Description

FOLDABLE SEAT BACK REMAINING IN PARALLEL LEVEL
Technical Field
Invention relates to back used as back breaking in heavy and light commercial vehicle seats and in all vehicle seats.
The invention particularly relates to seat back remaining in parallel position even in case of changing seat back angle, offering aesthetic appearance thanks to feature of being hidden into seat and offering advantage in terms of weight due to comprising less parts in comparison to current systems.
State of the Art
One of the most important aspects in design of vehicles used for passenger transport both inter cities and in-cities is the production of seats that can provide adequate comfort during long travels. Passenger seats used in public transports basically comprises back, seat, moving mechanism and headrest. Moving mechanism is used to change position/angle of back and in some cases, seat. Headrests of different features and designs are used in seats of public transports used today such as bus, minibus etc. Headrest can be uniform with back as well as designed separately.
Today seats of vehicles offering intercity passenger transport in particular have desks/trays called tablet. Said tablets are mounted onto back of seat basically and are folded and closed when not used. Said tables have glass holder for placement of glasses without effect from vehicle vibration and also recently various embodiment developed for placing tablet computers and mobile phones. Even though said tablets are developed to provide comfort during travelling, keeping their parallel position to ground becomes difficult in case of tilting the seat as they are connected to seat back. One example of said embodiments is the invention disclosed under patent numbered TR201617662 and entitled “A Complete Seat”. The invention relates to a complete seat opening outward in stages and functioning as back support in the first stage, as glass holder and tray in the second stage, also capable to be inflated by hot or cold air and also capable to be filled by air of differing pressure as well as by air of differing temperature and comprising an inflatable member provided to keep inner side at a preferred temperature value by circulating air therein constantly. Another example is the invention disclosed under utility model numbered TR201705820 and entitled “Adjustable Tablet”. The invention relates to an adjustable tablet mounted to rear part of passenger seats in transport vehicles such as bus, minibus, train, ship, aircraft etc. and used by passengers to put their food, drinks and properties and particularly adjustable to an angle preferred by passengers. Although there are several studies on service trays used in passenger transport vehicles, there are no embodiments developed for use in light and heavy commercial vehicles. Although cars have embodiments opened between back seats and functioning as glass holder and tablet, number of studies made for light commercial vehicles is few.
Today subject to change of angle of tablets used in seat backs when seat back angle changes, upper back part or loss of parallel position of tablet with horizontal plane and placement of current embodiments outside seat and thus comprising many parts all together cause disadvantages both in visual and weight aspects. As a result, the need for a foldable seat back remaining in parallel level eliminating the disadvantages available in the related art and inadequacy of existing solutions has necessitated development in the related art.
Brief Description of the Invention
Present invention relates to back meeting all above mentioned needs, eliminating all disadvantages and bringing some advantages and used as back breaking in heavy and light commercial vehicle seats and as service table in all vehicle seats.
From background of the related art, the purpose of invention is to provide parallel position of tablet or upper back in all cases when seat back angle is changed thanks to seat back embodiment developed hereunder.
Purpose of the invention is to provide elimination of adverse consequences that might occur in visual terms thanks to the system of hiding seat back into the seat.
Another purpose of the invention is to provide less weight of total seat weights thanks to comprising less parts of seat back in comparison to current systems.
A further purpose of the invention is to provide protection of position of parallel to horizontal plane in case seat back angle is changed thanks to balance wire that seat back comprises.
Another purpose of the invention is to provide stopping and remaining of upper back group parallel to horizontal plane thanks to stopper that seat back comprises.
A further purpose of the invention is to provide bringing seat back from folded position to current position thanks to spiral spring that seat back comprises. The structural and characteristics features of the invention and all advantages will be understood better in detailed descriptions with the figures given below and with reference to the figures, and therefore, the assessment should be made taking into account the said figures and detailed explanations.
Brief Description of Figures

Detailed Description of the Invention
In this detailed description, seat back system (10) used as back breaking in heavy and light commercial vehicle seats and as service table (17) in all vehicle seats of this invention is disclosed only as an example for the purpose of better understanding of the subject and described in a manner not causing any restrictive effect.
Seat back system (10) shown in figure 1 can be used in commercial vehicle seats, aircraft seats and seats having service table (17). Stopper part (12) is placed in said seat back system (10) for providing stopping of upper back group (15) and keeping it in parallel to horizontal axis. Said upper back group (15) supports seat headrest and shoulder area and is also used as service table (17) thanks to housing provided in rear area. Said upper back group (15) is connected to back frame
(14) located in part of seat where back rests on and supporting sponge. Said seat back system (10) comprises balance wire (11) providing remaining of upper back group (15) parallel to horizontal axis. Spiral spring (13) is provided to provide return from folded position to current position. It provides advantage in visual terms thanks to hidden seat back system (10) into back and head rest parts of seat as shown in figure 2. Seat back system (10) shown in Figure 3 provides service table (17) to remain in position parallel to ground in all cases when back angle is changed.
Lower connection point of back frame (14) provided in seat back system (10) shown in figure 4 forms turning center. The end of turning center point corresponding to folded upper back group
(15) forms turning centre of upper back group (15). Lower rotating centre is fixed reference point by lower one of connection points of balance wire (11) corresponding to turning centre above and below. Free rotation movement is possible because said folded upper back group (15) is connected from 2 points. In addition, the distance between back frame (14) and upper back group (15) rotation centres should be equal to balance wire length (11). Since weight centre of said upper back group (15) is on front side, end section tries to go downward and going down of upper back group (15) is prevented by help of balance wire (11). Total 2 balance wires (11) one on right and one on left of seat back system (10) and a back frame (14) are provided as shown in figure 5. Button (16) placed on the point where said seat back system (10) back frame (14) and service table (17) are connected performs locking and releasing functions.
As shown in figure 6, folded seat upper back group (15) folded independent of change in seat back angle or service table (37) is provided on 4-arm seat back system (10). Length of parts used in said seat back system (10) should have correct position and connection angle. When upper back group (15) or service table (17) shown in figure 6a comes to open position, it contacts stopper part (12) and conducts locking. Balance wire (11) located on other side of said stopper part (12) becomes active. After locking is completed, seat back frame (14) protects its parallel position with horizontal thanks to folded upper back group (15) or service table (17) balance wire (11) and stopper part (12). Button (16) is lifted to bring folded upper back group (15) or service table (17) shown in figure 7 to former/current position. Thus lock is unlocked and spiral spring (13) is brought to former position. Balance wire (11) angle, length and position shown in figure 7a and stopper part (12) position, angle and connection distance are to be the same. Balance wire (11) shown in figure 7b works in constantly tightened logic. Said balance wire (11) provides simplification of seat back system (10) and obtaining lightness by use of less number of parts.
