Description

DESCRIPTION
Support system for a household appliance Technical field
The object of the present invention is a support system for a household appliance that is applicable to a wall.
Background art
Support systems for televisions are known comprising:
- a plate applied to the wall by means of hooks that are engaged in relevant plugs placed in holes made with a drill;
- a support to which the television is connected by means of threaded elements and which in turn is connected to the wall plate.
A drawback of such solution is connected with the assembly difficulty, especially if whoever is performing such operation is alone and the television is heavy and bulky.
In fact, the connection of the television support to the wall plate is complex as the installer has a heavy and bulky household appliance in their hand, but especially because it prevents them from seeing the plate behind to which it is to be connected.
Disclosure of the invention
The object of the present invention is to propose a system that enables easy installation of household appliances.
The technical task set and the objects specified are substantially attained by a system, comprising the technical characteristics as set out in one or more of the accompanying claims.
Brief description of drawings
Further characteristics and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent from the following indicative and therefore non limiting description of a system as illustrated in the appended drawings, in which:
- figures 1 and 2 show two different configurations of components of a system according to the present invention; - figure 3 shows a portion of what is illustrated in figures 1 and 2;
- figure 4 shows a component of figure 1 or 2;
- figures 5 or 6 show alternative solutions of a component of figure 1 or 2;
- figure 7 shows a system according to the present invention;
- figure 8 shows a portion of figure 7;
- figures 9 or 10 show components of a system according to the present invention.
Detailed description of preferred embodiments of the invention
In the accompanying figures, a system comprising a frame 2 applicable to a wall is indicated by the reference number 1. The system 1 comprises an electric power supply 20 housed by the frame 2. The frame 2 can comprise a built-in box 5. The built-in box 5 is placed within the wall. The frame 2 can comprise a blind plate 21 (see example 5). The frame 2 can comprise a rim 22 (which is appropriately connected to the built-in box 5). The frame 2 can possibly comprise a container 23 that defines a compartment 50 that projects into the box 5 starting from the rim. Typically, such container 23 projects from the rim 22. The built-in box 5 is a distinct body from said rim 22 or from said blind plate 21 or from the container 23 that defines the compartment 50. Appropriately, the built-in box 5 is located behind the blind plate 21 or the rim 22 or however the container 23. In the preferred embodiment the built-in box 5 is made of plastic material. Appropriately also the blind plate 21 or the rim 22 and/or the container 23 are/is made of plastic material.
The system 1 further comprises a household appliance 3 that is appropriately free from a rechargeable electric battery. It is therefore intended to be powered by the electric mains network. Appropriately, the household appliance 3 weighs less than 10 kg. Advantageously, the household appliance 3 hangs on the frame 2. On this point, the system 1 comprises a support means 4 removably applied to said frame 2 and that supports the household appliance 3.
The support means 4 could be integrated directly into the household appliance 3 (e.g. on the back of the household appliance 3 as exemplified in figure 9 or 10); e.g. it could be in a single body with at least one portion of a“casing” of said household appliance. In an alternative solution it could be afforded as a separate body that can be assembled to the household appliance 3. In the latter case, it could be used for the orientation of the household appliance.
The support means 4 can comprise a rotatable means 40 that allows the household appliance 3 to be moved with respect to the frame 2. Such rotatable means 40 may for example comprise an articulation, e.g. a spherical articulation (see for example figures 7 and 8). The rotatable means 40 can possibly comprise an articulated and/or folding arm (see for example figures 1 , 2, 3).
Appropriately, the support means 4 comprises an electrical connection means 41 that places (or is intended to place) in communication said electric power supply 20 and said household appliance 3. The electrical connection means 41 can for example comprise an electrical cable 410. Along the support means 4 there may possibly be a data cable or a signal transmission cable coming from an antenna (e.g. if the household appliance 3 is a TV). The support means 4 can comprise a tubular element. The electrical cable 410 extends at least in part into the tubular element. Advantageously, such electrical cable, at least for 75% of the extension thereof, is within the support means 4. It is therefore not visible from the outside or only minimally.
In an operating configuration the support means 4 is physically connected to the frame 2. In the operating configuration a physical connection between the support means 4 and the frame 2 automatically determines an electrical connection between the electric power supply 20 and the electrical connection means 41. Therefore, the physical connection between the frame 2 and the support means 4 also allows the electrical connection means 41 to be powered. Should it already be connected to the household appliance 3 the latter will therefore already be powered. However, it is not necessary to connect electric plugs to the frame 2 once the physical connection between the frame 2 and the support means 4 has been made.
Appropriately, the support means 4 is connected by sliding into the frame 2. Appropriately, the support means 4 and the frame 2 comprise one a guide means 200 and the other a sliding skid 400. Preferably, the guide means 200 is integrated into the frame 2. The guide means 200 can comprise an electric track defining/being part of said electrical power supply 20. Likewise, the sliding skid 400 comprises an electrical conductor that is intended to be placed in communication with said electric track. Possibly, the electric power supply 20 can comprise an electrical socket placed in the frame 2. Appropriately the electrical socket is accessible from the compartment 50. The electrical socket is therefore applied to said container 23 that extends into the built-in box 5. In that case the socket can be defined as a hidden socket. A plug of the household appliance 3 can therefore be engaged in the socket.
Appropriately the guide means 200 comprises at least one groove that extends vertically or horizontally. The guide means 200 advantageously comprises two grooves in which corresponding skids are engaged.
In the preferred solution the support means 4 comprises a connection body 42 with said frame 2. Appropriately it is a plate. The connection body 42 can also be defined as a cover as it covers (fully or partially) the underlying frame 2. The connection body 42 is a rigid element, e.g. metal and/or plastic. Appropriately, the connection body 42 extends parallel to a vertical plane.
Appropriately, the support means 4 comprises a connection element 43 with said household appliance 3. Such connection element 43 extends parallel to a vertical plane.
The support means 4 comprises an arm 44 that extends between said connection body 42 and said connection element 43. Such arm 44 could be foldable and/or articulated. The arm 44 appropriately extends horizontally.
Appropriately, in a particular embodiment, the household appliance 3 is a television. In that case, the connection body 42 is a Vesa mount (see for example figures 1 , 2, 3, 7, 8). It is a well known standardized mount as such.
Appropriately the household appliance 3 may be a television (see figure 7) or an electric lamp (solution not shown) or an electric heater (see figure 10) or a beverage dispensing machine e.g. a coffee machine (see figure 9), etc.
The present invention achieves important advantages.
Above all, it allows easy mechanical connection of the household electric appliance. In an advantageous solution, such mechanical connection simultaneously also allows an electrical connection. This therefore makes the installation of a new household appliance very easy.
The invention as it is conceived is susceptible to numerous modifications and variations, all falling within the scope of the inventive concept characterising it. Furthermore, all the details can be replaced with other technically equivalent elements. In practice, all the materials used, as well as the dimensions, can be any according to requirements.
