light body of the invention will be described in more detail below by way of an embodiment and drawings representing in
Fig. 1 a washing machine with a door hinged to a tub, projection view Fig. 2 a light body in cross-section
The relative expressions like front, rear, upper, lower etc. are defined herein from the perspective of the washing machine user when the machine is in its functional state.
A front load washing machine 100 comprises a housing 1, an oscillating washing unit 2, arranged in the housing, with a tub 3 and a rotating drum 4 for receiving laundry to be washed, a door 5 at least in part formed transparently and closing an opening 9 and consequently the tub 3, through which the drum 4 is loaded, and a door hinge 6, via which the door 5 is mounted directly to the tub 3 of the washing machine 100, said tub 3 abutting the door 5 and sealing it by means of a narrow annular seal 7 arranged directly on the door 5. In the washing machine, one of the weights is arranged in the front part, which provides for the balance of the tub 3 and the washing drum 4.
The door 5 of the washing machine is attached to the tub 3 of the washing machine via the door hinge 6. Legs 61, 62 of the door hinge 6, on which the door 5 is pivoted, protrude away from the front panel of the washing machine. In one of the legs 61, 62, preferably in the leg 61 more distant from the ground, a groove 21 for receiving a light body 10 is arranged on the surface facing the manipulation opening 9. The groove 21 is configured to be conical, thus enabling a form- fit connection with the light body 10. The light body 10 comprises a two-part housing 11 formed of a housing base part 12, with which the light body 10 rests in the groove 21 of the hinge 6, and a housing cover part 13. Attached to the housing base part 12 is a lamp 14 that is usually formed as a LED lamp, and is connected to a voltage source via electrical conductors 16. The electrical conductors 16 are guided from the light body 10 to the hinge 6 and further in the groove 17 in the weight 8. The housing cover part 13 has a section 18 with a transparent portion 20 that is arranged in the section 18 so as to be located above the lamp 14 when the two housing parts 12, 13 are joined together in a water-tight manner. In the embodiment, the transparent portion 20 is formed as an opening 19 covered with a transparent film in a watertight manner. Through the transparent portion 20, the bundle of light beams is directed through the opening 9 into the interior of the drum 4. In order to achieve the orientation of the light beam towards the interior the drum 4 and to prevent dazzling of the user in front of the washing machine 100, the section 18 of the housing cover part 13 is configured to rise obliquely with respect to the base plane of the housing cover part 13. As the inner surface of the drum 4 is curved, the light beams are reflected in a circular direction over the interior of the drum 4. Due to the bulges and holes on the surface of the drum 4, the light beams are still further scattered. This illuminates the entire interior of the drum 4, including the area not directly illuminated by the light bundle.
