Abstract

The invention relates to the extension of partially or highly used pencils.

For these reasons, it is currently common practice to dispose of the pens well before their full capacity is reached, which is above all an ecological and - in view of the low unit price of a pen - ultimately an economic problem.

So far, no useful technical solutions for this problem are known.

For example, German patent application 103216 of 1898 describes a sleeve for slate pins in which the slate pins are held by means of resilient notches. Also known is the solution according to German utility model 1 770 517, which proposes inserting a new pin over its entire length into a metal sleeve. This metal shell has a slot so that a pin that has been pushed in too far can be pushed out again using a knife or nail.

A pen extension made from plastic by VELUX is only about 7.5 cm long and, compared to a pen, has a significantly larger, rectangular cross-sectional area, which does not significantly improve the handling of particularly shortened pens.

In addition, this extension has an unfavorably shaped, stiff clamp, with which the previously described problems of insertion and accessibility are only partially solved.
